What I want to do is get a list of distinct values within a field on my table .... the equivalent of one of the following: SELECT DISTINCT myfieldname FROM mytable (or alternatively) SELECT myfieldname FROM mytable GROUP BY myfieldname I'd at least like to do it the Django way before resorting to raw sql.

I know it has to help with technical documentation, but what about actual programming? Are certain constructs in a programming language also there in natural languages? Does knowing how to write a 20 page research paper help with writing a 20k loc programming project?

• Drupal, Lightbox: is possible to have a "2-level" lightbox with different sizes ?

  hi, I have a gallery of images and I use the lightbox to display them in a modal window. I would like to also show them in Fullscreen (or at least full window). I saw that when the image is too big Lightbox2 shows a small "Enlarge" icon on the bottom right and it display the image full dimensions. Can I have that icon always, and always resize the images in the lightbox ?

What's 'the right way' or at least a good way to organise this with Doxygen? One overall doxy project or one per project/solution? And what's the right way to handle COM, which has generated code and a lot of 'fluff' that will bloat generated HTML files.

When a touch event occurs over the movie player, the main view seems to 'eat' all the events, leaving the media player idle. I know how to minimize or make a frame invisible but this has to be done real fast cos it's going to happen alot in each second (at least once every second). I have gotten the following to work based upon a example found on the net: INSERT INTO tableOne(a, b) SELECT a, $var FROM tableOne WHERE b = $var2 UNION ALL SELECT $var,$var Ok, nothing strange about that. But what happens when I want to insert a third value into the database that has nothing to do with the logic of the Select being done? Like : INSERT INTO tableOne(a, b, c ) How could that be done?

  Hi, i want to get the domain extention (at least i hope it is called this way) from the site name the user is currently on. so from www.bbc.co.uk it's co.uk and www.google.com = .com http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask = .com etc. especially the ones with the double name (like co.uk) gives me headaches....   1- How does this work: char *ptr = "hi"; Now the compiler will put this string in the memory (I'm guessing the stack), and create a pointer to it? Is this is how it works? 2- Also if it is created locally in a function, when the function returns will the memory occupied by the string be freed? 3- Last but not least, why is this not allowed: ptr[0] = 'H'; ?
