  Hello, Q1 - As far as I know, Visual Studio doesn’t use aspnet_compiler.exe when compiling web application projects. And since Web Deployment Projects (WDP) tool is only used for manipulation the output created by aspnet_compiler.exe, I don’t understand how VS 2008 also has an option for using WDP with web application projects?! Q2 - What is a stock project? thanx EDIT: So I was right about the fact that Visual Studio doesn’t use aspnet_compiler.exe when compiling web application projects? much appreciated

• How do I set a single virtual directory of my web app to not inherit web.config?

  I have a virtual directory setup in one of my web apps that needs to not inherit the web.config of the main app so it can run on it's own. I am wondering how I can do this because right now when I hit it (mainwebapp.domain.com/virdir) it throws an error saying it can't find some dependencies that are listed in the main apps web.config (shows main app web.config in the error message), this virdir contains it's own little app that needs to just run standalone.

Say I have a web method named foo in TestService, how do I make an ajax call to it? I tried accessing the method via http://127.0.0.1:8080/IM/TestService/foo, but I'm getting an HTTP Status 404.

  I have an ASP.NET project which has already some custom fields in it's web.config file. I've added in it three more fields and used them in my changes, and it's working great. But where it needs to be used, there aren't these thre fields in the web.config (this was expected, I've just added by hand for tests and developing). How do I check the existance of fields in web.config, and in case of not finding it, how do I add it permanently to the web.config ? Thank you

Questions: Firstly right to the jargon, is there any actual difference between the two or do they mean the same? Is it safe to classify the current development mainly a html5/css3 based one? What popular frameworks are available to easily implement this? What testing methods used in this regard? What are the most common compatibility issues in terms of different browser types? Are there any external browser detection methods besides the API calls specific to the browser that are employed in this regard?   I was looking for some beginner advice regarding level design across multiple resolutions. I believe the answer is likely "it depends", but any input from anyone with real experience is very appreciated. Basically, I am building a 2D Super Metroid type game. If rooms/levels are to be a tiled grid, what are some general best practices for designing rooms when taking into account different resolutions? Since more or less tiles could fit vertically on a single screen depending on the resolution, is it better to design towards possibly having more of the room visible depending on the screen (with a bare minimum needed for gameplay), or should I fix the design at a certain tile height and scale the graphics?

I am excited about WP7 and decided that having a solid .ai template would prove invaluable.   This is the presentation I did tonight at PHILLYNJ.NET.  It is the first in a multi-part of a series on the Applied Design Patterns.   The solution files are working code with design pattern notes in the comment blocks. After the overview and higher level discussions on Enterprise Design Patterns I reviewed the low level Database Access Library of code.  With walk-throughs of the the code and unint test. After that we went through the ProductPhotoConsoleTest Application that performed intergration testing of the DBAccess Class with the AdventureWorks ProductPhoto table extracting the photos and writing them to a file folder.   We just completed developing a web app for a client. And like i usually do, i added developed by "My Company" at the footer at a very small insignificat size. I sent the client an Eend user license stating some of the following in summary you can't resell, redistribute, etc without our notice ... you can remove the attribution or design credits the client got back to me and complained, telling me now that he was also developing for someone, and that 'I can't add my attribution' without his/her consent, but? Although i sign a NDA with in summary states that i cannot disclose the software to anyone else There was no agreement before the project that am not to add design credits or attribution i know every software i install have that, and so is every products from companies, mostly technological products. how does this work (adding design credits) What do you think?
