    I found question on how to spoof user agent. I dont' want to spoof only user agent. I want to spoof everything from user agent, to Accept headers to http headers and also the information javascript can tell about browser - screen resolution and depth, class cpu, platform, device name, etc. Do you know of a way to achieve this in any browser out there ? I don't want 10 plugins to achieve this. I'd like unified way.

  • Multicore system. How are the cores "sorted"

    If I have a system with let's say two Quadcore CPUs and HyperThreading enabled, how do I know how the phsyical and virtual cores are sorted? For example if I force a process to run on "CPU 0" how to know which Core this really is? I remember a complex drawing about this, but didn't find anything useful.

    I have a win 2K3 domain controller that has sudddenly started logging about 60 events a second. All events are ID 538, 540 and 576 All events pertain to Security Audit of the machine itself logging in successfully. a typical entry is Event Id 540 Successful Network Logon: User Name: <machinename>$ Any pointers to how I can diagnose this? CPU and memory are normal on the machine.

    I'm coming from a PC, loaded with a Core 2 Quad CPU and 8GB of DDR2 RAM. I was running Premiere CS3. I'm new to Mac so I'm not sure if this will help performance: Will increasing my 21.5" Core 2 Duo iMac's memory from 4GB (DDR3) to 8GB improve performance of Premiere CS4 significantly? I am not impressed with Premiere as it is now. The iMac is the newest one as of this post.

  • Innotop and Monit to kill thread using too much resources

    Instead of restarting the whole MYSQL process, sometimes I just want to kill the offending thread instead of making everything go down. Usually the spike in CPU is when a bot is crawling the first pages of pagination of my site (over 70.000 paginated results, 45 items per page). Is there a way I could do this automatically using monit and innotop? I couldn't find relevant information on Google, that's why I'm asking here. If these two tools aren't par to the task, which ones should I use?

    I have two SATA HDDs in my desktop PC (one for daily activity, one for storage and backup). I can finely use ReadyBoost with pendrives, but I wonder, Is there a way I could use my underutilized second HDD to participate in the cacheing mechanism (same concept as having two CPU cores crunch things in parallel: have two HDDs fetch data in parallel)? Clearly speaking: I want to enable ReadyBoost on my separate D: drive.

Sadly, data transfer speeds are at max 3 MB/sec per connection which works out slow for file transfers, especially when transferring large files.     I have a server that has been running at high CPU load due to MySQL activity, when i run the command mysqladmin pr i often see a few queries with the state "writing to net". I had a look around and couldn't find much out about this other than the fact i read somewhere that this shouldnt be expected in usual MySQL activity. Any ideas what this could mean? Running MySQL 5.0.91-community on CentOS 4.8

  • No output in Linux Keyboard Logger running in VirtualBox

    I'm trying to run LKL (Linux Keyboard Logger) in a Ubuntu 9.04 VirtualBox VM (VirtualBox 2.2.2 running on a XP host). The package installs fine, but when I try to run it lkl -l -k /usr/share/lkl/keymaps/us_km -o ./kbd.log & it hogs the CPU usage to 50% and never logs a keystroke (in fact the kbd.log file is never created) Any clues? TIA

    How costly (CPU or memory wise) is it to have multiple instances of SQL server 2005 instead of only one instance with prefixed databases? A company have three application providers. They each will install one application and they each require two or three databases. Should they all use the same instance or should every provider use it's own named instance?     I have a Server running Ubuntu 10.10 Server-Edition kvm, and libvirt (both ubuntu-native packages) HDD-Partitioning was done with LVM. Then I created some VMs with Virt-Manager and assigned LVM-Volumes to the VMs. Now the VMs do not boot. Virt-Manager shows a CPU-Usage of 100% for this Guest and the VNC-Connection states Booting from Hard Disk The VM-specific logfiles do not show any abnormality only syslog shows a warning warning : qemudParsePCIDeviceStrs:1422 : Unexpected exit status '1', qemu probably failed What can I do to find the error?

For example, would there be a close to 16 times speed-up on a 16 core system assuming no disk or memory bottlenecks?   • MS Publisher 2003 - hangs when saving to desktop

    We have a win 7 home prem pc, amd cpu, 8G ram, plenty of free disk space. Whenever user is working in publisher 20003, and tries to save a publisher 2003 document to the desktop, the save as dialog hangs and takes 2-3 minutes to display the desktop save location. I've tested excel 2003, it has no problems immediately displaying the desktop save as location and saving the file.

    When considering obtaining a new computer one of my prerequisites is the ability to load Windows 8 in a virtual machine (using VirtualBox). A prerequisite for that is that the host computer have virtualization technology. I located an Intel cross reference of chips having virtualization technology but I am trying to find a "higher level" cross reference between computer models and virtualization technology availability, skipping the extra step of having to first look up what CPU chip is in a machine, then cross-referencing that on Intel's list.

    Forgive me if this seems like a dumb question, but I'm wondering how do I increase the processing power (cpu, memory) of an instance I already have running. Right now I have a web server running on a m1.small type instance and it's performing poorly at peak times, is it possible to increase the amount of memory on the instance somehow, or do I need to create a new EC2 install. What are my options. Please advise.
