ClickOnce Deployment Error - Access to the Path is Denied

I have a WPF app that I'm deploying to a network path using ClickOnce deployment. After the app is deployed to a network location, I use the ClickOnce html page to launch the installation process. I am successfully able to download and install the app. However, my users are not able to download and install the app. When a user navigates to the ClickOnce html page and clicks to begin the installation process, the following error message is received: ERROR SUMMARY Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log. * Activation of http://software.mycompany.com/myapp/myapp.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected: + Downloading file://dev/webs/software/myapp/myapp.application did not succeed. * [4/5/2010 1:56:59 PM] System.Deployment.Application.DeploymentDownloadException (Unknown subtype) - Downloading file://dev/Webs/software/myapp/myapp.application did not succeed. All signs point to this being a security issue. So, I've done the following: Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the files that were being deployed as part of my project Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the network location where the app was deployed (//dev/webs/software/myapp) Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the IIS path where the ClickOnce html page is located In each of these cases, I've made no progress in getting the app to successfully deploy via ClickOnce. Again, the odd thing is that I am able to successfully walk through the process of downloading and installing the app. It's my users, though, that need the ability to download and install the app. I've looked extensively on the web for answers, but there hasn't been much. How to get --detect-branches to work with git-p4?

My p4 repository has a structure similar to: //depot/project/branch1 //depot/project/branch2 //depot/project/branch3 ... etc However, when I use git-p4 to clone "project", all 3 branches are not considered as branches and all get cloned into the single master branch. This is how I'm invoking git-p4: git-p4 clone --detect-branches //depot/project I was expecting git-p4 to create a git database for "project" with three branches, and the root of the project would be mapped to the portion of the path after the branch name (for example: if //depot/project/branch1 has a subdirectory called "lib" (//depot/project/branch1/lib) then my local file system should be something like /git_project/lib with 3 git branches). Sporadic EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) when in 64 bit mode

For some reason for a low-number of users (say 1 in a few hundred) the application seem to crash when run in 64bit mode on a Snow Leopard 10.6.3 I've attached the code, but please remind IT IS NOT A CODE issue. The crashed seem to be random in com.apple.AppKit at random locations and random moments. Anyone else had any experiences? Any suggestions other then running the application in 32 bit only? Please do not dilute the feedback by asking for or blaming the code, the code is 100% solid, guaranteed! No memory leaks, the crashes clearly are triggered in 32 bit mode only just after start inside the AppKit itself like deep inside NSThread sleep's callstack.Read the article

Chef-solo cannot locate an nginx recipe template

I have been recently experimenting with Chef. I thought I would attempt to rebuild my personal web server using chef-solo. It's an AWS instance running the Amazon 64bit Linux AMI. My first objective is to install nginx. I have cloned the Opscode cookbook repository, and am using their nginx cookbook. My problem appears to be that chef-solo cannot find a template after it has started the process. What’s the strategy to recover data during DAO unit test?

When I test DAO module in JUnit, an obvious problem is: how to recover testing data in database? For instance, a record should be deleted in both test methods testA() and testB(), that means precondition of both test methods need an existing record to be deleted. Can't get heroku work with rails 3.x postgresql

I followed Heroku official guides to push rails project to heroku. The application.rb file is ok, I added pg gem and database.yml in the right way. linux ssh -X graphical applications will not start when system load is high

So I am using ssh -X to access a server. I am at a Xubuntu desktop accessing a Ubuntu server that is in the next room. Usually everything works fine, but when the system load gets high, any graphical applications I have freeze and fail to be restarted. This happens even if the process that is causing the high load has been niced to a low priority with "nice -n 19". And even though the system load is high, the command line works fine with no delay, and other applications I have running on the server (e.g. virtual machines) run fine. But any graphical application running through X dies. When the graphical applications fail they usually give out an error message that suggests a time-out. It seems that something connected to X has a low priority and times out. But what is it, and how does one fix it?Read the article

How to connect 3 monitors into an Asus 9800GT

I don't know if this is possible but, I've heard that there exist some DVI connections that allow and recognize the connection os 2 Monitores in the same port (I can be wrong tho). I have an Asus 9800GT 512MB on my computer that runs Ubuntu 12.04 and Arch Linux, and I am trying to connect 3 monitors. I already have 2 (17" each), and want to connect a new one with 19", but on my 9800GT I only have 2 DVI connections. Is there anyway to have 3 monitores extended without having to buy a new GPU ? Hi everyone, In Linux. There is an srand() function, where you supply a seed and it will guarantee the same sequence of pseudorandom numbers in subsequent calls to the random() function afterwards. Lets say, I want to store this pseudo random sequence by remembering this seed value. Furthermore, let's say I want the 100 thousandth number in this pseudo random sequence later. One way, would be to supply the seed number using srand(), and then calling random() 100 thousand times, and remembering this number. Is there a better way of skipping all 99,999 other numbers in the pseudo random list and directly getting the 100 thousandth number in the list. thanks, mRead the article

How do I change the URL handler for Apple Mail?

When I highlight and right-click on text in an email message in Apple Mail 4.4 (1082), I can select "Search in Google". Despite having either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox set as my default web browser within Apple Safari 5.0.3 (6533.19.4) preferences, Apple Mail will open Safari, then open a new window in Safari with the search results. How do I change the default URL handler in Apple Mail, so that searches are opened in my default browser? Or is this a known bug? Thanks for your advice!Read the article

Django - testing using large tables of static data

I am using "manage.py test" along with a JSON fixture I created using using 'dumpdata' My problem is that several of the tables in the fixture are very large (for example one containing the names of all cities in the US) which makes running a test incredibly slow. Seeing as several of these tables are never modified by the program (eg - the city names will never need to be modified), it doesn't make much sense to create and tear down these tables for every test run. Is there a better way to be testing this code using this kind of data?Read the article

MongoMapper, Rails, Increment Works in Console but not Controller

I'm using mongo_mapper 0.7.5 and rails 2.3.8, and I have an instance method that works in my console, but not in the controller of my actual app. I have no idea why this is. #controller if @friendship.save user1.add_friend(user2) ... #model ... key :friends_count, Integer, :default => 0 key :followers_count, Integer, :default => 0 def add_friend(user) ... self.increment(:friends_count => 1) user.increment(:followers_count => 1) true end And this works in the console, but in the controller it does not change the follower count, only the friends count. What gives? The only thing I can even think of is that the way that I'm passing the user in is the problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it.Read the article

Spatial index for geo coordinates?

What kind of data structure could be used for an efficient nearest neighbor search in a large set of geo coordinates? With "regular" spatial index structures like R-Trees that assume planar coordinates, I see two problems (Are there others I have overlooked?): Wraparound at the poles and the International Date Line Distortion of distances near the poles How can these factors be allowed for? I guess the second one could compensated by transforming the coordinates. Can an R-Tree be modified to take wraparound into account? Or are there specialized geo-spatial index structures?Read the article

Using GoDaddy to host my site (I know that's my first problem)! :-) Trying to setup customer error messages for my site. GoDaddy allows you to setup a 404 in their control panel, but I can't override this, or setup any additional error redirects, specifically a 500-server error. Twitter Oauth Strategy with Warden + Devise Authentication Gems for Ruby

Devise, the authentication gem for Ruby based on Warden (another auth gem) does not support Twitter Oauth as an authentication strategy, BUT Warden does. There is a way to use the Warden Twitter Oauth strategy within Devise, but I cannot figure it out. I'm using the following block in the devise config file: config.warden do |manager| manager.oauth(:twitter) do |twitter| twitter.consumer_secret = <SECRET> twitter.consumer_key = <KEY> twitter.options :site => 'http://twitter.com' end manager.default_strategies.unshift :twitter_oauth end But I keep on getting all sorts of error messages. How to dynamic adjust the number of columns in Table layout

Hi, I create a TableLayout which has 3 equally-wide columns (I put 'stretchColumns="*" in my TableLayout which has 3 TextViews). See below: But my questions is why I set one of the TextView to 'visibility' to Gone in my java code, the TableLayout does not re-size to 2 qually-wide columns which fit the whole screen. I have even call 'tableLayout.requestLayout()' after i set the visibility to Gone.' How can I achieve what I want? It seems that the NSBrowser is the best cocoa object to do this but I cannot figure out how to populate the NSBrowser with any sort of data. Slapd service won't start, unable to open pid file

I'm trying to set up a test LDAP-server for some developers but I'm running into some trouble. service slapd start errors so I run /usr/sbin/slapd -d 1 and this gives me the following error at the end: unable to open pid file "/var/run/ldap/slapd.pid": 13 (Permission denied) slapd destroy: freeing system resources. slapd stopped. The rights for /var/run/ldap are as follows: root@pec:/var/run/ldap# ls -ld drwxr-xr-x 2 openldap openldap 60 2012-07-04 20:45 So I don't get why there is still a permission denied. Blank Pages with Zen Cart v1.3.8 and PHP 5.3

I am trying to run a live Zen Cart store (version 1.3.8) on a my local machine which is PHP 5.3. I am aware of the incompatibilities between both versions and have dealt with it by applying the patch found here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140960 I am able to login the admin side no problem, but when i navigate to the store - all i see are blank pages. How can I fix this issue? I'm hoping there is a fix elsewhere. Trying not to revert to an older PHP installation.Read the article

PHP crashing on occasion - APC error?

Any thoughts on this? We've had this happen twice recently. Basically, every page throws a fatal error, fixed by an apache restart. Here's what's in the log, repeated over and over.
