  • Opera's problem with magnet-links

    I've encountered following problem while using Opera web browser: When I click on a magnet link on some web page like magnet:?xt=urn:tree:tiger:CXW6MJFRNOEFU2STCBWWOIYZLVCR2FTR37SQCXY&xl=352342016&dn=ER%20-%207x16%20-%20Witch%20Hunt.avi Opera is asking me if I want to open that link with my DC++ client. If I click 'Yes' button then my DC++ client is correctly "opening" the clicked magnet link and performing some action on it. There is also an option "Do not show this dialog again" in Opera's dialog, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. If I check that option before answering 'Yes' and then click on other magnet link of the same kind the Opera will again ask me about how to open new link. I haven't found protocol association in 'Control Panel Default Programs Set Associations' part of my Windows Vista settings, but if I paste magnet link in "Run" dialog then Vista will handle that link perfectly. I've tried to find out how to manually set protocol association in Opera and found 'Programs' page of browser's advanced settings. There I discovered that instead of storing protocol to application associations Opera tries to store per-link associations (There are several entries with exact links as they was on web page as value of protocol field). If I click on the links which are already stored in Opera's protocols associations browser will ask me about them again. I haven't found any information on how to resolve this problem on the internet, maybe someone on this site will be able to help me.

    I'm attempting to use a Model but I get a fatal error so I assume it doesn't autoload properly. ErrorException [ Fatal Error ]: Class 'Properties_Model' not found The offending controller line: $properties = new Properties_Model; The model: class Properties_Model extends Model { public function _construct() { parent::_construct(); } } I also put the class in three different locations hoping one would work, all there failed. They are: application/classes/model application/model application/models What am I missing?

  • How would you structure your entity model for storing arbitrary key/value data with different data t

    I keep coming across scenarios where it will be useful to store a set of arbitrary data in a table using a per-row key/value model, rather than a rigid column/field model. The problem is, I want to store the values with their correct data type rather than converting everything to a string. This means I have to choose either a single table with multiple nullable columns, one for each data type, or a set of value tables, one for each data type. I'm also unsure as to whether I should use full third normal form and separate the keys into a separate table, referencing them via a foreign key from the value table(s), or if it would be better to keep things simple and store the string keys in the value table(s) and accept the duplication of strings. Old/bad: This solution makes adding additional values a pain in a fluid environment because the table needs to be modified regularly. The querying code still needs to check for nulls to determine which data type the field is storing.     I have a model with several attributes, among them title and artist. The case of title and artist should be ignored in all the Active Record finders. Basically, if title or artist are present in the :conditions (or dynamically i.e. find_all_by_artist), then the WHERE artist = :artist should become WHERE UPPER(artist) = UPPER(:artist) or something along these lines. Is there a way of doing it with Rails?

    I have a custom model class with an NSMutableData ivar that will be accessed by custom NSOperation subclasses (using an NSOperationQueue). I think I can guarantee thread-safe access to the ivar from multiple NSOperations by using dependencies, and I can guarantee that I don't access the ivar from other code (say my main app thread) by waiting until the Q has finished all operations. Should I use a nonatomic property specification, or leave it atomic? Is there a significant impact on performance?

    Hi, I've seen plenty of classes in .NET which have private constructor (Stream is one of them I think). When would I want to model a class like this? I keep thinking that if my class has no internal state/fields, then I can make it have a private constructor. Am I on the right track with this idea? I can understand the use of a factory (I've run into the tipping point a few times), but not with a private constructor class. Thanks
