  I was wondering if someone has observations (or specifications) of different mobile processors power consumption levels when idle? Let's define 'idle' with 'browsing web sites trough wifi, no flash, no multitasking'. There are different series processors, recognizable by their first letter. The letter tells about the maximum TDP. For example: T - 30-39W P - max 25W L - 12-19W U - <12W However this is about maximum consumptions during load. Is there any difference in power levels when the CPU is idling?

• Ruby, Rails & MySQL parity between Mac Client (10.6) & XServe (10.5)

  We're setting up a RoR setup with Development on Mac OS X Client (10.6.3) and then using a Mac OS X Server (10.5.8) for testing and eventually deployment. I'd like to get as many systems in sync on these machines as possible. Wondering if there are any pitfalls. I seem to understand what's necessary under Client but Server has some hardwired stuff that I want to make sure doesn't break...or is updated correctly. Currently installed on both machines we have: OS X Client (10.6.3): Ruby 1.8.7 Rails 2.3.5 MySQL (not installed yet) OS X Server (10.5.8): Ruby 1.8.6 Rails 2.3.5 MySQL Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.82 Any suggestions...Ideally from someone who's done this on Leopard Server as well but I'll listen to general tips & proceedures

• Route all traffic via OpenVPN client

  I've got OpenVPN client running on 192.168.0.3. What I'd like to do is route all the traffic from the second computer with 192.168.0.100 via OpenVPN client that's running on the first computer. My router ip is 192.168.0.1 Network topology: Computer with OpenVPN client: 192.168.0.3 Computer that has to be rerouted: 192.168.0.100 Router: 192.168.0.1 I want it to work in the following way: 192.168.0.100 computer => 192.168.0.3 computer => OpenVPN => 192.168.0.1 How can I achieve that by only modifying windows' routing table?   I've started getting an error on my windows machine when sending an email through Windows Mail, using Mobile Me: An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Test' Server Error: 503 Server Response: 503 5.7.0 TLS already in use. Server: 'smtp.me.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC65 Protocol: SMTP Port: 587 Secure(SSL): Yes I've checked and double-checked my credentials, and outbound mail settings, and they're correct. I've deleted and re-added the account, and I get the same issue. I'm able to receive email fine. Note - this issue only affects one PC - my laptop has no issues. Any suggestions on what Error 503 means, or how I would fix this?

• Shrew VPN Client gives default route- changing the policy stops me from accessing VPN network

  I am using the shrew client to connect to what I believe is a Netscreen VPN. Now, when connected, the client adds the VPN as the default route. I do not want this- there is only 1 network behind the VPN that I need to access. I found that with the shrew client, you can change the "Policy" settings on the connection, and can add your own networks in that should tunnel over the VPN. I do this, and add my network in, but when I connect the VPN, I get nothing. Can't access the network. Any idea why this would be? I can see my network in the routing table, and its correctly pointing to the correct gateway. A traceroute shows all time-outs, so I can't be 100% sure that it is trying to tunnel over the VPN. Any idea how I can troubleshoot this?

  I have a VMWare (currently using Workstation on Vista, but thinking about switching to ESX) client with Windows XP. I've installed OpenVPN in the client and it connects to the corporate VPN server. I want to make sure that all traffic from the Windows XP machine goes trough this VPN tunnel, but I can't change any settings on the corporate VPN server. Is it possible to restrict the internet connectivity of the Windows XP client in such a way that it can only send packets to the IP of the corporate VPN server? In that way it'd be impossible for packets to bypass the tunnel. I've looked at NAT configurations but couldn't see how I could make this setup.

  I want to route normal phone calls (i.e. calls made from landline or mobile) to VoIP and vice versa. Fr example, if I dial a number from a PC I will be able to call the other person, and the other person is able to see my number on their screen. Similarly, if a person calls me, I can pick up a call on my PC and can see their number on my screen. I don't have any idea how to implement this – how would I go about doing that?

• Facebook doesn't work on computer, but work on mobile device, both use the same router

  I have a very strange problem and I'm thinking that can be problem with dns or something similar, but not sure and don't know how to solve. My computer is connected to router and every site works fine except facebook (Chrome and Firefox). Chrome shows "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset." But, on mobile device witch is connected to the same router facebook works fine (Fb application and Delphin browser). Pinging facebook works fine. Clearing cookies and cache didn't help. Also, I performed antivirus and antimalware scan and there is nothing. What can be a problem? • Port forwarding through a client bridge

  I am having a problem with port forwarding with a client bridge. My main router is a 2wire router from AT&T using their firmware. It is a Router/Modem. In my room, there is a Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT on it. I have set up the DD-WRT one as a Client bridge for my PC. I can access the internet on my computer using it but when I try and port forward, the ports stay closed. I am port forwarding on my main router (2wire) and it doesn't work. I have checked online and all I see is that I should only need to forward on the main router since the client bridge has NAT disabled, but it seems to not work that way. Any ideas?

• IIS web service responds on server, not from remote client

  I have installed a web service on a server running IIS (v6, as far as I can tell). There is another service installed, which responds as expected. My service responds correctly when a browser is pointed to localhost, but there is no response when a remote client tries to query the service. Fiddler on the remote client simply reports a timeout. Wireshark on the remote client shows no response at all from the server, no NACK, nothing. Wireshark on the server detects no query at the relevant port (the service is installed on port 8080). There are no relevant entries in the event viewer. Obviously there is some issue of permissions or authentication. I have tried to compare my service to the service that works, but I have not been able to locate relevant parameters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Google Drive desktop client not updating existing files from other users

  I've looked around and there doesn't really seem to be any troubleshooting information for the Google Drive desktop client. It all assumes you are using Google Docs on the web. Anyway, my team is trying to use Google Drive like Dropbox, where multiple people are editing files shared amongst them through the desktop, such as images. Dropbox is really good at noticing when a checksum for a file is changed, and syncing it. Google Drive's desktop client seems not to do this at all. Google Drive desktop client seems to only sync newly created files and not giving any notification at all that there is a modified version, it will never sync it, even though going online and opening that file will show the modified version. Is there any way to fix this? and the answer has nothing to do with proxy or firewall configurations. Team is using computers running OSX and Windows.

• Apache: Assign SSL server / client certs to directories

  I have multiple directories on my system, e.g., /var/www/dir1 /var/www/dir2 /var/www/dir3 And what I'd like to do is to generate a server/client SSL certificate for each directory, and then set up each directory such that the client cert must match the server cert in order to access said directory. Now, if someone has the client cert for /var/www/dir2 and they try to access /var/www/dir1, they will be unable to do so since those directories use different certs. Each of these directories is hosted on the same domain (i.e., domain.com/dir1, domain.com/dir2). Now, the problem I am having is that I am not exactly sure how to accomplish this in Apache. (Also, I don't really care for domain.com to require SSL, but I do want the directories to require it.)

• Windows 2003 - RAS service - VPN client can only connect to server, not internal network

RAS service is configured with static IP pool on the same subnet of internal network (10.10.0.x). The problem is when a client connect to server, client can connect to server(10.10.0.10), but cannot connect to another host locate in internal network (10.10.0.11) even cannot ping to 10.10.0.50. RAS configured with IP routing enabled, client connect with options: Use default gateway on remote network. I'm messed up and can not figure out what wrong. Please help me T_T. TIA, giobuon

They give you javascript code that you embed in your pages (whichever event you wish to track) and voila..you're done. I have written a native application for Android phones, which is actually an adaptation of the actual web site. Now, I am required to setup Analytics and tracking for this native application. Question: How to do this on Mobile phones from within a native application? We have Java Script code that works for the original web site. Is there a way to incorporate that in the native application? I know Android supports Java Script via WebViews(Webkit);my application does not have webviews and it is native. Also, I have not worked on JavaScript since school so excuse me if I sound naive. Thanks.

For either options, I can give the role of QA_DEP the ability to log to vCenter and go back/power-off the client - so they can return to their clean machine. My question: is it possible to have that ability without using vCenter? What If I want that on a Client reboot - it will return to it's initial/clean state?   I am building a LTSP server with LDAP authentication for LTSP Clients. I have configured LDAP server also. When I try to login from LTSP client in GUI, I am getting No response from server, restarting. Then, It's restarting the GUI and comes to the login screen again. I thought that there could be a problem with LDAP authentication. But, When I try to login from Alt+Ctrl+F1 terminal in LTSP client, it is logged in successfully with LDAP user. LDAP Server and authentication is working fine. Even, after executing the below commands, still I am getting the same error. ltsp-update-sshkeys ltsp-update-kernels ltsp-update-image --arch i386 Whether I need to configure anything for GUI login from LTSP Client? How to fix this issue?

• Simple way to get keys/mouse buttons working in Synergy (mac client, pc server)

  I'm trying to get Synergy working running as client on my Mac with SynergyKM Preferences panel. It's performing generally fine (just some real slow downs when my network is under heavy use, usually from youtube videos). The main thing I want to get working is none of the special buttons on my mouse are working on the client.. just the scroll and middle click.. but I have back/forward buttons I'd like to have working. Also my Windows Comfort Curve Keyboard has some extra keys and I'd like to know how to set those up to perform operations on my Mac client. I could have sworn that home/end weren't working but they seem to be now.. perhaps it's application specific..

Basically I have managed to cluster 2 nodes with: Node 1: run.bat -c all -g DefaultPartition –u 230.0.0.4 -b 10.67.51.28 -Djboss.messaging.ServerPeerID=1 Node 2: run.bat -c all -g DefaultPartition –u 230.0.0.4 -b 10.67.50.21 -Djboss.messaging.ServerPeerID=2 I know that if i cofigure a Apache load balancing(Mod_JK) to sit infront of the cluster, the client simply just punch in the IP of the Apache, and Apache will redirect the traffic to the nodes. But I do not want to have a Apache infront of the cluster. So how do my client access the cluster?? Do i need to configure something in JBoss, or isit a MUST to have a load balancer for the client to access the cluster?? MANY thanks in advance....

• How to set up server to be accessed from mobile devices [closed]

  I need to set up a server that will eventually be accessed from an Android application. I don't have experience with how to go about this, but I've seen MySQL servers (Amazon EC2). I would need to store data on the server remotely (again, from a mobile device) and fetch it to display. What would be the best kind of server to use? I'm guessing I would only need around 50 GB of space. Is it possible to use a network drive and set that up as a remote server with an IP address? I would need to upload and extract data through java on Android. This is my first question on ServerFault, and I'm not sure if it's the appropriate forum. If not, please redirect me.
