  • Error playing a video: VLC does not support the audio or video format "IV50"

    - by Zeeshan Rang
I have used every step mentioned in the below given link: http://www.moviecodec.com/solutions/iv31-iv32-iv41-iv50-indeo-3-4-and-5-8211/ installed older version on quick-time, window media player classic. I mean everything. But still no luck running the file. I was also trying to find a converter to convert the file into an acceptable format. But unable to do that either. Can anyone help me with this. Regards Zeeshan

  • Is there a good command-line OS from which I can launch VMs?

    - by Dredj
Generally speaking, I'm interested in something that can load quickly and, depending on what I want to do, can choose to launch a Virtual Machine that is tailored to my desired activity. So, something that loads to (preferably) a command line, then if I want to run my Windows 7 machine that has all of my programming junk on it, I can simply enter the command to launch some VM player and close it when I'm done.

I'm considering installing Linux and running the virtual machine from the Linux, but I'm not sure whether I can expect any performance gains? It's a 2.4ghz core 2 duo machine with 4gb ram and 5400 rpm hdd. Can somebody please recommend very cut down version of linux that can run VMWare player and isn't resource hungry? Thank you

  • Software to add Lyrics to MP3 files ID3 metadata

    - by Leniel Macaferi
What software do you use to automatically add lyrics to MP3 files? I mean the kind of sotware that can scan your entire Windows Media Player or iTunes library and do the job. I want to add lyrics to my MP3 files so that when I'm listening to music on my iPhone I can see the lyrics on the screen. Thank you very much for helping me out to find the best software out there. Edit: the operating system I use is Windows 7.

  • Use lineout on Mac for audio processing

    - by eltufto
Does anyone know of a way to set the linein on a Mac to route from the lineout? I want to essentially work with the music played on my Mac. An alternative solution I suppose would be to set the Linein as the output from iTunes/other music player. For context: My specific use-case is audio processing in Processing with the minim library, calling getLineIn. Trying to create some visuals that respond to the music being played.

  • MediaContextNotificatioNWindow Error Occurs When Trying to Shutdown Windows XP

    - by Psycho Bob
I am working with a Windows XP laptop that whenever it is shutdown will display a warning that the "MediaContextNotificationWindow" is attempting to close, eventually requiring you to force it to close. It does not appear to matter if the laptop is on or off the network, it will still display the message. I have done a little research into the MediaContextNotificationWindow, and it seems like it is either a part of the Windows Media Player or .Net 3.5, though I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone come across this error and know how to resolve it?

  • Stream video from one app to another in OS X (Software video input device)

    - by Josh
Is there any way to take a video stream from one application, for example VLC Media Player, and present that video stream to other applications as a video input source? For example, could I broadcast a video file from my hard disk to a website that allows video conferencing using a Flash applet? Basically, I'm looking for something like Soundflower, but for video streams. Is this possible?

  • Listen to music from different sources possible?

    - by hsmit
I would like to be able to listen to any song I've listened once before. Sometimes I listen to a CD, then to a MP3, a portable music player, ipod, radio channel, online services. I think it must be possible to save an index online of all my music. This index must indicate where the music is stored and ultimately be able to retrieve that song from the location. Is there a service available who accomplishes this?

    - by Abhijith Madhav
I have a video of a tennis match whose Resolution = 1280 * 720 Codec = H264 Frame rate = 50fps (Copy paste from info given by totem media player) My laptop is not powerful enough to play this video smoothly. How can I reduce the frame-rate of this video so that my laptop can play it? I have observed that my laptop can play videos with 25fps without an issue. I use ubuntu. I wouldn't mind using windows to edit/re-encode this video.
