Displaying code with <pre> tags.

Currently I'm using <pre><code> code here </code><pre> to display code. I'm pulling this information from a DB for a blog. The problem I'm having is that some of the code isn't showing. Controller actions appear to be synchronous though on different requests?

What's the proper method to do this? An Erroneous SQL Query makes browser hang until script timeout exceeded

I have an admin page in a Classic ASP web application that allows the admin user to run queries against the database (SQL Server 2000) Whats really strange is that if the query you send has an error in it (an invalid table join, a column you've forgotten to group by etc) the BROWSER hangs (CPU usage goes to maximum) until the SERVER script timeout is exceeded and then spits out a timeout exceeded error (server and browser are on different machines, so not sure how this happens!) I have tried this in IE 8 and FF 3 with the same result. If you run that same query (with errors) directly from SQL Enterprise Manager, it returns the real error immediately. Is this a security feature? Does anyone know how to turn it off? PHP sql with foreach loop variable problem

This is really getting frustrating. I have a text file that I'm reading for a list of part numbers that goes into an array. I'm using the following foreach function to search a database for matching numbers. $file = file('parts_array.txt'); foreach ($file as $newPart) { $sql = "SELECT products_sku FROM products WHERE products_sku='" . $newPart . "'"; $rs = mysql_query($sql); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($rs); echo $num_rows; echo "<br />"; } The problem is I'm getting 0 rows returned from mysql_num_rows. I can type the sql statement without the variable and it works perfectly. I can even echo out the sql statement from this script, copy and paste the statement from the browser and it works. But, for some reason I'm not getting any records when I'm using the variable. I've used variables in sql statements tons of times, but this really has me stumped.

ajax call success function never called

Use CSS3 nth-child to alternate the float of images within DIV tags...

Basically, what I'm trying to create is a page of div tags, each has an image inside them and I'm trying to use CSS3's nth-child to alternate the float of that specific image. But for the life of me, I can't get the nth-child to locate those images. Here is my code so far... Echoing users by group name in PHP

What I want to do is click a name of a group(every group what I create other than poweruser and admin groups) and that will echo all of the users in that group from the database. I have figured out the code so far but now my problem is how will I print it all out when clicking the name of the group? Have Microsoft changed how ASP.NET MVC deals with duplicate action method names?

I might be missing something here, but in ASP.NET MVC 4, I can't get the following to work. Given the following controller: public class HomeController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { return View(); } [HttpPost] public ActionResult Index(string order1, string order2) { return null; } } and it's view: @{ ViewBag.Title = "Home"; } @using (Html.BeginForm()) { @Html.TextBox("order1")<br /> @Html.TextBox("order2") <input type="submit" value="Save"/> } When start the app, all I get is this: The current request for action 'Index' on controller type 'HomeController' is ambiguous between the following action methods: System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult Index() on type ViewData.Controllers.HomeController System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult Index(System.String, System.String) on type ViewData.Controllers.HomeController Now, in ASP.NET MVC 3 the above works fine, I just tried it, so what's changed in ASP.NET MVC 4 to break this? OK there could be a chance that I'm doing something silly here, and not noticing it. EDIT: I notice that in the MVC 4 app, the Global.asax.cs file did not contain this: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); } which the MVC 3 app does, by default. So I added the above to the MVC 4 app but it fails with the same error. Note that the MVC 3 app does work fine with the above route. I'm passing the "order" data via the Request.Form. EDIT: In the file RouteConfig.cs I can see RegisterRoutes is executed, with the following default route: routes.MapRoute( name: "Default", url: "{controller}/{action}/{id}", defaults: new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); I still get the original error, regards ambiguity between which Index() method to call.

Why are changes to classes ignored after dom changes?

I have a price grid that uses relative positioning to move a field around, beneath a box with: overflow: hidden;. In this is field, there are absolute-positioned boxes containing prices. When this box is hovered, the matching values above and left of the will change color. In order to achieve this, a class is toggled using jQuery. This initially works. However, after the grid is moved, the class change doesn't affect the block above the grid anymore. In the Chrome console, i can see the class being added, but it's css-styling isn't applied. No other styles for the element have changed. I am 100% sure there is no other style-rule influencing the element, it just stops responding to the change in class after the DOM has been altered. Can i 'refresh' the DOM somehow? jQuery remove SELECT options based on another SELECT selected on change and on load

I'm using the following jQuery code to remove options from a select and it is working well. But instead of it only executing when the theOption2 select is changed I would also like it to work when the page is loaded depending on the selected item that is selected. I tried using the a copy of the script and changing the .change to .load and also tried using (window).load without the desired results. Essentially, I need the script to execute on change of the Options1 and on the loading of the page. Hi, I'm working on a Content Management System, and so far so good. I'm trying to get the system to work with a maintenance mode system. This is the code in the script to display the maintenance stuff: if ($maintenance['value'] == "1") {?> <div id="content"> <div id="errmsg"> <?php echo $maintenance['notes']; ?> </div> </div> <? } else {?> <h1><?php echo $title; ?></h1> <hr /><br /> <div id="content"> <?php echo $contents; if (!$content) { include ('includes/error/404.php');}?> </div> <? } ?> I can verify that the $maintenance['value'] variable is working as it should, but this portion o the script isn't working as it should. The value is currently set to 1, but it still displays the stuff in the else. Any ideas?

working with a csv with odd encapsulation // php

I have a CSV file that im working with, and all the fields are comma separated. But some of the fields themselves, contain commas. In the raw csv file, the fields that contain commas, are encapsulated with quotes, as seen here; "Doctor Such and Such, Medical Center","555 Scruff McGruff, Suite 103, Chicago IL 60652",(555) 555-5555,,,,something else the code im using is below <?PHP $file_handle = fopen("file.csv", "r"); $i=0; while (!feof($file_handle) ) { $line = fgetcsv($file_handle, 1024); $c=0; foreach($line AS $key=>$value){ if($i != 0){ if($c == 0){ echo "[ROW $i][COL $c] - $value"; //First field in row, show row # }else{ echo "[COL $c] - $value"; // Remaining fields in row } } $c++; } echo "<br>"; // Line Break to next line $i++; } fclose($file_handle); ?> The problem is im getting the fields with the comma's split into two fields, which messes up the number of columns im supposed to have. Is there any way i could search for comma's within quotes and convert them, or another way to deal with this?
