  • Wanderlust or other imap mail reader on native windows emacs

    Hello, I'm trying to get my windows based emacs to handle mails. Is there any emacs based mail reader that would run on windows? By running, I mean fetch from imap, show and reply to mails without external applications. I've heard many good things about Wanderlust but the webpage suggests it is not supported. Any suggestions?   • Motherboard will fully reboot, except with reset/shutdown button.

    Hello Everyone, I have a intel d525mw motherboard, on which I have ubuntu server. When I go to reboot my machine, it goes to the restart prompt and then just hangs there. I have also noticed this when I had freebsd on it. It kills everything and drops to a shell view where the final line reads something like "[timestamp] restarting now" and then it just sits there and I manually have to reboot it. Any idea what could be causing this?

    Hello, I installed Windows 7 on VMWare and it works just fine! However, when I leave the machine idling and work on my host OS, Windows 7 decides that it is a good idea to thrash disk and kill performance. How do I disable these background processes? Is it just indexer?

    Hello, I am searching to set the clock of w2k8 in UTC, in w2k3 you could choose the Coordinated Universal time in the option of the clock. (you can still in Vista) Now in w2k8 there is only GMT timezone and no trace of the Coordinated Universal Time a s a choice. Anyone knows how to do it ? Regards

    Hello, I have a file hosting site and I want to know what should be the apache log format/code to log records for only filesizes above 5mb that were served as download/output bandwidth So log looks like this visitors_ip filepath(or filename) output bandwidth One more thing data should be recorded ONLY FOR COMPLETED DOWNLOADS which I believe is checked through %X I think output bandwidth is same as the filesize that was served as download if whole file is downloaded.   • raid 0 failure, drives look fine

    Hello, after a lovely blue screen my vista 64 machine decided to reconfigure one of my drives to no longer be part of my raid volume. So now my raid fails as it only has one member disk. This happened to me about 6 months ago and I just changed the disk in question back to a raid disk and all was well. However I cant seem to find that option in my bios or raid config anymore :( Any help would be appreciated

    Hello, i have a weired problem here, i'm running windows vista which is connected to the internet throught a 3g key, so sometimes i go to see how much datas are being downloaded and i find 200kb/s even if i don't use the internet, i closed all softwares like antivirus and everything and still the internet being consumed, thanks god because i only pay by month. So is there a tool for pc to monitor the softwares that are using my connexion? Thanks

    Hello everyone, I have no expertize in server hardware, however i have some IBM X3550 7978 and HP DL 160/G6 servers with 2 Lan ports, and a management port (that seem to be another Lan port). Have anyone tried to use the management to control remotely the low level functions of the servers (reboots for example) ?     Hello How can I convert a file with a lot hex numbers into the decimal? Example: file1 0x59999 0x5acdc 0xffeff I want to start $ cat file1 | util | cat file2 and get file2 with smth like 1021489 1249230 3458080 (numbers in example output are random, as I cant convert so long hex to dec) Upd: perl : perl -pe '$_=hex;$_.="\n"'. Can anybody do it better? The real task is a sorting of hex numbers.

    Hello,i want to install windows xp from my flash disk but upon running DISKPART and LIST PART my flash disk is not being listed.I soon find out its not supported on another forum.I tried unet bootin but i dont want to go that route.I have learn't that i can make my flash disk appear a hard drive but i am not sure since i have never done this before.   • Alternative to Outlook 2007 to sync with BlackBerry?

    Hello I installed Outlook (2007) since it's the most used PIM that can sync with a BlackBerry, but I find its UI ugly, and the different dialogs contain way too much items for my use. Does someone know of a good alternative? Ideally, it should be able to sync with BlackBerry directly, but I can live with one that goes through Outlook for synchronization. FWIW, I prefer desktop applications to eg. Google apps. Thank you.

    Hello all, I'm using Windows Vista, and I was wondering if I can put shortcuts for applications.Like for example, if I press a certain combination of keys I get notepad, or something like that. If those shortcuts were already there, how can I know them?   • Removing raid 1 (mirroring) and leaving data on both drives

    Hello, I have two drives in a raid 1 (mirroring) array. Hardware raid using whatever is built into an Intel motherboard. (asus P5BE) I'd like to remove one drive but keep the data in both (I want to put one of the drives into another machine). Can I go into the raid configuration and remove the array and have the data remain?
