  • Is there server-side code which is not cross browser compatible?

    Was there a case in any server-side language where a code did not work in a browser while it did work in the rest? I am asking this because I can't imagine such a scenario because server-side code runs in the server, not in the browser but I have seen discussions where, as said, there were "server-side browser compatibility issues". I can't seem to recall where I have read it. Thanks in advance :)

    Am surprised there's 3 different forms: RawConfigParser, SafeConfigParser and ConfigParser. I read the differences but why isn't everyone using SafeConfigParser, since it seems, well, safe? I can understand that in the case for Python 2 that the other two were kept for backward compatibility.

Its looking like Asp.Net session object and WCF Session( HTTPContext.Current.Session) work independently. How can I share Asp.net Session value to WCF Session and vise versa.

    Intro When saving png images through GIMP, I've always used level 9 (maximum) compression, as I knew that it's lossless. Now I've to specify compression level when saving png format image through GD extension of PHP. Question Is there any case when I shouldn't compress PNG to maximum level? Like any compatibility issues? If there's no problem then why to ask user; why not automatically compress to max?

The testing environment would be (XP: IE6,FF3.6), (XP: IE7,Chrome), (XP: IE8,Safari), (MacOsX: Safari, FF3.6, Chrome), (Ubuntu: FF3.6, Chrome) Of course I want it all in one machine, my initial thought was Using a MacOsX as a host machine and use virtual box to install 3 xp and one ubuntu on it.     Hi, I wanna do some local developer tests of IIS 7 but I don't have Windows Vista, 7 or 2008 server - I currently run XP SP3. I have Virtual PC installed so I can use Microsoft's IE compatibility images - are there any time-limited images that I can use with Virtual PC so I can check out IIS 7? The IIS 7 "Try it" link points to this page. But the VHS is for Windows Server platforms only I think and I don't want an ISO? Any advice?

I tried .onclick = new Function("showRapidText('" + itemnum + "')"); and .onclick = new Function("return showRapidText('" + itemnum + "')"); and about 40 other ways but nothing works

  • UIView fine for iPhone 4in, but squashed in iPhone 3.5in

    I started a new project in the new Xcode, and I see that my default the main window is set to 320x548. I'm fine with that, but when I test my app, a view I added to my main xib, which is supposed to be 280x280, looks more like 280x200 when testing on 3.5in devices. I've tried changing the settings for that view in the xib, but nothing seems to affect it. How do I ensure background compatibility so that in older devices the view is the same size?
