  • Is there a list of common object that implement IDisposable for the using statement?

    I was wondering if there was some sort of cheat sheet for which objects go well with the using statement... SQLConnection, MemoryStream, etc. Taking it one step further, it would be great to even show the other "pieces of the puzzle", like how you should actually call connection.Close() before the closing using statement bracket. Anything like that exist? If not, maybe we should make one.

However, it always exits with a status code -10737something when i close the program i think the problem is in the deconstructer, maybe some memory leaks ... any suggestion on how to solve this problem, or to find the error using Qt Creator? thanks

    Hi, I have the binaries: perl-5.10.1-3.tar.bz2 and I don't have access (admin privileges) to run setup.exe for cygwin, my question is how can I install manually inside cygwin the module for perl: perl-5.10.1-3.tar.bz2 ? Im not sure why this did not work with a MVC2 project and only with a MVC. However, I find that I'm not inspired by my choice of classes for next semester. Maybe I'm being too judgmental. I'd like to know what positive experience was gained from a course in particular.     i have a jquery toggle that animates and displays a DIV. i have a transparent PNG , drop shadow type background image, and when it first appears, i see a black background then it dissapears once the image loads... is there a way around that? is that a bug? i have it animating slow, so maybe that has something to do with it... should i just make it show()?

  • IE is losing ClearType

    I'm experiencing something really strange! I have a div that I'm hiding with JS (jQuery). Like this: $('#myDiv').hide(); Then when I make a fadeIn like this: $("#myDiv").fadeIn('slow'); then the text loses ClearType in IE but not in FF. If I go with toggle insted of fadeIn, then it's all fine. What is IE up to and is there any solutions for it because it looks horrible. (I have ClearType on as you maybe understand at this point)

    Is there a way to determine what kind of data plan a device has so an app provides a less rich experience if a data plan is not available? I imagine the connector factory would still be able to return me an HTTPConnection but it would cost the user serious money for lots of data, and I'd like to be nice and prevent that. I thought there would be a way to query device capabilities in the MIDP API, but maybe it's in CLDC?
