• Javascript Split: without losing character

  I want to split certain text using JavaSscript. The text looks like: 9:30 pm The user did action A. 10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe. 11:30 am Messaged user John Doe Now, I want to split the string into events. i.e.: 9:30 pm The user did action A. would be one event. I'm using RegEx for this: var split = journals.split(/\d*\d:/); Thing is, the first two characters are getting lost. The split appears like this: 30 pm The user did action A. How do I split so that the split maintains the first two/three characters (ie 9: or 10:) etc? Thanks!

• How can I copy a queryset to a new model in django admin?

  I'm trying to write an action that allows the user to select the queryset and copy it to a new table. So: John, Mark, James, Tyler and Joe are in a table 1( called round 1) The user selects the action that say to "move to next round" and those same instances that were chosen are now also in the table for "round 2". I started trying with an action but don't really know where to go from here: def Round_2(modeladmin, request, queryset): For X in queryset: X.pk = None perform.short_description = "Move to Round 2" How can I copy them to the next table with all of their information (pk doesn't have to be the same)? • dynamic 404.jsp using struts

  I would like to display an intelligent 404 page with some application data. Currently, there is a 'dumb' jsp, so I just forward to the view and I am done with it. But now I guess I really need to forward to an action so that I can set some more data to display on the error.jsp. How do I do it through configuration via struts-config? I need congifuration because I do not want to touch any individual files that might be forwarding to the existing view. I tried doing the fol, but I get an error and I dont see anything in the log. So currently, <forward name="ErrorView" path="/Error404.jsp" type="org.apache.struts.action.ActionForward"> </forward> What I want: <forward name="ErrorView" path="/errorAction.do" type="org.apache.struts.action.ActionForward"> </forward>

• url rewriting + Asp.Net Login Form = Death

  Hi, on our site we do url rewriting to generate massive amounts of database generated pages. on every page, there is a Login control for users. like this: Internal aspx page: /DB.aspx?id=123 User visible url: /ABC/123.aspx, /ABC/456.aspx ... (url rewritten) unfortunately, the tag on each page has an action attribute of "DB.aspx?id=123". when the user clicks the button the browser is posting to /ABC/DB.aspx?id=123 which of course does not exist. solutions i tried: 1. change the action attribute by subclassing HtmlForm. this destroys the all other forms on the site. 2. remove the action attribute (so that the browser is always posting to the same url). this works on the rewritten pages but on "/" (the default.aspx in the root dir) i get a message that the verb post is not allowed on "/" (iis 6 and i have no control over mappings) anybody?

  Hi there, I have two pages in my simple MVC App with two defined routes: routes.MapRoute( "Results", // Route name "Results/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Results", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Main", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); I needed to have the results page load with just a product ID such as this: [MyDomain....]/Results/12345. But also the main page does a POST (using JQuery) to the Results Controller for updates using this route: [MyDomain....]/Main/Update along with a data bag. This works fine when I only have the "Default" route. But when I added the other "Results" route, all the POST calls to update are failing. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong??? Thanks a lot.

• Symfony 1.4 filter on index page

  I'm trying to apply a filter to the index page of my module, the code works as I've tested it on another page called filter within the same module. The problem I'm having is that on submitting the filter on the index page (form action points to index) Symfony instead decides to route to the create action for some reason. Although the create method isn't visible in the URL a new form is instantiated on the index page which leads me to suspect it is routing to the create action: http://locahost.com/frontend_dev.php/mymodule Any ideas how I can get a filter to work on the index page?

• How to run lengthy tasks from an ASP.NET page?

  I've got an ASP.NET page with a simple form. The user fills out the form with some details, uploads a document, and some processing of the file then needs to happens on the server side. My question is - what's the best approach to handling the server side processing of the files? The processing involves calling an exe. Should I use seperate threads for this? Ideally I want the user to submit the form without the web page just hanging there while the processing takes place.   I want to fetch posts based on their status, so I have this code inside my PostsController index action. It seems to be cluttering the index action, though, and I'm not sure it belongs here. • How can I launch an application as Administrator after a WiX MSI has completed?

  Hi there I want to launch an application with admin rights after I have completed an installation using a WiX based MSI. I can launch the application just fine, on XP but with Windows 7, it's an issue. The application has a manifest embedded in it that says it should run as administrator and I've changed the impersonate attribute in the Custom Action to "no". I can't change the execute attribute to deferred, as this only works before the InstallFinalize action and I need it after the user has clicked Finish in the MSI. This is my Custom Action: <CustomAction Id="LaunchApp" FileKey="App" ExeCommand="[Command Line Args]" Execute="immediate" Impersonate="no" Return="asyncNoWait" /> Any help on this would be appreciated.   Hi, In my web application, I use strust2 url tag to pass parameters like id etc., For example, I use a link to delete an entity and I use param to pass the id of the entity to be deleted. And I follow this throughout my web app for adding, editing, deleting an entity. During run time, sometimes, I don't get the params to be stored in my action's bean properties. When I see the link that is generated, I get something like <a href='/projit1/p/discuss/viewDiscussion.action?d=11&amp;amp;amp;projid=11&amp;amp;disid=4'> What are these amps for ? why do they sit in between the action calls (made by link via url tag actions ) ? By the time I traverse back and forth in my web app, I get 10s and 20s of amp sitting in the request URL. What is the problem here ? Please help.

  I am using ASP.Net MVC but this probably applies to all MVC patterns in general. My problem, for example I have companies and in each company I have a list of contacts. When I have selected a company I can see its details and a list of the contacts for that company. When I want to add a new contact for that company, should the implementation of that action go into the company controller as an "AddContact" action or should it go into the contact controller into a "New" action and we pass the Company ID in the URL? What is the usual way of dealing with this sort of thing in ASP.Net MVC? Is there a better stategy?

  I have a controller action that is accepting sensitive data. public ActionResult TakeSensitiveData(SensitiveData data){ data.SaveSomewhere(); } To ensure the data is secure I want to be certain requests are made using HTTPS (SSLv3, TLS 1). One of the approaches I've considered using was the RequireHttpsAttribute on my action: [RequireHttps] public ActionResult TakeSensitiveData(SensitiveData data){ data.SaveSomewhere(); } However, upon testing this I fiddler revealed that an HTTP request made to the action is 302 redirected to HTTPS. My question is this: If I've made a request that is 302 redirected to HTTPS haven't I already sent the sensitive data over HTTP before the redirect?

• ASP.net MVC support for URL's with hyphens

  Is there an easy way to get the MvcRouteHandler to convert all hyphens in the action and controller sections of an incoming URL to underscores as hyphens are not supported in method or class names. This would be so that I could support such structures as sample.com/test-page/edit-details mapping to Action edit_details and Controller test_pagecontroller while continuing to use MapRoute method. I understand I can specify an action name attribute and support hyphens in controller names which out manually adding routes to achieve this however I am looking for an automated way so save errors when adding new controllers and actions.
