• vhost.conf file in PLESK not working as intended

  I have configured a vhost file for my domain but it does not seem to work. These are the steps I took, please correct me if I am wrong. First I made a file called vhost.conf in: /var/www/vhosts/*domain*/conf/vhost.conf The content of the vhost file looks like this: <Directory /var/www/vhosts/*domain*/httpdocs> php_admin_flag engine on php_admin_flag display_errors on </Directory> Now in my /etc/php.ini i set display_errors=Off After everything i rebuild with: /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -a But I don't see the any errors in my page. When i turn on the display_errors in /etc/php.ini only then can I see the errors. I know for a fact that the vhost file is read, because when i type nonsense values i get an error when restarting apache saying there are errors in the vhost file. Anyone know what the problem can be. Should there be special settings in either the php.ini file or the httpd.conf file. The httpd.conf i edit is in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf. Is this the file that PLESK uses or is there another, because the values i see there do not really reflect the http folders of my domain. The httpd file looks like this now. # The document root DocumentRoot "/var/www/html" # i guess this is the base directory <Directory /> Order Deny,Allow Deny from all Options None AllowOverride None </Directory> # And i guess here are all my domains located, but there aren't any here <Directory "/var/www/html"> Options None AllowOverride None Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> Only this directory /var/www/html is not used by me, I use the directory /var/www/vhosts. The only folder found in /var/www/html is a folder called awstats. Does plesk use other files, and where are they located. I hope this all makes sense to anyone, and i hope i can find a solution

• "powershell has stopped working" on PS exit after creating IIS User

  On a Windows Server 2012 box, I'm using PS to create a new IIS User (for automated deployments using MSDeploy). The command itself appears to work fine -- the user is created -- but as soon as I exit my PowerShell session (typing exit or just closing the command window), a dialog is displayed stating "powershell has stopped working", with the following details: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: PowerShell NameOfExe: powershell.exe FileVersionOfSystemManagementAutomation: 6.2.9200.16628 InnermostExceptionType: Runtime.InteropServices.InvalidComObject OutermostExceptionType: Runtime.InteropServices.InvalidComObject DeepestPowerShellFrame: unknown DeepestFrame: System.StubHelpers.StubHelpers.GetCOMIPFromRCW ThreadName: unknown OS Version: 6.2.9200.2.0.0.400.8 Locale ID: 1033 The PS commands in question are: [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("Microsoft.Web.Management") [Microsoft.Web.Management.Server.ManagementAuthentication]::CreateUser("Foo", "Bar") Why is this happening and how can I avoid it? UPDATE: It appears that Windows Server 2012 R2 does not have this same bug.

• Exchange Transport Service Started but not working

  Good day, Here is the problem : We are hosting a Microsoft Exchange Server. Everything working fine until recently, where the mail transport seems to go wrong. We almost have to restart the service every morning. The thing is that the transport service is started, but the mail are not delivered to the users and senders to our server get a delayed delivery notification. When we restart the service, all the mail is then delivered to the users and we're good to go for a day or two. Things I've noticed : The store service is growing to around 6 Gb of used RAM, and the w3wp.exe service is hanging around 700mb RAM. Is there a way to schedule a restart of the transport role every 4 hours or something while I'm solving the issue so I don't have to worry when I leave for the week-end? And most of all...does anyone have any idea on how to solve this issue? Thanks, Philippe

• TP-Link TL-WA701N not working good as wireless extender

  I bought the device in subject to extend the range of my WPA2/PSK-protected wifi network powered by a TP-Link TL-WR340G device (AP+router). I configured it as follows: Operation mode: Universal Repeater MAC of AP: scanned my SSID and got it Channel width: 20MHz Security options: the same as the parent AP (WPA2/PSK with AES encryption) After configuration inSSIDer shows me two APs beaconing the same SSID at different SNRs (because I was with my laptop close to the extender). After a few hours my tablet, far from the parent AP, stopped working. I found that the scan reported two networks with the same SSID: one WPA-protected and one free at all. This happened very frequently. Rebooting the extender by unplugging it worked but this doesn't last long. Sometimes the extender stops transmitting at all, sometimes it beacons an open network to which nobody can connect (because there is no DHCP). What's wrong with my configuration?

I try to do - /etc/init.d/php-fastcgi restart Also i try to restart my Nginx : /etc/init.d/php-fastcgi restart How can i turn on my PHP again ?? My server run - Ubuntu 11.10 Nginx 1.2.3 MySQL PHP-FastCGI Also i want to ask it is possible that i have 2 Nginx installs on my server and they run in the same time ? when i check the Nginx version in the console its says that the version is 1.2.3 And when i go to my site i see - 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.0.5 How can i fix this ?

  Hi, History of problem: I formated computer (HP Pavalion Desktop). When I restart computer - computer come to first screen before boot and not response to any signals (f2, f10, ESC, etc..) I take out motherboad battery return after time back and power computer - result : as before I disconnect wires of hard-disk and insert livecd UBUNTU to cd and power coputer: result: works without hard-disk. What is the root of problem: hard-disk broken? hard-disk wires not working well? BIOS? other reason How can I fix the problem?(Buy new hard disk etc...) Thanks, Yosef

• Sshfs is not working..

  Hi, When I run sshpass -p 'mypass' sshfs 'root'@'68.19.40.16':/ '/dir' -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no,debug It successfully mounts but it runs on foreground. When I run without 'debug' parameter, it doesn't mount at all. Server is ubuntu 8.04 Any ideas why? UPDATE: When I run the command as ROOT it does mount. • Why isn't Synergy working for me?

  It worked for about a week then stopped working. I'm trying to make it work between a Windows 7 laptop and a Windows XP laptop. My router is a Linksys E1000. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program multiple times. I've tried port forwarding. I've tried making exceptions in the firewall. I've tried disabling the firewalls. It might be relevant also that Input Director doesn't work either. What am I doing wrong?

• Xenserver 5.5 U2 a bit unstable with an unstable W2003 VM

  In the last week I had to reboot the host system twice and the second one by means of the power button. The system is a Dell PE 6950 (4 Opteron dual core, 2,8 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, 900 GB disk in a RAID 10 array composed by 4 450GB 15000 rpm disks) with XenServer 5.5 U2. We're installing it and at now there are working in production a 2003 32 bit Windows server VM with 2 GB RAM, 3 vcpu and about 200 GB disk in 4 partition (12 GB boot, 20 GB program, 80 GB user data, 80 GB other data). The first time I was compressing many Windows 2003 folders (some tens GB by means of W2003 compressed folder option) from a Windows remote console and some hours before my colleague installed Backup Exec agent that was alredy installed and that required a reboot (that was pending). The console stopped responding, it was no more possible to connect by means of remote console or by means of the console of the XenCentre, it was still possible from the network to use the shared folder of the VM and the programs on it (2 db and a GIS program), but the print server didn't work any more and I couldn't give remote reboot from other domain controller hosts. I couldn't stop the virtual machine neither from the XenCentre, neither from the command line of the host also forcing the reboot. I had to reboot the host server. Yesterday it has been worst. I installed a template of another VM, CentOS 5.3 and then, put the DVD in the drive of the host. Then, before the install and after the boot I checked for defect the DVD and the W2003 VM began to respond slowly (I was connected by means of an administration remote console) the task manager showed only mid or low load, it is, only the first of the 3 vcpu was loaded (about 70%), while the other two were about at 20% and also the disk I/O was not so heavy. Then the users were not so happy because they couldn't any more use the MS word docs on the server. I immediately stopped the check of the DVD (to do that I had to force the stop of such Centos 5.3 VM), then some users could again use their docs, but other had still problems, so I decided to reboot the VM, but it doesn't stopped, neither from XenCenter, neither from command line, neither forcing the reboot. Then I tried to reboot of the host, but it didn't worked, neither from the XenCentre, neither from the host prompt (shutdown -r now as root: it told that it was shutting down, but then it didn't did that). So I had to power off by means of the power button of the server (before I tried some Magic SyS REQ, but I saw that Xen isn't compiled with this option enabled). What could you suggest about my problem, what can I look, search and see? In the W2003 VM logs there are no errors or warning to explain what happened. • customErrors="RemoteOnly" not working properly in Server 2008

  It would appear that on my brand new Windows Server 2008 with IIS7, customErrors is not working. We have customErrors set to RemoteOnly in the web.config on our Asp.Net sites and applications. However, no matter what we do, it would appear that our sites act like it's set to On and we can't get any detailed messages showing up on our applications when remoted into our servers. I'm not entirely sure how to trace where this is being overrided, or if there is something in the way the server is configured that would make the server think the request is internal? How does this actually resolve correctly, anyway? Any help is appreciated... Our network admin has added domains to our hosts file to direct applications to the IP address.

• rsync ssh not working in crontab after reboot

  I was using a script to perform rsync in sudo crontab. The script does a 2-way rsync (from serverA to serverB and reverse). the rsync uses ssh to connect between servers. After i reboot both the server machines, the rsync is not working in sudo crontab. I also setup a new cronjob and it fails, The error is: rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(600) [sender=3.0.6] rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [receiver] However, when run from terminal, the rync script works as expected without issues. please help. looks like issue with ssh. however, i am able to ssh into either servers withoiut issues.

• Horizontal scrolling not working in Windows 7 running on MBP using Boot Camp

  Is there a way to enable horizontal scrolling on Windows installed on a bootcamp partition of MBP 13" Core 2 Duo, using a trackpad? I had a look into the Boot Camp Control panel settings, but could not find a setting that suggested this. I used the Boot Camp drivers that came with the MBP in the Mac OS X Install disk. The vertical scroll is working fine, and the horizontal scroll works fine in the Mac world of things, so the hardware is fine. I think maybe there might be an additional install for a driver that we may have to install? Or any update? Thanks in advance for all your help. :)

• Url rewriting stops working after changing default port on iis7

  I have migrated the IIS6 webserver 2003 websites to IIS7 webserver 2008 using msdeploy tool. Application pool setting are changed with "Enable 32-bit Applications=true", "Managed_Pipeline_Mode=Classic","Identity=NetworkService" Framework=v1.1/2.0. All the websites are working fine on default port along with url rewriting migrated from iis6. When I start the webserver on port other than default port by changing bindings, url rewriting stops workings and get 404 error in logs. I think I don't have to change the handler mapping cause I am running it in classic mode. How can I troubleshoot this?

• Adobe Flash not working anymore with Browsers

  Hi guys, I have a really annoying problem: essentially, Adobe Flash is not working anymore. For instance, I cant watch any clip on youtube and I always get a black screen saying: Movie not loaded ... I have the newest Flash version (10.0.45.2), and the problem is the same with IE, Firefox or Chrome. I am using WIN XP and I turned of Antivirus software as well as Firewall, still I cant watch any flash stuff. Anyone an idea what could have happened in the last week? Never had a problem before that! Thanks!

• screensavergraceperiod not working

  Good Morning, in windows XP there is a registry setting called ScreenSaverGracePeriod which lets you set a time period between the activation of the screensaver and locking of the screen. As as result, as soon as you see the screensaver beeing activated, you have X seconds to press a key or move the mouse in order to avoid having to log in again. Unfortunately, this setting isn't working on my machine. I tried everything I could find on the net (setting the period as stirng or number), but it still does not work. Could it be that some kind of security suite (Symantec) or anything else is blocking this feature? Cheers, Ralf

• SQL Server Windows Auth Login not working

  I've had someone set up a domain controller on windows 2008 on one server, and sql server 2008 on another. The domain seems to be working fine, I'm logged on as a domain user on both servers, nothing seems to be a problem there. However, when I try to add a domain user/group to SQL Server Security (e.g. clicking ok from the create login screen) it says it can't find it (even though I've used the search to find the correct account in the first place), when I try to logon (even though I haven't added it yet) it says something about the account being part of an untrusted domain instead of saying I don't have permission to log on. Anyone have any ideas on what is set up incorrectly?

• Mysql Cluster not working on Ubuntu

  I am unable to setup MySQL Cluster on ubuntu servers. As a starting point I started from the link but I am not successful and the tar ball version I download is 6.3.45. As I wanted to test the mysql cluster, the Data node and SQL node are same but sql never appeared as connected in management node console and it looks like below. [ndbd(NDB)] 2 node(s) id=2 @192.168.1.107 (Version: version number, Nodegroup: 0, Master) id=3 @192.168.1.108 (Version: version number, Nodegroup: 0) [ndb_mgmd(MGM)] 1 node(s) id=1 @192.168.1.105 (Version: version number) [mysqld(API)] 2 node(s) id=4 (not connected, accepting connect from 192.168.1.107) id=5 (not connected, accepting connect from 192.168.1.108) On all the 3 machines mysql-server & client(apt-get install mysql-server mysql-client) were already installed and I completely stopped and also removed them at the system start up. Now the mysqld is from extracted cluster tar ball(/usr/local/mysql/support-files/mysql.server). As for testing, I created a test database on both the data nodes but the tables are also not syncing on other node. I checked many links, configurations are remained similar in all the links but somewhere it's going wrong. Anymore extra package is required?, Could anyone help me here..?. I am trying this for past 3 days... Thank you!

  I am planning a series of tests that take a couple of hours each. However, you can not split a test so I do not want the next test to begin if there is not enough time within the specified working hours of the day to complete it. Also, I would like to begin each day with a set-up period before the actual testing can begin. Is there a way to automatically begin each day with a setup period and have tasks that can not complete before the end of the specified work day defer starting until the next day?

• ethernet not working

  i wanted to know how do i setup an ethernet connection on a laptop,my isp gave me a telephone like cable which fits the ethernet port. i guess its the ethernet cable. when i connect it, nothing happens on the pc the ethernet card(realtek pcie gbe family controller) says cable not plugged in. i am using wired connection for first time.the system is completely stable with softwares .the drivers are also automatically updated through a manufacturer installed update system. the isp says there must be some sort of light on the port. whats the problem? how do get it working.

  For slightly complicated reasons we tend to give people console access to VMs via the webui. This has worked fine in the past, however when the users update their client machines to Windows 7 (or Vista, I am told, although I have not tested that), then the console fails to work. On IE8, having allowed the ActiveX control, the tab causes a "Internet Explorer has stopped working" dialog. On Firefox 3.5 , once the plugin has been installed, using the console causes the browser to crash. I've updated to the most recent VC 2.5 release, and ESX 3.5u5. Anyone else seeing this? Any clues how to get round it (other than using the fat client). Nigel.
