  • adldap class, need to search for user in two groups

    http://adldap.sourceforge.net/wiki/doku.php?id=api_user_functions#user_ingroup_username_group_recursive_null I am using the adLDAP class above to authenticate users against our ldap server. I was wondering how I could check multiple groups to see if the user belongs to either, if they belong to either. I don't know if user_ingroup($username,$group,$recursive=NULL); can handle search two different groups for the user, need help coding it to search for the user in two different groups, and as soon as it finds it in one of those, break the operation and set a variable to true. Any help is appreciated.

  • get all domain names on network

  • Toggle a CSS selector using JQuery

    I am trying to toggle the display of a CSS selector (ie.to show/hide it) using JQuery. I successfully toggled the display of a div, but want to do this now with the CSS selector :after. The CSS selector is being used to create the arrow on the box.   • Why does Spring Security's BindAuthenticator require read permissions for users?

    Hi all, I'm currently implementing/configuring the LDAP authentication of a Java web application using Spring Security 3.0. I'm using Microsoft AD LDS as LDAP server and chose the Spring's BindAuthenticator. I found out that the authentication only works if the authenticated user is a member of the partition's Readers role. The BindAuthenticator tries to read the user's attributes after the authentication, which seems reasonable in scenarios where authorities are retrieved from the directory service. Being new to LDAP and AD, is this an acceptable practise when the application is integrated in an existing AD structure? Can fine-tune an give the user dns only read permissions for their own attributes rather than adding them to the Reader group? Thanks Thomas

  • Asp.Net Login Control very slow initial connection to Non-Trusted AD Domain

    ASP.NET Login control is very slow making the initial connection to AD when authenticating to a different domain than the domain the web server is a member of. Problem occurs for the IIS server and when using with the Visual Studio's built in web server. It takes about 30 seconds the first time when attempting to use the control to connect against another domain. There is no trust relationship bewteen the web server's domain and the other domains (attempted connecting to several different domains). Subsequent connections execute quickly until the connection times out. Using Systernals Process Monitor to troubleshoot, there are two OpenQuery operations right before the delay to "C:\WINDOWS\asembly\GAC_MSIL\System.DirectoryServices\2.0.0.0_b03f5f7f11d50a3a\Netapi32.dll with a result NAME NOT FOUND" and right after the 30 second delay the TCP Send and TCP Recieves indicate communication begins with the AD server. Things we have tried: Impersonating an administrator on the web server in the web.config; Granting permissions to the CryptoKeys to the NetworkService and ASPNET; Specifying by IP instead of DNS name; Multiple variations of specifying the name and ldap server with domains and OU's; Local host entries; Looked for ports being blocked (SYN_SENT) with netstat -an. Nslookup resolves all the domains and systems involved correectly. TraceRt shows the Correct routes Any Idea or hints are greately appreicated.

I don't know why, since my model association are well defined and the event table has the foreign keys for the user table.     I am trying to write a script to list out all members of a "Universal Distribution List" using Powershell. However I keep getting an empty result set back. When I run the following command against a "Global Distribution List" it works fine and I can see who belongs to it. dsquery group -name "SomeGroup" | dsget group -members -expand However as I mentioned when I run this against a "Universal Distribution List" I get no results. Can anyone help?

Did you put it all in the LDAP or did you link it with information in the application? Looking to build this in asp.net mvc 2 and using membership features, so best practice here i guess is that we roll our own custom provider to acomplish this...
