• Choose the Text Editor Used to View Source Code in Internet Explorer

  Everyone has a favorite text editor that they like to use when viewing or working with source code. If you are unhappy with the default choice in Internet Explorer 8 then join us as we show you how to set up access to your favorite text editor. A Look at Before Here is Internet Explorer on our test system ready to help us view the source code for one of the pages here at the site. Perhaps “Notepad” is your default source code viewer… Or in the case of our test system where “EditPad Lite” was the default due to choices we made while installing it. Choose Your Favorite Text Editor Chances are you have your own personal favorite and want to make it the default source code viewer. To get started go to the “Tools Menu”  and click on “Developer Tools” or press “F12” to access the “Developer Tools Window”. Once you have the “Developer Tools Window” open go to the “File Menu”, then “Customize Internet Explorer View Source”, and click on “Other”. Once you have clicked on “Other” you will see the “Program Directory” for the current default app. Here you can see the “Program Files Folder” for “EditPad Lite”. To change the default app simply browse for the appropriate program folder. On our test system we decided to change the default to “Editra”. Once you have located the program that you want to use click on the “.exe” file for that app and click “Open”. Once you have clicked “Open”, all that is left for you to do is close the “Developer Tools Window”…everything else is already taken care of. And just like that you can be viewing source code with your favorite text editor. Conclusion If you have been unhappy with the default source code viewer in Internet Explorer 8 then you can set up access to your favorite text editor in just a couple of minutes. • Is there a way to edit a control's template based on the default template?

  I'm trying to make just a few minor tweaks to the default template of a checkbox. Now I understand how to make a new template from scratch, but this I do not know. I did manage to (I think?) extract the default template via the method here. • CSS width fills out in IE8 Compatibility mode, works as it should in normal mode

• In Ant, copy all files from a tree of folders into a single folder?

  Is it possible to use Ant to copy all the files (not folders) from a hierarchy of folders into one destination folder? For instance, I have a tree like this: res |-images | |-fg.png | +-bg.png +-sounds +-music.mp3 And I would like a result like this: data |-fg.png |-bg.png +-music.mp3 The way things are named, filename conflicts are not an issue. Is this possible to do with Ant?

• Creating custom taskbar icon in Flex application

  I'm trying to create custom icons for my taskbar/desktop icons in my Flex WindowedApplication. So far, I've edited my -app.xml file to include the following: icons/t_16.png icons/t_32.png icons/t_48.png icons/t_128.png When the application is run, however, the default flex/air icon is still showing. I have my systemChrome set to standard, and transparent to false, not that they have any relevance to this. Any ideas?

• All Xen domU LVM volumes corrupt after reboot

  I'm running a Debian Squeeze dom0, and after rebooting it all 7 of my domUs have data corruption. Each is setup as ext3 partition directly on a separate lvm2 volume. None of the lvm volumes will mount; all have bad superblocks. I've tried e2fsck with each superblock to no avail. What else can I try? Each domU has two LVM volumes connected to it, one for the disk and one for swap. The disk is mounted at root, formatted as a normal ext3 partition as a xen-blk device. The volumes are never mounted outside of the guest OS. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 using the instructions here. I'm not sure that they didn't shutdown properly, all I know is they were corrupt after I issues a clean 'reboot' on the dom0. • apache mod_cache in v2.2 - enable cache based on url

  We are using apache2.2 as a front-end server with application servers as reverse proxies behind apache. We are using mod_cache for some images and enabled it like this: <IfModule mod_disk_cache.c> CacheEnable disk / CacheRoot /var/cache/apache2/mod_disk_cache CacheIgnoreCacheControl On CacheMaxFileSize 2500000 CacheIgnoreURLSessionIdentifiers jsessionid CacheIgnoreHeaders Set-Cookie </IfModule> The image urls vary completely and have no common start pattern, but they all end in ".png". Thats why we used the root in CacheEnable / If not served from the cache, the request is forwarded to an application server via reverse proxy. So far so good, cache is working fine. But I really only need to cache all image request ending in ".png". My above configuration still works as my application server send an appropriate Cache-Control: no-cache header on the way back to apache. So most pages send a no-cache header back and they get not cached at all. My ".png" responses doesn't send a Cache-Control header so apache is only going to cache all urls with ".png". Fine. But when a new request enters apache, apache does not know that only .png requests should be considered, so every request is checking a file on disk (recorded with strace -e trace=file -p pid): [pid 19063] open("/var/cache/apache2/mod_disk_cache/zK/q8/Kd/g6OIv@woJRC_ba_A.header", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) I don't want to have apache going to disk every request, as the majority of requests are not cached at all. And we have up to 10.000 request/s at peak time. Sometimes our read IO wait spikes. It is not getting really slow, but we try to tweak it for better performance. In apache 2.4 you can say: <LocationMatch .png$> CacheEnable disk </LocationMatch> This is not possible in 2.2 and as I see no backports for debian I am not going to upgrade. So I tried to tweak apache2.2 to follow my rules: <IfModule mod_disk_cache.c> SetEnvIf Request_URI "\.png$" image RequestHeader unset Cache-Control RequestHeader append Cache-Control no-cache env=!image CacheEnable disk / CacheRoot /var/cache/apache2/mod_disk_cache #CacheIgnoreCacheControl on CacheMaxFileSize 2500000 CacheIgnoreURLSessionIdentifiers jsessionid CacheIgnoreHeaders Set-Cookie </IfModule> The idea is to let apache decide to serve request from cache based on Cache-control header (CacheIgnoreCacheControl default to off). And before simply set a RequestHeader based on the request. If it is not an image request, set a Cache-control header, so it should bypass the cache at all. This does not work, I guess because of late processing of RequestHeader directive, see https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_headers.html#early I can't add early processing as "early" keyword can't be used together with a conditional "env=!image" I can't change the url requesting the images and I know there are of course other solutions. But I am only interested in configuring apache2.2 to reach my goal. Does anybody has an idea how to achieve my goal?

  Hello, Just upgraded an old box to Ubuntu to 10.04.2 LTS. Apache will not display images to a browser that are over about 2K. Small images seem to display fine. Static HTML and PHP continues to works fine as well. While many things could cause performance problems, on active Enterprise Content Management systems, keeping database statistics updated is extremely important.The Oracle Database have a set of built-in optimizer utilities that can help make database queries more efficient. It is strongly recommended to update or re-create the statistics about the physical characteristics of a table and the associated indexes in order to maximize the efficiency of optimizers. These physical characteristics include: Number of records Number of pages Average record length The frequency with which you need to update statistics depends on how quickly the data is changing. Typically, statistics should be updated when the number of new items since the last update is greater than ten percent of the number of items when the statistics were last updated. If a large amount of documents are being added or removed from the system, the a post step should be added to gather statistics upon completion of this massive data change. In some cases, you may need to collect statistics in the middle of the data processing to expedite its execution.   as a beginner of asm, I am checking gcc -S generated asm code to learn. why gcc 4.x default reserve 8 bytes for stack when calling a method? func18 is the empty function with no return no param no local var defined. I can't figure out why 8 bytes is reserved here (neither any forum/site mention for the reason, ppl seems take it for granted) is it for the %ebp just push? or return type?! many thx! .globl _func18 _func18: pushl %ebp movl %esp, %ebp subl $8, %esp .text

  Hi All, I really would like to know how i can set my application 'Cognos8' as startpage when just typing the host name of the server. When i now type my hostname 'http://myhost' i get the iistart.htm page instead i would like to be able to get 'http://myhost/Cognos8'. tried http redirect to redirect myhost to myhost/cognos8 which ends in a loop. i tried to set the physical path of default web site to the physical path of my Cognos8 application but also this does not seem to work. i know this should not to hard. • Is there a default buffer length for 'sprintf' method?

  Hi, I used sprintf method to format data to a string which I want to write to a file, in C++ console application using VS 2008. The Input is a particular message, which has various variables and values (ex: Type 'int' and Value '10' / Type string and value "abc", etc.) When I send a two messages it works perfectly. But When I send more than two messages it gives a runtime error saying 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xabababab. Why is this happening? Is it because the method 'sprintf' has a default buffer length? How can I overcome this problem?

For Rails 2, you can see the answer to "How do I use long IDs in Rails?"1 In Rails 3, however, this will throw an error. I'm not sure if that's because the class is no long used, or if the code needs to go in the same place. You can see in active_record/connection_adapters/mysql_adapter.rb that the NATIVE_DATABASE_TYPES constant is still defined. What's the correct way to achieve the same effect in Rails 3?

• How can I put my own text hover into default Eclipse editor?

  I need to put some extra information into to the standard "javadoc" hover, that shows up when you go with mouse over some token. Or I need to create a new hover showing that information while pressing some key (like alt) and then hovering (I can see that this is done e.g. with the shift key, which enables us to see the hover with sourcecode, instead of javadoc). So far I found documentation on how to create hover in your own editors, but I need to extend the default java editor. Basically I am interested in showing some e-mail information related to the classname (token) over which user is hovering. Is there any extension point that could be used for this?   Some of you sure know the jQuery-Plugin Imageflow on hxxp://finnrudolph.de/ImageFlow/ (sorry for that, I definitely need to gain reputation, working on it ;)) The default behaviour is that the images within the image-container (which has 100% width in this case) will be resized according to the image-container. There's an option to declare the distance between every image and it would be much better, if this value would be encreased and decreased with the window-resize-event. Everything seems to happen in a function called "moveTo" which is unfortunately also responsible for the resizing when moving to another image. I tried it since hours now but I don't come to a solution. Find the source-code here, and the mentioned function "moveTo" on line 554. Thank your very much for any help! Tim

• How can I enable Pascal casing by default when using Jackson JSON in Spring MVC?

  I have a project that uses Spring MVC to create and handle multiple REST endpoints. I'm currently working on using Jackson to automatically handle the seralization/deserialization of JSON using the @RequestBody and @ResponseBody annotations. I have gotten Jackson working, so I've got a starting point. My problem is that our old serialization was done manually and used Pascal casing instead of Camel casing ("MyVariable" instead of "myVariable"), and Jackson does Camel casing by default. I know that I can manually change the name for a variable using @JsonProperty. That being said, I do not consider adding "@JsonProperty" to all of my variables to be a viable long-term solution. Is there a way to make Jackson use Pascal casing when serializing and deserializing other than using the @JsonProperty annotation?
