  • Converting local timestamp to UTC timestamp in Java.

    - by fiXedd
I have a milliseconds-since-local-epoch timestamp that I'd like to convert into a milliseconds-since-UTC-epoch timestamp. From a quick glance through the docs it looks like something like this would work: int offset = TimeZone.getDefault().getRawOffset(); long newTime = oldTime - offset; Is there a better way to do this?

  • Setting up SSL on a local xampp/apache server

    - by cvack
I'm trying to access a Active Directory from my local webserver. To do this I'm using the latest version of xampp and a PHP script called adLDAP. If I understand things right, I need to enable SSL to access https URLs. I've tried to google it but with no luck :( Could anyone link a tutorial or explain to me how to install SSL on xampp/apache for windows 7 64bit? Any help would be appreciated :)

  • Facebook iframe application redirects to local server

    - by PHP thinker
I am using FaceBook application inside iframe. But when I try to access it using url like http://apps.facebook.com/myapp, it immediately redirects me to my lhttp://localhost:8080 application, which I intended to keep in frame. I assume that my local application should stay in frame, while the general container would be FB site itself, but something is wrong. Any hints?

  • VS2010 and local databases

    - by Darren
Is it possible to connect to a local database (in the app_data folder) using the Data - Transact SQL Editor in Visual Studio 2010? When I launch the Transact SQL Editor from VS2010 I get the "Microsoft SQL Server 2008 RC" connect to server dialog. The options I have for Server type are "Database Engine" and "SQL Server Compact"

  • Passing local variables to Erlydtl block

    - by Justin
Hi, I've got a block of erlydtl code which I use repeatedly and would like to abstract to some kind of block / partial template. The issue is that I need to pass the block a local variable. This is possible with Rails partial templates; it looks like it's possible with Django's blocks [albeit with some kind of Python hackery]; I'm wondering if it's possible with Erlydtl [Erlang implementation of Django templates] Ideas ? Thanks you.

  • heroku time zone problem, logging local server time

    - by Ole Morten Amundsen
UPDATE: Ok, I didn't formulate a good Q to be answered. I still struggle with heroku being on -07:00 UTC and I at +02:200 UTC. Q: How do I get the log written in the correct Time.zone ? The 9 hours difference, heroku (us west) - norway, is distracting to work with. I get this in my production.log (using heroku logs): Processing ProductionController#create to xml (for 81.26.51.35 at 2010-04-28 23:00:12) [POST] How do I get it to write 2010-04-29 08:00:12 +02:00 GMT ? Note that I'm running at heroku and cannot set the server time myself, as one could do at your amazon EC2 servers. Below is my previous question, I'll leave it be as it holds some interesting information about time and zones. Why does Time.now yield the server local time when I have set the another time zone in my environment.rb config.time_zone = 'Copenhagen' I've put this in a view <p> Time.zone <%= Time.zone %> </p> <p> Time.now <%= Time.now %> </p> <p> Time.now.utc <%= Time.now.utc %> </p> <p> Time.zone.now <%= Time.zone.now %> </p> <p> Time.zone.today <%= Time.zone.today %> </p> rendering this result on my app at heroku Time.zone (GMT+01:00) Copenhagen Time.now Mon Apr 26 08:28:21 -0700 2010 Time.now.utc Mon Apr 26 15:28:21 UTC 2010 Time.zone.now 2010-04-26 17:28:21 +0200 Time.zone.today 2010-04-26 Time.zone.now yields the correct result. Do I have to switch from Time.now to Time.zone.now, everywhere? Seems cumbersome. I truly don't care what the local time of the server is, it's giving me loads of trouble due to extensive use of Time.now. Am I misunderstanding anything fundamental here?

  • Override the Local module directory for cvs using Hudson

    - by Roberto
Hi guys, I'm using Hudson and I need to change the checkout directory for cvs. Instead of checkout/update the project under the workspace dir, I'd like to specify a dir (as you can do for svn, changing the Local module directory conf) that will match the cvs tree structure. Eg. under cvs dir1/dir2/project on my box workspace/dir1/dir2/project is that possible with cvs and Hudson? Maybe there's a way to override the cvs call? Thanks! Roberto

  • Rails deployment from a windows machine

    - by Kenji Crosland
I'm a rails novice and just finished my first rails app(as far as I can tell). Now I'm at the deployment stage and find myself utterly confused--especially because I'm deploying from a windows machine. I bought the pragmatic book on deployment and it seems a little out of date since they're recommending subversion instead of Git. What would be the easiest deployment method these days for someone doomed to use windows? Are there any good up-to-date tutorials on deployment from Windows?

  • A Turing Machine Question

    - by Hellnar
Greetings, I have been struggling to find a question regarding this theoretical question, even tho it is not directly a programming question, I believe it is really related. Assume a type of Turing machine which cannot have more than 1000 squares. What would be the relationship between the set of such type of recognizable languages and set of normal recognizable languages.

  • using FUSLOGVW.EXE on a machine with no Visual Studio installed

    - by Gerrie Schenck
I'm currently having some assembly binding problems on our development server. I want to investigate the problem a bit further with Fusion Log Viewer. Since there is no Visual Studio installed on the machine, I copied FUSLOGVW.EXE to a local folder and started it there. Is this supposed to work or does it need something else? I don't get the impression the application is logging any failures (and yes I have the settings right).
