• Django | Apache | Deploy website behind SSL

  So here are my requirements. I have a website built in Django. I deployed it on Apache Ubuntu. Before there was no SSL involved so the deployment was pretty simple. But now the requirements are changed. Now I have to take a few actions like signup and login behind SSL and present the admin panel and other normally via HTTP. By following the this tutorial I have set-up Apache and SSL and generated certificates for SSL communication. But I am not sure how to proceed, ie. how to serve only a few of my actions through SSL. Below is my configuration. The normal actions are working fine but I don't know how to configure SSL calls.   I must be missing something. Help! My manifest contains: <manifest ...> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" android:targetSdkVersion="7" android:maxSdkVersion="10" /> <application ... I have all API packages installed (through 7 - Android 2.1). Whenever I try to run or debug my app in the emulator, reglardless of which version I start, I get the message in the subject line and I have to click on Cancel in order to continue. After that, the device chooser appears: and I can select a device and the app starts up fine in the Emulator. What do the red Xs mean next to the target? When my Nexus One is cradled, I do not get the warning that there is no compatible device. I can live with the extra click, but I am concerned that my up does not properly register the target API level and that this will cause problems once uploaded to the market.

• changing selenium domain/subdomain within cucumber scenarios

  So, I have a Rails webapp that utilizes subdomains for separating the admin functionality from the public functionality using subdomain-fu. So there is functionality(that I want to test!) contained within two urls(eg admin.example.com and www.example.com). I want some scenarios to run against the admin domain, and some against the www domain. My problem is that I cant figure out how to change the domain that selenium uses at any time after startup. I can put something like this in my env.rb: Webrat.configure do |config| config.mode = :selenium config.application_address = "admin.example.com" end And it will work, but only for the scenarios that need the admin domain. If I try something like: host! "www.example.com" inside my steps, well it seems to just be ignored by selenium, which goes on using "admin.example.com" Any ideas? Or if its not possible, any ideas for a workaround?

• Injection with google guice does not work anymore after obfuscation with proguard

  Has anyone ever tried to combine the use of google guice with obfuscation (in particular proguard)? The obfuscated version of my code does not work with google guice as guice complains about missing type parameters. This information seems to be erased by the transformation step that proguard does, even when the relevant classes are excluded from the obfuscation. NOTE: If I instead use ActionLink to render a different action like "Default," the ActionLink renders correctly: <a href="/Admin/Default">admin</a> The fact that the "Default" action renders correctly leads me to believe the problem has to do with the default value specified for the route. Is there anyway to force ActionLink to render the "Index" action as well?

• What's a good way to copy files from a PC to a Windows Mobile device?

  I have a C# application running on a server, and it needs to copy files out to multiple Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. These devices are connected to the network directly via Ethernet-enabled cradles (so they are not connected to a PC via ActiveSync). What different options do I have for doing this? I know RAPI can do this, but I'm not sure if it can copy something directly over the network like this. Also, I know RAPI uses ActiveSync DLLs and thus requires ActiveSync to be installed, and we would prefer to avoid doing this if possible. Is WMI a possibility? Can we use ordinary File.IO if we can somehow get the IP address of each device? Code samples or general knowledge would be most welcome.

  I am working on a site that must be designed with mobile accessibility in mind. As part of our brainstorming, we wondered whether it's possible to detect, for a mobile browser (i.e. Mobile Safari or the Android browser), when the viewing device has changed orientation, and to use that as a trigger to change page content? As the title of this question implies, our best-case scenario is the ability to detect the orientation change and use it to alter the CSS on the fly so as to present a slightly different page for landscape versus portrait. Of course we can just design for a page that looks good one way and make it obvious that it's supposed to be viewed that way, but the cool-stuff factor of a page that looks good either way is pretty appealing. Is this idea implementable? Practical?

I used the "build_for_iphoneos.sh" script available in PocketSphinx SVN and SphinxBase. Program working without any issues when i try it on simulator, today I try to deploy on device and it's giving me this error? can any one help me solve this please? I'm trying to connect to an embedded device with a BlueSMiRF Gold chip. My working Python code (using the PyBluez library), which I'd like to port to Android, is as follows: sock = bluetooth.BluetoothSocket(proto=bluetooth.RFCOMM) sock.connect((device_addr, 1)) return sock.makefile() ...so the service to connect to is simply defined as channel 1, without any SDP lookup. As the only documented mechanism I see in the Android API does SDP lookup of a UUID, I'm slightly at a loss.

  The documentation says that if I want to support both portrait and landscape, I basically have two ways of doing that: Set up the viewcontroller's view so that the subviews autoresize correctly and make smaller changes programmatically at runtime If the changes are more substantial, create an alternative landscape interface and push/pop the alternative modal viewcontroller at runtime I would like to present the info where the layout is substantially different, but logic is the same. Ideally, I would load another XIB for the same viewcontroller, but it does not seem to be an option. Sounds like #2 is what I need to do, but my problem with that is that it sounds like it would use the standard modalviewcontroller animations that are nothing like the device rotation animation. (Of course, being the lazywebber that I am, I did not test this hypothesis.) So, how do I load an alternative layout for landscape with the same viewcontroller but different XIB? Should I use the method #2 above and is the rotation animation natural? Or is there some other way?

  We're building an Android app with target SDK 1.6, so it will run on 1.6 devices and higher. We'd like to support Live Wallpapers, which we know is 2.1+ only. Is there a way to build one app with 1.6 SDK as the target, but detect if the device it's running on is 2.1, and only in that scenario call the live wallpaper API. We're trying to avoid having to build a separate 1.6 and 2.1 versions, and would like to be able to support Live Wallpapers for only 2.1 devices. So to be clear- 1 app, that can support 1.6 and higher, and support live wallpapers for 2.1 devices. Any way of doing this?

I am thinking of creating a deamon that would: upon start rename /dev/tty.baseband to /dev/tty.baseband.old. create a raw node /dev/tty.baseband spawn two threads: Thread 1: reading /dev/tty.baseband.old writing into /dev/tty.baseband Thread 2: reading /dev/tty.baseband writing into /dev/tty.baseband.old This would work a little bit like a MITM process. I wonder if there is not a 'standard' way to do this.

• Whats wrong with this task queue setup?

  I've setup this task queue implementation on a site I host for a customer, it has a cron job which runs each morning at 2am "/admin/tasks/queue", this queues up emails to be sent out, "/admin/tasks/email", and uses cursors so as to do the queuing in small chunks. For some reason last night /admin/tasks/queue kept getting run by this code and so sent out my whole quota of emails :/.   In my application, i am trying to find all files of particular extension (like .pdf, .txt, etc) that are stored in the whole device (not only in Home Directory) and want to list them in table View. Is it possible to do so and if it is then can i associate file of specific extension to get it open in supporting application (any third party plug-ins).I went through numerous documentation but couldn't find the solution. • Why does the release build of my iPhone app crash on the device on the first run after installation?

  I have an iPhone app that's been in development for about 2 weeks. We recently tried the "release" version of the build on a device, and to our great unhappiness, it crashes in one of the views with an "EXC_BAD_ACCESS". This crash only occurs on devices, and only in the "release" build. Not only that, but it only happens the first time the app is launched! It is also 100% reproducible. We have removed the small block of code that deals with data persistence, and have tried re-openning Xcode, cleaning the project, deleting and reinstalling the app, etc., as some other questions suggest. Do you have any advice for a) what might be causing this problem, and b) how to go about debugging if it only happens in "release"? Thanks

I have an ASP.NET MVC web application, where I'd like to have a separate "admin" area (accessible via http://example.com/admin) and a regular area, available for all users. In both these parts of the site I have a /blogs section, but when accessing http://example.com/admin/blogs I want to be presented with admin interface for blogs, whereas usual http://example.com/blogs should just list all blogs. And the problem itself is: how do I get ASP.NET MVC to instantiate appropriate controllers, provided that there are two BlogsControllers: one in Site.Admin namespace, and the other is in Site.Sitefront namespace? Granted, I could rename admin controller to BlogsAdminController, but I'd like to keep the names as they already are.

  I want to create a .NET CF application for Windows Mobile 5. In this application, I want to load a COM object based on the ProgID (or CLSID). How do I load this COM object in such a way that I can access its methods as if it were just another .NET object? In addition: how can I configure the projects / solutions in Visual Studio in such a way, that when I debug the application, I am sure that the COM object that is loaded is the one that is installed on the device, not one that may be accessible through the debugger? I have tried adding the .ocx file as a Reference, but I get an error, and I am not sure about 'question 2'. I have also tried loading the COM object using Type type = Type.GetTypeFromProgID("my.prog.id") MyObject myObject = (MyObject)Activator.CreateInstance(type) ...but this results in an InvalidCastException on the second line.

When I enter /Pages/List, the Action method is hit but the view is not found,because the app is searching in wrong directories ~/Views/Pages/List.aspx ~/Views/Pages/List.ascx ~/Views/Shared/List.aspx ~/Views/Shared/List.ascx the view is in /Admin/Pages/List. My routing conf for Admin area: public class AdminAreaRegistration : AreaRegistration { public override string AreaName { get { return "Admin"; } } public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Admin_default", "Admin/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller= "Pages",action = "Index", id = "" } ); } }
