  • LinkBuilder.BuildUrlFromExpression not working anymore in .Net 4 / VS 2010 ?

    - by Mose
Hi, I recently migrating my ASP.Net MVC 1 application from VS.Net 2008 / C# 3.5 to VS.NET 2010 / C# 4.0. I massively used a builder to get URL strings from the strongly typed calls. It looks like this : // sample call : string toSamplePage = Url.To<SampleController>(c => c.Page(parameter1, parameter2)); the code is added as an extension to the default UrlHelper : public static string To<Tcontroller>(UrlHelper helper, Expression<Action<Tcontroller>> action) where Tcontroller : Controller { // based on Microsoft.Web.Mvc.dll LinkBuilder return LinkBuilder.BuildUrlFromExpression<Tcontroller>(helper.RequestContext, helper.RouteCollection, action); } The only problem of this, is the reference to Microsoft.Web.Mvc dll, but the gain in readability was worth it. Problem : it does not work anymore, return (null) whatever the parameters. Questions : is there a better way now to build links from an expression ? (yes I tried to google it without success) is there a trick to have the former LinkBuilder.BuildUrlFromExpression works ? I tried to recompile it into C# 4.0, but the problem is that it implies working on my own compilated version of System.Web.Mvc which is not an option. I'm currently trying to migrate to MVC 2 but I still have issues... Waiting for your suggestions...

  • Struggling running ASP MVC2 on IIS6.0

    - by Luke
    Hi I could use a little Help using MVC2 on an IIS6.0 Its an MVC2 RC2 [.NET 3.5]. I followed the famous Haacked Tutorial, created a virtual folder, created a Default.aspx Website for my Project, put everything to my virtual folder. The routing is modified, using wildcard mapping [anyway its not running without, too], according to the Tutorial. I also checked, that all Webservices are running [asp.net 2 / asp.net 4 / active server pages]. The routing is working fine on my development machine, even checked it using Haacks routing debugger ... [http://haacked.com/archive/2008/03/13/url-routing-debugger.aspx] Seems fine so far, but I get only 404 - not found errors. Is there something I might be missing ? Global.asax.cs public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}.mvc/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = "" } ); routes.MapRoute( "Root", "", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); } Default.aspx.cs public void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { // Change the current path so that the Routing handler can correctly interpret // the request, then restore the original path so that the OutputCache module // can correctly process the response (if caching is enabled). string originalPath = Request.Path; HttpContext.Current.RewritePath(Request.ApplicationPath, false); IHttpHandler httpHandler = new MvcHttpHandler(); httpHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext.Current); HttpContext.Current.RewritePath(originalPath, false); }

  • Random pauses with "Key dispatching timed out sending to <null>" when closing Android SurfaceView

    - by kenyee
    When I close an Android SurfaceView Activity, the app sometimes pauses and almost gets an ANR (Application Not Responding) message. Looking at LogCat, it appears to be timing out trying to send keys to it. I tried modifying the code to setFocusable(false) when in the onKeyDown handler for the SurfaceView, but that doesn't seem to affect this. Any other ideas on what might be causing this? Or what these messages in Logcat even mean? ============================= 05-31 19:35:35.285: INFO/WindowManager(586): focus null mToken is null at event dispatch! 05-31 19:35:35.295: WARN/WindowManager(586): Current state: {{KeyEvent{action=1 code=4 repeat=0 meta=0 scancode=158 mFlags=8} to null @ 1275334535292 lw=null lb=null fin=true gfw=true ed=true tts=0 wf=false fp=false mcf=null}} 05-31 19:35:35.305: WARN/WindowManager(586): Continuing to wait for key to be dispatched 05-31 19:35:40.306: WARN/WindowManager(586): Key dispatching timed out sending to 05-31 19:35:40.316: WARN/WindowManager(586): Dispatch state: {{KeyEvent{action=0 code=4 repeat=0 meta=0 scancode=158 mFlags=8} to Window{43763540 com.myapp/com.myapp.DiagramEdit paused=false} @ 1275334499512 lw=Window{43763540 com.myapp/com.myapp.DiagramEdit paused=false} lb=android.os.BinderProxy@43702190 fin=false gfw=true ed=true tts=0 wf=false fp=false mcf=null}} 05-31 19:35:40.326: INFO/WindowManager(586): focus null mToken is null at event dispatch! 05-31 19:35:40.326: WARN/WindowManager(586): Current state: {{KeyEvent{action=1 code=4 repeat=0 meta=0 scancode=158 mFlags=8} to null @ 1275334540327 lw=null lb=null fin=true gfw=true ed=true tts=0 wf=false fp=false mcf=null}} 05-31 19:35:40.326: WARN/WindowManager(586): Continuing to wait for key to be dispatched

  • ASP.NET MVC in a subfolder (only) on godaddy

    - by Anthony Potts
Okay, I have read many of the routing posts concerning putting asp.net mvc on godaddy. However, I have not come to a solution to my current problem. I am trying to publish an ASP.NET MVC application to a subfolder on godaddy. I have upgraded the account to use IIS 7 and I have included the MVC dlls in \bin\ deployment method. However, I suspect that my route is not correct. Currently, my routes are set up with the standard out of the box route: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); } I have a subdomain set up so that it looks like office.domain.com. The subdomain is pointing at a folder "/office/" which is right off the root folder. (There is not an MVC application installed in the root folder). All of my application has been placed in this 'office' folder. When I hover over the links however, the 'office' portion shows up in the link as well. e.g. Hovering over a link to the customer controller, index action yields "office.domain.com/office/Customer" as the target. This link then gets a 404 when I attempt to go to it. What should my route be to fix this? Is there something I have neglected in setting up the subdomain in godaddy? Is this something I just can't do in godaddy's domain management "tool". Do I need to set up a virtual directory for this instead of just a directory? Update: I changed the IIS settings in godaddy to use integrated pipeline mode, per this discussion and I am no longer getting 404 errors. The application worked just fine as suggested it would.

  • ASP.NET MVC 3: RouteExistingFiles = true seems to have no effect

    - by Oleksandr Kaplun
I'm trying to understand how RouteExistingFiles works. So I've created a new MVC 3 internet project (MVC 4 behaves the same way) and put a HTMLPage.html file to the Content folder of my project. Now I went to the Global.Asax file and edited the RegisterRoutes function so it looks like this: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.RouteExistingFiles = true; //Look for routes before looking if a static file exists routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new {controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional} // Parameter defaults ); } Now it should give me an error when I'm requesting a localhost:XXXX/Content/HTMLPage.html since there's no "Content" controller and the request definitely hits the default pattern. But instead I'm seeing my HTMLPage. What am I doing wrong here? Update: I think I'll have to give up. Even if I'm adding a route like this one: routes.MapRoute("", "Content/{*anything}", new {controller = "Home", action = "Index"}); it still shows me the content of the HTMLPage. When I request a url like ~/Content/HTMLPage I'm getting the Index page as expected, but when I add a file extenstion like .html or .txt the content is shown (or a 404 error if the file does not exist). If anyone can check this in VS2012 please let me know what result you're getting. Thank you.

  • MVC2: Validate PartialView before Form Submit of Page containing Partial View

    - by Pascal
I am using asp.net mvc2 and having a basic Page that includes a Partial View within a form <% using (Html.BeginForm()) { %> <% Html.RenderAction("partialViewActionName", "Controllername"); %> <input type="submit" value="Weiter" /> <% } %> When I submit the form, the httpPost Action of my Page is called, and AFTER that the httpPost Action of my Partial View is called [HttpPost] public virtual ActionResult PagePostMethod(myModel model) { // here I should know about the validation of my partial View // If partialView.ModelState is valid then // return View("success"); // else return View(model) } [HttpPost] public virtual ActionResult partialViewActionName(myModel model) { ModelState.AddModelError("Error"); return View(model); } But as I am doing the Validation in the httpPost Method of my Partial View (because I want to use my Partial View in several Places) I cant decide if my hole page is valid or not. Has anyone an Idea how I could do this? Isn´t it a common task to have several partial Views in a page but have the information about validation in the page action methods? Thanks very much for your help!!

  • Geting SelectList to MVC view using AJAX/jQuery

    - by Chris
Hi all. I have a C# MVC application which is populating a dropdown based on a date selected. Once the date is selected I am sending it to an action via AJAX/jQuery. The action gets a list of items to return for that date. Here is where my problem is. I have done it previously where I render a partial view from the action and pass it the SelectList as the model. However, I really just want to do it inline in the original view, so I'm hoping there is some way I can return the SelectList and from there do some magic Javascript/JQuery to put it into a dropdown. Has anybody ever done this before? If so, what do I on the client end after calling the load() to return the SelectList? I've done something like this previously, when I was just returning a string or other value to be rendered as straight text: $("#returnTripRow").load("/Trip.aspx/GetTripsForGivenDate?date=" + escape(selection)); But I'm not sure how to intercept the data and morph it into am Html.DropDown() call, or equivalent. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris

  • ASP.NET MVC2 Routing Issue With StructureMap

    - by alphadogg
So, in global.asax, I have: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.IgnoreRoute(" { *favicon }", new { favicon = @"(.*/)?favicon.ico(/.*)?" }); routes.IgnoreRoute("{*robotstxt}", new { robotstxt = @"(.*/)?robots.txt(/.*)?" }); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); } protected void Application_Start() { var container = new Container(); ServiceLocator.SetLocatorProvider(() => new StructureMapServiceLocator(container)); ComponentRegistrar.Register(container); Debug.WriteLine(container.WhatDoIHave()); // original MVC2 code at project startup AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } and in my StructureMapControllerFactory, I have: protected override IController GetControllerInstance(RequestContext requestContext, Type controllerType) { if (requestContext == null) { throw new ArgumentNullException("requestContext"); } if (controllerType == null) { //return base.GetControllerInstance(requestContext, controllerType); controllerType = GetControllerType(requestContext, "Home"); requestContext.RouteData.Values["Controller"] = "Home"; requestContext.RouteData.Values["action"] = "Index"; } try { return theContainer.GetInstance(controllerType) as Controller; } catch (StructureMapException) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(theContainer.WhatDoIHave()); throw; } } Now, normally, in most examples you find on the net, when controllerType is null, you have the commented out line (base.GetControllerInstance()) that handles it. However, if I use that, I get an error about not finding the controller for default.aspx when the controllerType is null at startup of the web app. If I force the use of the Home controller, I get the site to appear. What am I doing wrong? Is it a problem in routing?

  • Routing in php vs routing in rails..

    - by piemesons
I was working on php from past 1 yr and now a days i m learning rails. In rails:-- Routing takes an incoming URL and decodes it into a set of parameters that are used by Rails to dispatch to the appropriate controller and action for example rs.recognize_path "/blog/show/123" {:controller=>"blog", :action=>"show", :id=>"123"} M i right?? We mention this (written down) line of code in our routes.rb under config directory to tell rails how to handle the request like "/blog/show/123" using this line of code. map.connect "blog/show/:id", :controller => "blog", :action => "show", :id => /\d+/ Fine.. Now in php when we do something like this www.xxx.com/profile.php?profile_id=2 How the request is sent to the requested page. Means i never wrote anything for routing in php, then how this request has been handled. How the rounting is done in php (anything i missed during my learning/working in php) R u getting what i am asking. Please let me know if there is any problem.

  • ASP.net MVC HttpException strange file not found

    - by Paddy
I'm running asp.net MVC site on IIS6 - I've edited my routing to look like the following: routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}.aspx/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); routes.MapRoute( "Root", "", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); So all my urls now contain .aspx (as per one of the solutions from Phil Haack). Now, I catch all unhandled exceptions using Elmah, and for almost every page request, I get the following error caught by Elmah, that I never see on the front end (everything works perfectly): System.Web.HttpException: The file '/VirtualDirectoryName/Home.aspx' does not exist. System.Web.HttpException: The file '/VirtualDirectoryName/Home.aspx' does not exist. at System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVirtualPathObjectFactory(VirtualPath virtualPath, HttpContext context, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean noAssert) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(VirtualPath virtualPath, Type requiredBaseType, HttpContext context, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean noAssert) at System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory.GetHandlerHelper(HttpContext context, String requestType, VirtualPath virtualPath, String physicalPath) at System.Web.UI.PageHandlerFactory.System.Web.IHttpHandlerFactory2.GetHandler(HttpContext context, String requestType, VirtualPath virtualPath, String physicalPath) at System.Web.HttpApplication.MapHttpHandler(HttpContext context, String requestType, VirtualPath path, String pathTranslated, Boolean useAppConfig) at System.Web.HttpApplication.MapHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) There is a Home controller, and it should be found, but I'm not sure a) where this is being called from, and b) why I don't see this error on the front end. Any ideas? Edited with answer: I think the answer for this can be found in this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34194/asp-net-mvc-on-iis6

  • ASP.Net MVC View and Controller file structure

    - by Jit
I am very confused the View and corresponding controller has to be set in MVC 1.0 project structure. Currently in a default application we have About.aspx page under Home folder and all the controller action is handled in HomeController. This controller mixes up Home action and About action. It makes things messy. I like to have clear separation of my controller. Like to have one About Controller and HomeCotroller separately. For it I have create another folder "About" under view folder and place Aboput.aspx in it , otherwise we will get the error below. How can I achieve it ?? I like to have exact folder structure as in View, same as in Cotroller. The view 'About' or its master could not be found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/About/About.aspx ~/Views/About/About.ascx ~/Views/Shared/About.aspx ~/Views/Shared/About.ascx Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: The view 'About' or its master could not be found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/About/About.aspx ~/Views/About/About.ascx ~/Views/Shared/About.aspx ~/Views/Shared/About.ascx I like to have folders like \iew\About.aspx and Cotroller\AboutController.cs or \View\Info\About.aspx and \Controller\Info\AboutController.cs. This will make my project and code very cleanly placed and good to maintain. Thanks in advance for helping

  • seam page parameters not working as expected.

    - by rangalo
Hi, I am learning seam and following a very famous book Seam In Action by Dan Allen. This is an example from this book. Seam 2.2.0.GA JBoss 5.1.0.GA Here the page parameter roundId is always null even after a round is serialized, it is never passed. Neither to Roud.xhtml nor to RoundEdit.xhtml after clicking save on RoundEdit.xhtml. The entity always stays unmanaged. • Rails PDF Generation with Prawn in IE7

    - by fluid_chelsea
I'm using Prawn and Prawnto to generate a PDF in a Ruby on Rails app (Rails version 2.2.2) which works great and generates PDFs happily and sends them to the user to download in Firefox. The problem is in IE7. I have a route set up like so: map.invoice_pdf '/invoices.pdf', :controller => 'invoices', :action => 'index', :format => 'pdf' Which I then have a link like so to call: invoice_pdf_path(:year => params[:year], :month => params[:month], :unpaid_only => params[:unpaid_only]) And the following in my controller: def index params[:year] = default params[:year] params[:month] = default params[:month] params[:page] ||= 1 @invoices = Arobl.find_invoices_for_customer(current_customer.strCustomerID, params) respond_to do |format| format.html{ render :action => 'index' } format.pdf{ prawnto :inline => false, :filename => "#{current_customer.strCustomerID}_invoice.pdf" end In FF this works as expected, when the link is clicked the show action is invoked with a format of .pdf, and responds with the correctly named PDF. When it's hit with IE7 it says that the file or website could not be found, and references "invoices.pdf" instead of the expected customer_id_invoice.pdf filename. Any idea what could be causing this behaviour? Thanks!

  • RhinoMocks Testing callback method

    - by joblot
Hi All I have a service proxy class that makes asyn call to service operation. I use a callback method to pass results back to my view model. Doing functional testing of view model, I can mock service proxy to ensure methods are called on the proxy, but how can I ensure that callback method is called as well? With RhinoMocks I can test that events are handled and event raise events on the mocked object, but how can I test callbacks? ViewModel: public class MyViewModel { public void GetDataAsync() { // Use DI framework to get the object IMyServiceClient myServiceClient = IoC.Resolve<IMyServiceClient>(); myServiceClient.GetData(GetDataAsyncCallback); } private void GetDataAsyncCallback(Entity entity, ServiceError error) { // do something here... } } ServiceProxy: public class MyService : ClientBase, IMyServiceClient { // Constructor public NertiAdminServiceClient(string endpointConfigurationName, string remoteAddress) : base(endpointConfigurationName, remoteAddress) { } // IMyServiceClient member. public void GetData(Action<Entity, ServiceError> callback) { Channel.BeginGetData(EndGetData, callback); } private void EndGetData(IAsyncResult result) { Action<Entity, ServiceError> callback = result.AsyncState as Action<Entity, ServiceError>; ServiceError error; Entity results = Channel.EndGetData(out error, result); if (callback != null) callback(results, error); } } Thanks

  • Passing a string in Html.ActionLink in MVC 2

    - by 109221793
I have completed the MVC Music Store application, and now am making my own modifications for practice, and also to prepare me to do similar tasks in my job. What I have done, is create a view that displays the current list of users. I have done this as I want to be able to change the passwords of users should they forget them. Here is a snippet from my view: <% foreach (MembershipUser user in Model) { %> <tr> <td><%: Html.ActionLink(user.UserName, "changeUserPassword", "StoreManager", new { username = user.UserName }) %></td> <td><%: user.LastActivityDate %></td> <td><%: user.IsLockedOut %></td> </tr> <% }%> What I want to know, is it possible to pass the username through the actionlink as I have done above. I have registered the following route in the global.asax.cs file, however I am unsure if I have done it correctly: routes.MapRoute( "AdminPassword", //Route name "{controller}/{action}/{username}", //URL with parameters new { controller = "StoreManager", action = "changeUserPassword", username = UrlParameter.Optional }); Here is my GET action: public ActionResult changeUserPassword(string username) { ViewData["username"] = username; return View(); } I have debugged through the code to find that ViewData["username"] = username doesn't populate so it looks like either I have not registered the routes properly, or I simply cannot pass the username using the actionlink like I have. I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

  • Writing files in App_Data causes tempdata to be null

    - by RAMX
    I have a small asp.net MVC 1 web app that can store files and create directories in the App_Data directory. When the write operation succeeds, I add a message to the tempdata and do a redirectToRoute. The problem is that the tempdata is null when the action is executed. If i write the files in a directory outside of the web applications root directory, the tempdata is not null and everything works correctly. Any ideas why writing in the app_data seems to clear the tempdata ? edit: if DRS.Logic.Repository.Manager.CreateFile(path, hpf, comment) writes in the App_Data, TempData will be null in the action being redirected to. if it is a directory out of the web app root it is fine. No exceptions are being thrown. [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Create(int id, string path, FormCollection form) { ViewData["path"] = path; ViewData["id"] = id; HttpPostedFileBase hpf; string comment = form["FileComment"]; hpf = Request.Files["File"] as HttpPostedFileBase; if (hpf.ContentLength != 0) { DRS.Logic.Repository.Manager.CreateFile(path, hpf, comment); TempData["notification"] = "file was created"; return RedirectToRoute(new { controller = "File", action ="ViewDetails", id = id, path = path + Path.GetFileName(hpf.FileName) }); } else { TempData["notification"] = "No file were selected."; return View(); } }

  • How can I combine several Expressions into a fast method?

    - by chillitom
Suppose I have the following expressions: Expression<Action<T, StringBuilder>> expr1 = (t, sb) => sb.Append(t.Name); Expression<Action<T, StringBuilder>> expr2 = (t, sb) => sb.Append(", "); Expression<Action<T, StringBuilder>> expr3 = (t, sb) => sb.Append(t.Description); I'd like to be able to compile these into a method/delegate equivalent to the following: void Method(T t, StringBuilder sb) { sb.Append(t.Name); sb.Append(", "); sb.Append(t.Description); } What is the best way to approach this? I'd like it to perform well, ideally with performance equivalent to the above method. UPDATE So, whilst it appears that there is no way to do this directly in C#3 is there a way to convert an expression to IL so that I can use it with System.Reflection.Emit?

  • What is the best way to route a static controller in Rails?

    - by yuval
I have a static_controller that is in charge of all the static pages in the site and works as follows in routes.rb: map.connect ':id', :controller => 'static', :action => 'show' I have a static page called about that among other information, has a contact form. I currently have a contacts_controller that is in charge of inserting the contact information to the database. Inside my routes.rb file, I have: map.resources :contacts My contact form (simplified) looks like this: <% form_for @contact do |f| %> <p class="errors"><%= f.error_messages %></p> <p> <%= f.label :first_name %> <%= f.text_field :first_name %> </p> <p class="buttons"><%= f.submit %></p> <% end %> Which in turn submits to the create action of my contacts_controller. My create action looks like this: def create @contact = Contact.new(params[:contact]) if @contact.save flash[:notice] = "Email delivered successfully." end redirect_to "about" end The problem is, is the that when I redirect back to my about page the error_messages for the form get lost (since the error_messages for the form only exist for one request, and that request ends upon redirect). How would I go about preserving the error_messages and still linking the users back to the about static url? Would a session/flash be sufficient (if so, what code would I use to pass error messages) or am I going about this whole thing wrong? Thanks!

  • Wicket Authorization Using MetaDataKey

    - by JGirl
I am trying to implement a simple authorization strategy for my Wicket application. I am implemented my own AuthorizationStrategy (extending IAuthorizationStrategy). http://old.nabble.com/Authorization-strategy-help-td18948597.html After reading the above link, I figured it makes more sense to use metadata-driven authorization than one using Annotations. So I have a simple RoleCheck class public class RoleCheck { private String privilege; public RoleCheck(String priv) { this.privilege = priv; } public void setPrivilege(String privilege) { this.privilege = privilege; } public String getPrivilege() { return privilege; } } I add it a component public static MetaDataKey priv = new MetaDataKey() {}; editLink.setMetaData(priv, new RoleCheck("Update")); And in my Authorization Strategy class, I try to get the metadata associated with the component public boolean isActionAuthorized(Component component, Action action) { if (action.equals(Component.RENDER)) { RoleCheck privCheck = (RoleCheck) component.getMetaData(EditControlToolBar.priv); if (privCheck != null) { ... } } However the getMetaData gives an error "Bound mismatch: The generic method getMetaData(MetaDataKey) of type Component is not applicable for the arguments (MetaDataKey). The inferred type RoleCheck is not a valid substitute for the bounded parameter " Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

  • Paperclip wont save image in rails app

    - by Micke
Hello stackoverflow. I am trying to use Paperclip with my rails app to add an avatar to a user but it wont save my image when creating the user. This is what the model looks like: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_attached_file :avatar And the registerform in haml: - form_for :user, @user, :url => { :action => "signup" }, :html => { :multipart => true } do |f| ... ... %li %div{:class => "header"} Profilepicture %div{:class => "input"} = f.file_field :avatar And when i look in the log this is what is being passet to the "signup" action: Parameters: {"commit"=>"Save", "action"=>"signup", "controller"=>"user/register", "user"=>{"name"=>"Micke Lisinge", "birthmonth"=>"07", "password_confirmation"=>"[FILTERED]", "nickname"=>"lisinge", "avatar"=>#<File:/tmp/RackMultipart20100426-3076-1x04oxy-0>, "gen"=>"m", "birthday"=>"23", "password"=>"[FILTERED]", "birthyear"=>"1992", "email"=>"[email protected]"}} [paperclip] Saving attachments. Paperclip says it is saving the template but when i look in the public folder in my app it has created a system but the system folder is empty. So it seems like it isnt saving the picture to the folder. It gets handled by the form and saved in my /tmp folder. Maybe you guys have any tips or know what this problem might be? Thanks in advance, Micke.

  • UITableViewCell Custom accessory - get the row of accessory

    - by Emil
    Hi. I have a pretty big issue. I am trying to create a favorite-button on every UITableViewCell in a UITableView. That works very good, and I currently have an action and selector performed when pressed. accessory = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [accessory setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"star.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; accessory.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 15, 15); accessory.userInteractionEnabled = YES; [accessory addTarget:self action:@selector(didTapStar) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; cell.accessoryView = accessory; And selector: - (void) didTapStar { UITableViewCell *newCell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:???]; accessory = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [accessory setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"stared.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; accessory.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 26, 26); accessory.userInteractionEnabled = YES; [accessory addTarget:self action:@selector(didTapStar) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchDown]; newCell.accessoryView = accessory; } Now, here's the problem: I want to know what row the accessory that was pressed belongs to. How can I do this? Thank you :)

  • TRibbon's large button's image is not centered...any ideas? easy to demonstrate at design-time.

    - by X-Ray
i'm using delphi 2009 (updates 1, 2, 3, 4). i'm seeing something quite peculiar. the image on the button is not centered in the button when i have a large button with a large glyph! rather than being centered, the left part of the glyph starts at the center of the button. a clue is that when i: go into the action editor and select the action use the ImageIndex combobox in the object inspector, the list is empty (normally i'd see the available images in the combobox). it seems as though there's an image width property i've failed to set or an imagelist not correctly configured. i've expected the glyph on a large button should be 32x32. try the following: paste these components into an empty form add a 32x32 image to the image list set the Action1 imageindex to 0 you'll immediately see what i mean! can anyone tell me why it looks that way? i find it interesting that the ribbon demo app doesn't show this problem. i even tried the same image. thank you! object ActionManager1: TActionManager ActionBars = < item Items = < item Action = Action1 Caption = '&Action1' ImageIndex = 0 CommandProperties.ButtonSize = bsLarge end> ActionBar = RibbonGroup1 end> LargeDisabledImages = img3232 LargeImages = img3232 Left = 376 Top = 184 StyleName = 'Ribbon - Luna' object Action1: TAction Caption = 'Action1' ImageIndex = 0 end end object Ribbon1: TRibbon Left = 0 Top = 0 Width = 693 Height = 147 ActionManager = ActionManager1 Caption = 'Ribbon1' Tabs = < item Caption = 'RibbonPage1' Page = RibbonPage1 end> ExplicitLeft = 232 ExplicitTop = 80 ExplicitWidth = 0 DesignSize = ( 693 147) StyleName = 'Ribbon - Luna' object RibbonPage1: TRibbonPage Left = 0 Top = 54 Width = 692 Height = 93 Caption = 'RibbonPage1' Index = 0 object RibbonGroup1: TRibbonGroup Left = 4 Top = 3 Width = 54 Height = 86 ActionManager = ActionManager1 Caption = 'RibbonGroup1' GroupIndex = 0 end end end object img3232: TImageList Height = 32 Width = 32 Left = 376 Top = 256 end
