  This is my first time posting - I greatly appreciate any and all guidance on this subject. Background: I am building a Real Estate web site. I would like to use the free IDX data provided by my local MLS board. The MLS board does not allow me the option of displaying a predefined search and only provides me with a link to the search field. after filling out the search field, I am able to view the results. Goal: I would like to bypass this step and frame the results page into a GoDaddy website I am building, which supports HTML.   I recorded a series of http packets that I cant programmatically recreate. I though the two gets were going out at the same time but there is no corresponding number of responses. Also when trying to reproduce this pattern as the server if I abort the first GET request the client waits until it times out and starts the request over with out sending any other requests. What is happening here? How can I reproduce it?

• $.ajax not loading data data everytime from server

  I have written a simple jQuery.ajax function which loads a user control from the server on click of a button. The first time I click the button, it goes to the server and gets me the user control. But each subsequent click of the same button does not goes to the server to fetch me the user control. Since my user control fetches data from db, I need to reload the user control everytime i hit the button. But if anyhow I get my user control to unload from the page, and re-click the button, it goes to the server and fetches me the user control. • Why does Module::Build's testcover gives me "use of uninitialized value" warnings?

  I'm kinda new to Module::Build, so maybe I did something wrong. Am I the only one who gets warnings when I change my dispatch from "test" to "testcover"? Is there a bug in Devel::Cover? Is there a bug in Module::Build? I probably just did something wrong. I'm using ActiveState Perl v5.10.0 with Module::Build version 0.31012 and Devel::Cover 0.64 and Eclipse 3.4.1 with EPIC 0.6.34 for my IDE. UPDATE: I upgraded to Module::Build 0.34 and the warnings are still output. *UPDATE: Looks like a bug in B::Deparse. • slow DNS resolution

  I have a DNS server that resolves all queries for an internal group of servers. It is a bind on CentOS 5.5 (same as RHEL5) and I have set it up to allow recursion and resolve direction without any forwarders. The problem I am facing is that it takes a freakishly long amount of time to resolve a name for the first time. (in the magnitudes of 20 sec) This causes clients to give timeout. When I set it to forward all to Google's public DNS, i.e. 8.8.8.8+8.8.4.4, it works very nicely (within a second). Do you think I have setup something wrong here? Interestingly, when I dig directly from the root servers that did not respond, the always respond very fast (showing the firewall/nat is not the issue here). E.g. dig www.paypal.com @192.35.51.30 works perfectly, consistently, and very fast. What do you think about this mystery?

• Is there a non-blocking version of MessageBox.Show (or something like it)?

  Often you just want to notify the user that something has occurred, but there's really no need for any input from them. In this common scenario, I sometimes see code like this: MessageBox.Show("Something has occurred", "Something", MessageBoxButtons.OK); This code, as we all know, causes a little pop-up window to appear with only an OK button. Now here's the thing: this code blocks (the UI thread). But in the vast majority of cases, it seems to me, if you only have an OK button, there's very little need to block. (Isn't the purpose of blocking typically to receive some input from the user? And if the user's only choice is "OK," in this typical case, isn't blocking pretty pointless?) Obviously I could just write my own little form that does basically exactly what MessageBox.Show does, except that it returns nothing (no DialogResult) and doesn't block. But I was just wondering if something like this exists already that I didn't know about.

  One of my high school students and I are going to try to do a port of Haskell's Parsec parser combinator library into Scala. (It has the advantage over Scala's built-in parsing library that you can pass state around fairly easily because all the parsers are monads.) The first hitch I've come across is trying to figure out how Functor works in scalaz. Can someone explain how to convert this Haskell code: data Reply s u a = Ok a !(State s u) ParseError | Error ParseError instance Functor (Reply s u) where fmap f (Ok x s e) = Ok (f x) s e fmap _ (Error e) = Error e -- XXX into Scala (using Scalaz, I assume). I got as far as sealed abstract class Reply[S, U, A] case class Ok[S, U, A](a: A, state: State[S, U], error: ParseError) extends Reply[S, U, A] case class Error[S, U, A](error: ParseError) extends Reply[S, U, A] and know that I should make Reply extend the scalaz.Functor trait, but I can't figure out how to do that. • Advice on a simple Windows Form

  I have a VERY simple windows form that the user uses to manage "Stores". Each store has a name and number, and is kept in a corresponding DB table. The form has a listbox of stores, an add button that creates a new store, a delete button, and an edit button. Beside those I have text boxes for the name and number, and save/cancel buttons. When the user chooses a store from the list box, and clicks 'edit', the textboxes become populated and save/cancel become active. When the user clicks 'add', I create a new Store, add it to the listbox, activate the textboxes and save/cancel buttons, then commit it to the database when the user clicks 'save', or discards it when the user clicks 'cancel'. Right now, my event system looks like this (in psuedo-code. It's just shorter that way.) add->click: store = new Store() listbox.add(store) populateAndEdit(store) delete->click: store = listbox.selectedItem db.deleteOnSubmit(store) listbox.remove(store) db.submit() edit->click: populateAndEdit(listbox.selectedItem) save->click: parseAndSave(listbox.selectedItem) db.submit() disableTexts() cancel->click: disableTexts() The problem is in how I determine if we are inserting a new Store, or updating an existing one. The obvious solution to me would be to make it a "modal" process - that is, when I click edit, I go into edit mode, and the save button does things differently than if I were in add mode. I know I could make this more MVC-like, but I don't really think this simple form merits the added complexity. I'm not very experienced with winforms, so I'm not sure if I even have the right idea for how to tackle this. Is there a better way to do this? I would like to keep it simple, but usable.

• Syntax error in SharePoint calculated column formula

  Is it possible to debug SharePoint calculated column formulas? I am trying with a really simple SharePoint calculated formula =IF([YTD]<[Budget], "OK", "Not OK"). This being a Danish installations of SharePoint I believe the fomula should look like this: =HVIS([YTD]<=[Budget]; "OK"; "Not OK") But this just leaves with the same syntax error or not supported error. I have tried all combinations of IF/HVIS, with/without the square brackets, comma/semicolon, single quotes/double quotes, but nothing works. The formula =YTD<=Budget works.

• How do you modify a modal popup from ASP codebehind instead of letting it close?

  I'm using SimpleModal to create a popup on an ASP.net application. The OK button calls a server-side function - and based on the resulta of that function I'd like to modify the popup (make some things visible, etc.) instead of letting it close. If that's too difficult, I'd like to open the popup again without the user having to re-click on anything. I'm just not sure what the best way to do this is. Currently the OK button in the popup looks like this: <asp:ImageButton ID="submitInfoBtn" OnClick="btnSubmitInfo_Click" ImageUrl="css/assets/btn_ok.png" runat="server"/> and there is nothing defined that tells anything that the OK button should close the popup (the Cancel button has class="simplemodal-close", so I would expect it to do just that, but not the OK button) - anyone have any ideas on the best way through this?   When we command "net use" on command prompt, the result has four columns. Status Local Remote Network OK Z: \\10.x.x.x\Public Microsoft Windows Network X: \\10.y.y.y\Public My Network Redirector The Microsoft Windows Network(SMB)'s Status has OK value, but we don't. It's just empty. We implemented NPEnumResource function in our Network Provider dll. But I don't know how can I set the value(OK). How can I do that? Thanks

  OK so i have this website, http://www.leinstein.dk. You will see "Hello World!" This is from ok.php, ive made a script that refreshes ok.php after 10 seconds. Anyways, This does not show in IE. I dont know why, and i hope you can help me out. • Image swap with a javascript onclick dropdown menu

  So I've got this code that has an image and when you click it a dropdown menu appears. Pretty simple. The code works fine but I'm trying to incorporate an image swap on click and I'm having difficulty.
