  • What can be improved in this PHP code?

    - by Noctis Skytower
    This is a custom encryption library. I do not know much about PHP's standard library of functions and was wondering if the following code can be improved in any way. The implementation should yield the same results, the API should remain as it is, but ways to make is more PHP-ish would be greatly appreciated. Code <?php /*************************************** Create random major and minor SPICE key. ***************************************/ function crypt_major() { $all = range("\x00", "\xFF"); shuffle($all); $major_key = implode("", $all); return $major_key; } function crypt_minor() { $sample = array(); do { array_push($sample, 0, 1, 2, 3); } while (count($sample) != 256); shuffle($sample); $list = array(); for ($index = 0; $index < 64; $index++) { $b12 = $sample[$index * 4] << 6; $b34 = $sample[$index * 4 + 1] << 4; $b56 = $sample[$index * 4 + 2] << 2; $b78 = $sample[$index * 4 + 3]; array_push($list, $b12 + $b34 + $b56 + $b78); } $minor_key = implode("", array_map("chr", $list)); return $minor_key; } /*************************************** Create the SPICE key via the given name. ***************************************/ function named_major($name) { srand(crc32($name)); return crypt_major(); } function named_minor($name) { srand(crc32($name)); return crypt_minor(); } /*************************************** Check validity for major and minor keys. ***************************************/ function _check_major($key) { if (is_string($key) && strlen($key) == 256) { foreach (range("\x00", "\xFF") as $char) { if (substr_count($key, $char) == 0) { return FALSE; } } return TRUE; } return FALSE; } function _check_minor($key) { if (is_string($key) && strlen($key) == 64) { $indexs = array(); foreach (array_map("ord", str_split($key)) as $byte) { foreach (range(6, 0, 2) as $shift) { array_push($indexs, ($byte >> $shift) & 3); } } $dict = array_count_values($indexs); foreach (range(0, 3) as $index) { if ($dict[$index] != 64) { return FALSE; } } return TRUE; } return FALSE; } /*************************************** Create encode maps for encode functions. ***************************************/ function _encode_map_1($major) { return array_map("ord", str_split($major)); } function _encode_map_2($minor) { $map_2 = array(array(), array(), array(), array()); $list = array(); foreach (array_map("ord", str_split($minor)) as $byte) { foreach (range(6, 0, 2) as $shift) { array_push($list, ($byte >> $shift) & 3); } } for ($byte = 0; $byte < 256; $byte++) { array_push($map_2[$list[$byte]], chr($byte)); } return $map_2; } /*************************************** Create decode maps for decode functions. ***************************************/ function _decode_map_1($minor) { $map_1 = array(); foreach (array_map("ord", str_split($minor)) as $byte) { foreach (range(6, 0, 2) as $shift) { array_push($map_1, ($byte >> $shift) & 3); } } return $map_1; }function _decode_map_2($major) { $map_2 = array(); $temp = array_map("ord", str_split($major)); for ($byte = 0; $byte < 256; $byte++) { $map_2[$temp[$byte]] = chr($byte); } return $map_2; } /*************************************** Encrypt or decrypt the string with maps. ***************************************/ function _encode($string, $map_1, $map_2) { $cache = ""; foreach (str_split($string) as $char) { $byte = $map_1[ord($char)]; foreach (range(6, 0, 2) as $shift) { $cache .= $map_2[($byte >> $shift) & 3][mt_rand(0, 63)]; } } return $cache; } function _decode($string, $map_1, $map_2) { $cache = ""; $temp = str_split($string); for ($iter = 0; $iter < strlen($string) / 4; $iter++) { $b12 = $map_1[ord($temp[$iter * 4])] << 6; $b34 = $map_1[ord($temp[$iter * 4 + 1])] << 4; $b56 = $map_1[ord($temp[$iter * 4 + 2])] << 2; $b78 = $map_1[ord($temp[$iter * 4 + 3])]; $cache .= $map_2[$b12 + $b34 + $b56 + $b78]; } return $cache; } /*************************************** This is the public interface for coding. ***************************************/ function encode_string($string, $major, $minor) { if (is_string($string)) { if (_check_major($major) && _check_minor($minor)) { $map_1 = _encode_map_1($major); $map_2 = _encode_map_2($minor); return _encode($string, $map_1, $map_2); } } return FALSE; } function decode_string($string, $major, $minor) { if (is_string($string) && strlen($string) % 4 == 0) { if (_check_major($major) && _check_minor($minor)) { $map_1 = _decode_map_1($minor); $map_2 = _decode_map_2($major); return _decode($string, $map_1, $map_2); } } return FALSE; } ?> This is a sample showing how the code is being used.   • HTML5 Form: Page Is Reloading Instantly After Restyling (And It Shouldn't Be)

    - by user3689753
    I have a form. I have made it so that if your name is not put in, a red border is put on the name field. That works, BUT...it's for a split second, and then the page reloads. I want the red border to appear, and then stay there. For some reason it's for a split second. Can someone help me make it so the page doesn't reload after displaying the red border? Here's the script. window.onload = function() { document.getElementById("Hogwarts").onsubmit = function () { window.alert("Form submitted. Owl being sent..."); var fname = document.getElementById("fName"); if(!fName.value.match("^[A-Z][A-Za-z]+( [A-Z][A-Za-z]*)*$")) { window.alert("You must enter your name."); addClass(fName, "errorDisp"); document.getElementById("fName").focus(); } else return true; } } function addClass(element, classToAdd) { var currentClassValue = element.className; if (currentClassValue.indexOf(classToAdd) == -1) { if ((currentClassValue == null) || (currentClassValue === "")) { element.className = classToAdd; } else { element.className += " " + classToAdd; } } } function removeClass(element, classToRemove) { var currentClassValue = element.className; if (currentClassValue == classToRemove) { element.className = ""; return; } var classValues = currentClassValue.split(" "); var filteredList = []; for (var i = 0 ; i < classValues.length; i++) { if (classToRemove != classValues[i]) { filteredList.push(classValues[i]); } } element.className = filteredList.join(" "); } Here's the HTML. <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta charset="UTF-8" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1"> <title>Hogwarts School of Witchcraft And Wizardry Application Form</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="main.css" media="screen"/> <script src="script.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head> <body> <section> <header> <h1>Hogwarts School of Witchcraft And Wizardry</h1> <nav></nav> </header> <main> <form method="post" id="Hogwarts"> <!--<form action="showform.php" method="post" id="Hogwarts">--!> <fieldset id="aboutMe"> <legend id="aboutMeLeg">About Me</legend> <div class="fieldleading"> <label for="fName" class="labelstyle">First name:</label> <input type="text" id="fName" name="fName" autofocus maxlength="50" value="" placeholder="First Name" size="30"> <label for="lName" class="labelstyle">Last name:</label> <input type="text" id="lName" name="lName" required maxlength="50" value="" placeholder="Last Name" pattern="^[A-Za-z ]{3,}$" size="30"> <label for="age" class="labelstyle">Age:</label> <input type="number" id="age" name="age" required min="17" step="1" max="59" value="" placeholder="Age"> </div> <div class="fieldleading"> <label for="date" class="labelstyle">Date Of Birth:</label> <input type="date" name="date1" id="date" required autofocus value=""> </div> <div id="whitegender"> <div class="fieldleading"> <label class="labelstyle">Gender:</label> </div> <input type="radio" name="sex" value="male" class="gender" required="required">Male<br/> <input type="radio" name="sex" value="female" class="gender" required="required">Female<br/> <input type="radio" name="sex" value="other" class="gender" required="required">Other </div> </fieldset> <fieldset id="contactInfo"> <legend id="contactInfoLeg">Contact Information</legend> <div class="fieldleading"> <label for="street" class="labelstyle">Street Address:</label> <input type="text" id="street" name="street" required autofocus maxlength="50" value="" placeholder="Street Address" pattern="^[0-9A-Za-z\. ]+{5,}$" size="35"> <label for="city" class="labelstyle">City:</label> <input type="text" id="city" name="city" required autofocus maxlength="30" value="" placeholder="City" pattern="^[A-Za-z ]{3,}$" size="35"> <label for="State" class="labelstyle">State:</label> <select required id="State" name="State" > <option value="Select Your State">Select Your State</option> <option value="Delaware">Delaware</option> <option value="Pennsylvania">Pennsylvania</option> <option value="New Jersey">New Jersey</option> <option value="Georgia">Georgia</option> <option value="Connecticut">Connecticut</option> <option value="Massachusetts">Massachusetts</option> <option value="Maryland">Maryland</option> <option value="New Hampshire">New Hampshire</option> <option value="New York">New York</option> <option value="Virginia">Virginia</option> </select> </div> <div class="fieldleading"> <label for="zip" class="labelstyle">5-Digit Zip Code:</label> <input id="zip" name="zip" required autofocus maxlength="5" value="" placeholder="Your Zip Code" pattern="^\d{5}$"> <label for="usrtel" class="labelstyle">10-Digit Telephone Number:</label> <input type="tel" name="usrtel" id="usrtel" required autofocus value="" placeholder="123-456-7890" pattern="^\d{3}[\-]\d{3}[\-]\d{4}$"> </div> <div class="fieldleading"> <label for="email1" class="labelstyle">Email:</label> <input type="email" name="email1" id="email1" required autofocus value="" placeholder="[email protected]" pattern="^[a-z0-9._%+-]+@[a-z0-9.-]+\.[a-z]{2,4}$" size="35"> <label for="homepage1" class="labelstyle">Home Page:</label> <input type="url" name="homepage1" id="homepage1" required autofocus value="" placeholder="http://www.hp.com" pattern="https?://.+" size="35"> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset id="yourInterests"> <legend id="yourInterestsLeg">Your Interests</legend> <label for="Major" class="labelstyle">Major/Program Choice:</label> <select required id="Major" name="Major" > <option value="">Select Your Major</option> <option value="Magic1">Magic Horticulture</option> <option value="Magic2">Black Magic</option> <option value="White">White Magic</option> <option value="Blue">Blue Magic</option> <option value="Non">Non-Wizardry Studies</option> </select> </fieldset> <button type="submit" value="Submit" class="submitreset">Submit</button> <button type="reset" value="Reset" class="submitreset">Reset</button> </form> </main> <footer> &copy;   • Which code snipplets in PHP can create a input form, which creates a new set of data in my mysql dat

    - by smiyazaki
    I am using the Google Maps API with parts in javascript and others in PHP. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> Google Maps AJAX + mySQL/PHP Example // var iconBlue = new GIcon(); iconBlue.image = 'icon.png'; iconBlue.shadow = ''; iconBlue.iconSize = new GSize(19, 19); iconBlue.shadowSize = new GSize(22, 20); iconBlue.iconAnchor = new GPoint(6, 20); iconBlue.infoWindowAnchor = new GPoint(5, 1); var iconRed = new GIcon(); iconRed.image = 'icon.png'; iconRed.shadow = ''; iconRed.iconSize = new GSize(19, 19); iconRed.shadowSize = new GSize(22, 20); iconRed.iconAnchor = new GPoint(6, 20); iconRed.infoWindowAnchor = new GPoint(5, 1); var customIcons = []; customIcons["restaurant"] = iconBlue; customIcons["bar"] = iconRed; function load() { if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) { var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.setMapType(G_SATELLITE_MAP); map.addControl(new GSmallMapControl()); map.addControl(new GMapTypeControl()); map.setCenter(new GLatLng(47.614495, -122.341861), 13); // Change this depending on the name of your PHP file GDownloadUrl("phpsqlajax_genxml.php", function(data) { var xml = GXml.parse(data); var markers = xml.documentElement.getElementsByTagName("marker"); for (var i = 0; i < markers.length; i++) { var name = markers[i].getAttribute("name"); var address = markers[i].getAttribute("address"); var type = markers[i].getAttribute("type"); var point = new GLatLng(parseFloat(markers[i].getAttribute("lat")), parseFloat(markers[i].getAttribute("lng"))); var marker = createMarker(point, name, address, type); map.addOverlay(marker); } }); } } function createMarker(point, name, address, type) { var marker = new GMarker(point, customIcons[type]); var html = "<b>" + name + "</b> <br/>" + address; GEvent.addListener(marker, 'click', function() { marker.openInfoWindowHtml(html); }); return marker; } //]]> (I suppose the php will be called by "GDownloadUrl("phpsqlajax_genxml.php", function(data) { ..." in the javascript part of the sourcecode of phpsqlajax_map.htm) Now I need another php file and the code snipplets for it, which creates an input form where I can add some new locations to the google map. Following code is used to create the xml file here: http://detektors.de/maptest/phpsqlajax_genxml.php The next step would be, trying to make an plugin for wordpress that I could easily post a blog entry with a new location on the same map, which displays already some other locations stored in the mysql database. thanks! <?php require("phpsqlajax_dbinfo.php"); function parseToXML($htmlStr) { $xmlStr=str_replace('<','<',$htmlStr); $xmlStr=str_replace('','>',$xmlStr); $xmlStr=str_replace('"','"',$xmlStr); $xmlStr=str_replace("'",''',$xmlStr); $xmlStr=str_replace("&",'&',$xmlStr); return $xmlStr; } // Opens a connection to a MySQL server $connection=mysql_connect ($host, $username, $password); if (!$connection) { die('Not connected : ' . mysql_error()); } // Set the active MySQL database $db_selected = mysql_select_db($database, $connection); if (!$db_selected) { die ('Can\'t use db : ' . mysql_error()); } // Select all the rows in the markers table $query = "SELECT * FROM markers WHERE 1"; $result = mysql_query($query); if (!$result) { die('Invalid query: ' . mysql_error()); } header("Content-type: text/xml"); // Start XML file, echo parent node echo ''; // Iterate through the rows, printing XML nodes for each while ($row = @mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ // ADD TO XML DOCUMENT NODE echo ''; } // End XML file echo ''; ?

  • In HLSL pixel shader , why is SV_POSITION different to other semantics?

    - by tina nyaa
    In my HLSL pixel shader, SV_POSITION seems to have different values to any other semantic I use. I don't understand why this is. Can you please explain it? For example, I am using a triangle with the following coordinates: (0.0f, 0.5f) (0.5f, -0.5f) (-0.5f, -0.5f) The w and z values are 0 and 1, respectively. This is the pixel shader. struct VS_IN { float4 pos : POSITION; }; struct PS_IN { float4 pos : SV_POSITION; float4 k : LOLIMASEMANTIC; }; PS_IN VS( VS_IN input ) { PS_IN output = (PS_IN)0; output.pos = input.pos; output.k = input.pos; return output; } float4 PS( PS_IN input ) : SV_Target { // screenshot 1 return input.pos; // screenshot 2 return input.k; } technique10 Render { pass P0 { SetGeometryShader( 0 ); SetVertexShader( CompileShader( vs_4_0, VS() ) ); SetPixelShader( CompileShader( ps_4_0, PS() ) ); } } Screenshot 1: http://i.stack.imgur.com/rutGU.png Screenshot 2: http://i.stack.imgur.com/NStug.png (Sorry, I'm not allowed to post images until I have a lot of 'reputation') When I use the first statement (result is first screenshot), the one that uses the SV_POSITION semantic, the result is completely unexpected and is yellow, whereas using any other semantic will produce the expected result. Why is this?

  • Building Great-Looking, Usable Apps: A two-day workshop applying Oracle’s best UX practices in ADF

    - by mvaughan
    By Misha Vaughan, Oracle Applications User ExperienceI have been with Oracle for more than 12 years. It is a company that has granted me extraordinary creative freedom to help deliver compelling experiences for customers.I am beyond proud to talk about one of the experiences we just took for a test drive. Recently, we delivered a first-of-its-kind, three-team collaboration, train-the-trainer event in Reading, U.K., on building great-looking, usable apps based on Oracle Fusion Applications -- using the ADF tool kit. A new kind of workshopKevin Li, Platform Product Director, asked the Oracle Applications User Experience VP, Jeremy Ashley, if the team had anything to help partners and customers build applications that looked like Fusion. He was receiving this request from European partners and customers.Some quick conversations ensued, and the idea for the workshop was born: We would conduct an experiment.  We would work with feedback from the key Platform Technology Solutions (PTS) trainers under Andre Pavanello, Director, Platform Technology Solutions, in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. We would partner with the ADF team lead by Grant Ronald, Director of Product Management, title> and leverage the Applications UX expertise in Ashley’s team.The goal: Create a pilot workshop that in two days would explain to an ADF developer how to leverage the next-generation user experience best-practices developed for Fusion Apps. Why? Customers who need integrations with Oracle Fusion Applications, who are looking for custom applications that need to co-exist with Fusion, or who quite simply want a next-generation design for a custom app, need their solutions to reflect the next-generation research and design.Building an event for an ADF developerThe biggest hurdle was figuring out where to start.  How far into user experience country do you take an ADF developer? How far into ADF do you need to go if you are a UX professional?After some time in the UX kitchen, the workshop recipe looked like this: Mix equal parts: Fusion user experience design principles and functional design patterns The art and science behind UX How to wireframe designs that you can build in Fusion How to translate those designs into an ADF application Ultan O’Broin, Director of Global User Experience, explaining the trouble ticket wireframe design exerciseLynn Munsinger, Senior Group Product Manager, explaining the follow-on trouble ticket ADF coding exercise For spice, add:•    Debra Lilley, Fujitsu and ACE director, showcasing some of the latest ADF design work in the new face of Fusion Applications •    Partner show-and-tell of example apps they have built with FMW and ADF that are dynamic, beautiful, and interactive.Debra Lilley, Oracle ACE Director and Fujitsu Fusion Champion on the new face of Fusion built with ADF and Fusion extensibility with composers as a window into “the possible”?The taste testThis first go-round of the workshop was aimed squarely at ADF developers and partners.  We were privileged to have participation and feedback from:•    Sten Vesterli, Scott/Tiger S. A., Denmark•    John Sim, Fishbowl Solutions, UK•    Josef Huber, Primus Delphi Group, Munich•    Thaddaus Weindl, Primus Delphi, Group , Munich•    Praveen Pillalamarri, EiS Technologies, Bangalore•    Balaji Kamepalli, EiS Technologies, Bangalore•    Plinio Arbizu, Services & Processes Solutions S. A., Mexico•    Yannick Ongena, infoMENTUM, UK•    Jakub Ciszek, infoMENTUM, UK•    Mauro Flores, infoMENTUM, UK•    Matteo Formica, infoMENTUM, UKRichard Bingham, Oracle, Mauro Flores and Matteo Formica, infoMENTUMWhy is this so exciting?  Oracle has invested heavily in the research and development of the Oracle Fusion Applications user experience. This investment has been and continues to be applied across the product lines. Now, we finally get to teach customers and partners how to take advantage of this investment for custom solutions.This event was a pilot to test-drive the content, as well as a train-the-trainer event that our EMEA colleagues will be using with partners who want to build with Fusion Apps design patterns.What did attendees think?"I liked most the science stuff, like eye-tracking, design patterns and best-practice (color, contrast),” Josef Huber said. “It was a very good introduction to UI design, and most developers and project managers are very bad in that.  So this course would be good for all developers and even project managers." Team Anonymous: John Sim, Fishbowl Solutions, Flavius Sana, Oracle, Josef Huber, infoMENTUM, Mireille Duroussaud, Oracle. Winners of the wireframing design exercise.  Sten Vesterli, of Scott/Tiger, said he attended to learn techniques he could use in his own projects. He wants to ensure that his applications better meet the needs of his users, and he said sessions during the workshop on user interface design and wireframing were most useful to him.  “Go to this event to learn the art and science of good user interfaces from people who really know how to do it,” he said.Sten Vesterli, Scott/Tiger, Angelo Santagata, Oracle Plinio Arbizu said the workshop fulfilled his goals, thanks to the recommendations given in how to design user interfaces to facilitate the adoption of applications among the final users. “The workshop combined these recommendations with an exercise that improved the technical comprehension, permitting the usage of JDeveloper to set forth our solutions,” he said. He added: “The first session that I really enjoyed was the five Fusion design principles. It was incredible to discover how these simple principles were included in an inherit manner in Fusion Applications, and I had been using many of them applying only ADF components.  Another topic that I enjoyed a lot was the eight recommendations about the visual design of UIs. The issues that were raised in that lesson are unknown to the developers and of great value to achieve an attractive presentation layer to the end users.  Participate in this workshop, and include these usability features in your projects and in this manner not only to facilitate and improve the user productivity, but also to distinguish you as a professional who takes advantage fully of the functionalities offered by Oracle technology. Praveen Pillalamarri came to the workshop to learn about the difficulties faced in UI and UX development, and how this can be resolved with the help of ADF.  He also appreciated the opportunity to talk with other individuals who came to the workshop. Pillalmarri said, “The way we looked at things in terms of work and projects were sharpened.  UI and UX design knowledge shared by you was quite interesting, especially the minute things which we ignored in the UI or UX design.” Plinio Arbizu, Services & Processes Solutions S. A., Richard Bingham, Oracle, Balaji Kamepalli, & Praveen Pillalamarri, EiS TechnologiesReady to spread the wordIn EMEA, Oracle customers and partners have access to three world-class trainers via Platform Technology Solutions: Mireille Duroussaud, Flavius Sana, and Angelo Santagata. Contact Andre Pavanello if you like to experience this workshop firsthand, or you have customers or partners who would benefit from the training.We are looking to bring the event to the U.S. in spring 2013. • How add fog with pixel shader (HLSL) XNA?

    - by Mehdi Bugnard
    I started to make a small game in XNA . And recently i tried to add a "fog" on "pixel shader HLSL" with the class Effect from XNA . I search online about some tutorial and found many sample. But nothing want work on my game :-( . Before i already add a "fog" effect in my game and everything work, because i used the class "BasicEffect" but with the class "Effect" and HLSL, it's really more complicated. If somebody have an idea, it's will be wonderfull. Thanks again. Here is my code HLSL, i use. // Both techniques share this same pixel shader. float4 PixelShaderFunction(VertexShaderOutput input) : COLOR0 { //return tex2D(Sampler, input.TextureCoordinate) * input.Color; float d = length(input.TextureCoordinate - cameraPos); float l = saturate((d-fogNear)/(fogFar-fogNear)); float fogFactory = clamp((d - fogNear) / (fogFar - fogNear), 0, 1) * l; return tex2D(Sampler, input.TextureCoordinate) * lerp(input.Color, fogColor, fogFactory); } Here is the screenShot With effect Without effect

  • How to drop all subnets outside of the US using iptables

    - by Jim
    I want to block all subnets outside the US. I've made a script that has all of the US subnets in it. I want to disallow or DROP all but my list. Can someone give me an example of how I can start by denying everything? This is the output from -L Chain INPUT (policy DROP) target prot opt source destination ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere state RELATED,ESTABLISHED ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:ftp state NEW DROP icmp -- anywhere anywhere Chain FORWARD (policy DROP) target prot opt source destination Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination And these are the rules iptables --F iptables --policy INPUT DROP iptables --policy FORWARD DROP iptables --policy OUTPUT ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -i lo -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 -m state --state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -i eth0 --dport 21 -m state --state NEW -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -p icmp -j DROP Just for clarity, with these rules, I can still connect to port 21 without my subnet list. I want to block ALL subnets and just open those inside the US.

  • How to I get a rotated sprite to move left or right?

    - by rphello101
    Using Java/Slick 2D, I'm using the mouse to rotate a sprite on the screen and the directional keys (in this case, WASD) to move the spite. Forwards and backwards is easy, just position += cos(ang)*speed or position -= cos(ang)*speed. But how do I get the sprite to move left or right? I'm thinking it has something to do with adding 90 degrees to the angle or something. Any ideas? Rotation code: int mX = Mouse.getX(); int mY = HEIGHT - Mouse.getY(); int pX = sprite.x+sprite.image.getWidth()/2; int pY = sprite.y+sprite.image.getHeight()/2; double mAng; if(mX!=pX){ mAng = Math.toDegrees(Math.atan2(mY - pY, mX - pX)); if(mAng==0 && mX<=pX) mAng=180; } else{ if(mY>pY) mAng=90; else mAng=270; } sprite.angle = mAng; sprite.image.setRotation((float) mAng); And the movement code (delta is change in time): Input input = gc.getInput(); Vector2f direction = new Vector2f(); Vector2f velocity = new Vector2f(); direction.x = (float) Math.cos(Math.toRadians(sprite.angle)); direction.y = (float) Math.sin(Math.toRadians(sprite.angle)); if(direction.length()>0) direction = direction.normalise(); //On a separate note, what does this line of code do? velocity.x = (float) (direction.x * sprite.moveSpeed); velocity.y = (float) (direction.y * sprite.moveSpeed); if(input.isKeyDown(sprite.up)){ sprite.x += velocity.x*delta; sprite.y += velocity.y*delta; }if (input.isKeyDown(sprite.down)){ sprite.x -= velocity.x*delta; sprite.y -= velocity.y*delta; }if (input.isKeyDown(sprite.left)){ //??? }if (input.isKeyDown(sprite.right)){ //??? }

  • What could cause a pixel shader to paint outside the lines of the vertex shader output?

    - by Rei Miyasaka
    From what I understand, the pixels that a pixel shader operates on are specified implicitly by the SV_POSITION output (in DirectX) of the vertex shader. What then could cause a pixel shader to render in the middle of nowhere? I used the new Visual Studio 2012 graphics debugger to visualize my vertex and pixel shader output. This is the output from a DrawIndexed() call that draws a cube: The pink part is the rendered output of the pixel shader, which takes the cube on its left as its input. The vertex shader code: cbuffer Buf { float4x4 final; }; struct In { float4 pos:POSITION; float3 norm:NORMAL; float2 texuv:TEXCOORD; }; struct Out { float4 col:COLOR; float2 tex:TEXCOORD; float4 pos:SV_POSITION; }; Out main(In input) { Out output; output.pos = mul(input.pos, final); output.col = float4(1.0f, 0.5f, 0.5f, 1.0f); output.tex = input.texuv; return output; } And the pixel shader: struct In { float4 col:COLOR; float2 tex:TEXCOORD; float4 pos:SV_POSITION; }; float4 main(In input) : SV_TARGET { return input.col; } The raster stage is the only thing between the vertex shader and the pixel shader, so my suspicion is that it's some raster stage settings. But the raster stage shouldn't change the shape of the vertex shader output so drastically, should it?

  • How can I get multitouch enabled on my Sentelic touchpad (msi x350 notebook)?

    I understand my MSI x350 notebook comes with a Sentelic trackpad, which supports multi-touch (according to the MSI website). Is there a way to enable multitouch on Ubuntu? I've been having difficulty finding info about this on google, and since it's not a synaptics touchpad I haven't been able to find much info in ubuntu docs. • Writing custom Message Formatter for SOAP basicHttpBinding

    - by Lijo
    I have a WSDL published by our service development team. It is using SOAP and basicHttpBinding. I can add the service reference to the project using Add Service Reference option in Visual Studio. I need to develop the WCF client. I need to use custom Message Formatter (for mapping between Messages and CLR types). Can you please show how to write the custom Message Formatter (in C# )for the following wsdl? Note: I am planning to use custom Message Formatter due to an issue mentioned in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12316884/header-namespace-mismatch-issue WSDL <definitions xmlns:import0="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:data:v1" xmlns:import2="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:messages:v1" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:import1="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:headerdata:v1" xmlns:tns="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:wsdl:v1" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" xmlns:soap12="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap12/" name="RestauarntService" targetNamespace="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:wsdl:v1" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <types> <xsd:schema> <xsd:import schemaLocation="RestaurantData.xsd" namespace="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:data:v1" /> <xsd:import schemaLocation="RestaurantHeaderData.xsd" namespace="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:headerdata:v1" /> <xsd:import schemaLocation="RestaurantMessages.xsd" namespace="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:messages:v1" /> </xsd:schema> </types> <message name="getRestaurantsIn"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <part name="parameters" element="import2:getRestaurants" /> </message> <message name="getRestaurantsOut"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <part name="parameters" element="import2:getRestaurantsResponse" /> </message> <message name="lijosCustomFaultMessage"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <part name="fault" element="import2:customFault" /> </message> <message name="userCredentialsIn"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <part name="parameters" element="import1:userCredentials" /> </message> <message name="addRestaurantIn"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <part name="parameters" element="import2:addRestaurant" /> </message> <message name="addRestaurantInHeader1"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <part name="parameters" element="import1:userCredentials" /> </message> <message name="customFaultIn"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <part name="parameters" element="import2:customFault" /> </message> <portType name="RestauarntServiceInterface"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <operation name="getRestaurants"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <input message="tns:getRestaurantsIn" /> <output message="tns:getRestaurantsOut" /> <fault name="lijosCustomFaultMessage" message="tns:lijosCustomFaultMessage" /> </operation> <operation name="userCredentials"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <input message="tns:userCredentialsIn" /> </operation> <operation name="addRestaurant"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <input message="tns:addRestaurantIn" /> </operation> <operation name="customFault"> <wsdl:documentation xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" /> <input message="tns:customFaultIn" /> </operation> </portType> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_RestauarntServiceInterface" type="tns:RestauarntServiceInterface"> <soap:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http" /> <operation name="getRestaurants"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:wsdl:v1:getRestaurantsIn" style="document" /> <input> <soap:body use="literal" /> </input> <output> <soap:body use="literal" /> </output> <fault name="lijosCustomFaultMessage"> <soap:fault use="literal" name="lijosCustomFaultMessage" namespace="" /> </fault> </operation> <operation name="userCredentials"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:wsdl:v1:userCredentialsIn" style="document" /> <input> <soap:body use="literal" /> </input> </operation> <operation name="addRestaurant"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:wsdl:v1:addRestaurantIn" style="document" /> <input> <soap:body use="literal" /> <soap:header message="tns:addRestaurantInHeader1" part="parameters" use="literal" /> </input> </operation> <operation name="customFault"> <soap:operation soapAction="urn:thinktecture-com:demos:restaurantservice:wsdl:v1:customFaultIn" style="document" /> <input> <soap:body use="literal" /> </input> </operation> </binding> <service name="RestauarntServicePort"> <port name="RestauarntServicePort" binding="tns:BasicHttpBinding_RestauarntServiceInterface"> <soap:address location="http://localhost/RestauarntService" /> </port> </service> </definitions>??
