• Dotnet website - class in one file can't access class in a different file

  I've inherited a web site I'm editing in dotnet and it won't compile because the class in one file (say class1.vb) refers to a class in another file (say class2) (like Dim m_c As class2) , but the compiler says "Type Class2 is not defined". when I look in the object browswer the classes are listed separately (i.e. not all grouped under the same namespace) and appear as: Public Class Class1 Inherits System.Object Member of C:...\mywebsite\ Help!, thanks.

  We have installed PHPMyAdmin on a windows machine running IIS 7.0. We are able to connect to MySQL using command-line, But we are not able to connect using PHPMyAdmin.   I have two files a.txt and b.txt (henceforth a and b). My script iterates through a, does some operation, and potentially inserts a line to b. In the event the script stops, I need it to pick up where it left off. • Win 7 laptop taking a long time to log on when off the domain

  I've clicked through on a few forums but unable to find a suggestion for this issue. I have a user with a HP laptop which will boot perfectly fine whilst connected to the network but at home it will take 4 minutes to log on. Some suggestions I have had is that its looking for the DNS server of the domain. Another was that it was suggested it was a roaming profile (it isn't). So hoping someone has encountered Windows 7 acting like this and has some suggestions. The other users on this domain don't have the issue and its a mix of XP and Win 7 client PCs.

• syslog-ng fails to log on lxc host

  we are running CentOS 6 servers with multiple lxc-containers. For system logging we are using syslog-ng. After a while the syslog-ng daemon stops logging messages, but the daemon keeps running. This happens on the host and inside the containers (where another syslog-ng is running) as well. We could not find any patterns for the failure yet but we assume that it has something to do with lxc, because we don't have these problems on other hosts. We have the suspicion that these problems occur when more than on lxc-container is running and that only "new" processes can not log. We are running the following software versions: CentOS-Linux 6.4/6.5 lxc-0.7.5 syslog-ng-3.2.5 Do you have any ideas? Best regards trademesh

One of the feature I remember is that it could 'offset' the log message depending on the 'nestedness' of where the log statement was occuring. Yet I cannot find anymore what that library was. I'm pretty sure it was fully compatible with log4j or sl4j.

• Deleting... dialog box stays on screen for over a minute when deleting one small file

  Every now and again I log into a Windows Server 2003 box with a remote desktop connection and delete one small file. When I do this, the Deleting... dialog box appears and remains on the screen for well over a minute. After the dialog box disappears, if I delete another small file, the Deleting... dialog box appears then disappears quickly. Why does it take so long to delete the first file after logging into a Windows Server 2003 box with a remote desktop connection? Is there a trick to speeding it up?

  I have a batch file that copies files to a network location on WebDAV. The address looks something like this: \\xxxxxxxxx.net@SSL@2078\DavWWWRoot When I restart my computer, the batch file doesn't work and says "Access denied". Before a restart, it works, but it doesn't after the computer restarts. The problem is that it requires me to put in the username and password used to access the server. I have to browse to the server in File Explorer and sign in first. Even if I select the "Remember password" check box, it doesn't work. How can I get it to automatically sign in? I don't want to have to do this every time.

What I would like to do is set a time limit on the batch file / CMD prompt such that it automatically closes after a certain period of time. One catch is that the external program that hangs may have one or more instances running at a given time, and I only want the batch file hitting its time limit to close the instance of the program triggered by the batch. • Windows batch file to delete folders/subfolders using wildcards

  I need to delete all folders in "tomin" folder, which name contains terminates with the ".delme" string. The deletion need to be done recurively: I mean on all directory and SUB directories. I though to do this: FOR /R tomin %%X IN (*.delme) DO (RD /S /Q "%%X") but it does not work, I think /R ignores wildcards. Before asking this quation I searched also in SO and found this: but the answers did not help me in solving my issue, following the suggestion given there I tried: FOR /F tomin "delims=" %%X IN ('dir /b /ad *.delme') DO RD /S /Q "%%X" But it did not work either. • Mac ASL: Unable to see my application's log messages

  I have just added ASL logging support to my application but I cannot see any log entries using Console.app. I am logging with facility 'com.mydomain.myapp' (that's not the actual value) and have even added an entry to /private/etc/asl.conf to tell syslogd to 'store' entries at this Facility (with any Level): ? [= Facility com.mydomain.myapp] store I HUP'd syslogd with no success so I restarted my MacBook Pro, which also made no difference. I know my application is logging OK as I have added the option ASL_OPT_STDERR when calling asl_open() and can see the entries on stderr. Any help would be must appreciated!

• Conditional action based on whether any file in a directory has a ctime newer than X

  I would like to run a backup job on a directory tree from a bash script if any of the files have been modified in the last 30 minutes. I think I can hack together something using find with the -ctime flag, but I'm sure there is a standard way to examine a directory for changes. I know that I can inspect the ctime of the top level directory to see if files were added, but I need to be able to see changes also. FWIW, I am using duplicity to backup directories to S3.

• SQL 2008 R2: Data\Log partions

  I have a SQL Server setup that a previous IT person set up with a 2TB data partition and a 1TB log partition. The OS partition is 244GB and SQL is installed on a separate 1TB partition. We have an additional 8TB of storage that I would like the new IT staff to bring on line. He wants to create 4 new 2TB data partition. I see this as confusing. Can't we just backup the current data partition, blow it away, and create a new 10TB data partition I'm responsible for administering the data on the server but am not allowed to do the setup myself. This is a GIS server running ArcGIS Server with around 60 geodatabases ranging from 20BG to a couple that may grow to over a TB. So, 5-2TB data partitions or 1-10TB partition. Thanks for the advice.
