  • Validate Linq2Sql before SubmitChanges()

    - by Nick Gotch
Can anyone tell me if/how you can validate the changes in a data context in Linq2Sql before calling SubmitChanges(). The situation I have is that I create a context, perform multiple operations and add many inserts alongside other processing tasks and then rollback if the submit fails. What I'd prefer to do is make some kind of "Validate()" call after certain tasks are done so that I can handle it before submitting the entire job.

  • Android Custom View to Activity communication

    - by Blumer
I have a custom control/view that observes the direction of a gesture within its bounds. I would like to send a different message back to the Activity hosting the View depending on the direction of the gesture. I'm having a hard time determine what the right way to do this is. I would think I could raise a custom event in the control and then stick a listener on the control in the activity, but I cannot find any information on custom events in Android. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Listbox of comboboxes and binding them WPF

    - by Bashawy
Hello, I have a situation where i have a listbox of comboboxes , mainly it binds to a bridge entity so the object contains foreign keys . What i need to do is that i need to bind the display of the combos to the respective entities and their value members to the foreign key values in the bridge entity that i bind the listbox to. the code i have now is : <ListBox Name="lstServices" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid Margin="2" DataContext="{Binding ElementName=wndMain,Path=DataContext}"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ComboBox Name="cmbService" SelectedIndex="0" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectedValuePath="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Mode=TemplatedParent}, Path=FK_ServiceID}" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=AllServices}" Grid.Column="0"></ComboBox> <ComboBox Name="cmbService_Role" Margin="2,0,0,0" SelectedValuePath="{Binding Path=FK_ServiceRoleID}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=AllService_Roles}" Grid.Column="1"></ComboBox> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> I could manage to display the values that i needed but since the List Item context changed i can't get to the listbox itemSource . Any help is appreciated Bishoy

  • MouseMove sensibility

    - by serhio
I use MouseMove event to move objects(say labels). simple principle(schematic): OnMouseMove(e MouseEventArgs) deltaX = e.X - lastX foreach label in labels label.Location.X += deltaX lastX = e.X Now, when I have one label there is no problem. Once the labels number increase, I start to see the labels traces along the moving trajectory. Is there a way to prevent this kind of traces? tried label.Visible = false label.Location.X += deltaX label.Visible = true does not help.

  • Cross Thread Exception in PropertyChangedEvent in WPF

    - by Ashish Ashu
I have a ListView that is binded to my custom collection. At run time , I am updating the certain properties of my entity in my custom collection in my ViewModel. At the same time , I am also doing the custom sorting in the listview. The custom sorting is applicable when I click on the any column header of the listview. For example, I am updating the current datetime on my entity on every 5 seconds and simulaneously , I am applying custom sorting based on DateTime. (The Listview is third party control). Hence I am doing two operations on my custom collection at the same time. Should I pass the dispatcher of my control in the view model and call any methods ( which updates any entity in my custom collection ) through UI dispatcher ?

  • Find a better control

    - by Budda
It is necessary to implement the following functionality: There is a rectangle "field", its size is 150x100 pixels. Field is split to locations, each location is 10x10 (totally 15x10 locations on the field). There are few "coins" (5, for example), each of them can be dropped into any location. The list of text messages should be displayed in the drop-down list if any coin is clicked (when any message is clicked, drop-down list should be hidden and coin should display the number of selected message from 0 to 9, for example). That should be done with Silverlight 4.0 I am going to implement custom control "Coin", it will have a view (with a circle), it will display some kind of popup-window (please advise, which one), focus will be set to this window. On "FocusLost" window will be closed (without changing message number), if any message from the list will be clicked then its number will be stored inside of coin. Question 1: is there any control that already has required functionality? Question 2: how to implement "drag-and-drop" of coins to the "field" (lets assume, they will be close to the field)? Any thought or ideas will be helpful. Thanks.

  • Wpf: Loading DataGrid in Groupbox causes Groupbox to be too tall

    - by Rick Make
I have a GroupBox that contains a stackpanel holding a textbox and a datagrid. When I use the textbox to populate the datagrid. Sometimes I need to load the datagrid with values. What I am noticing is that when the groupbox renders when the datagrid has values that the height of the groupbox is maxed out to the size of its parent container. And when I add a value via the textbox the groupbox snaps back to its proper height. Is there something that I am missing? When the datagrid renders it looks like all the text in the textcolumns render vertically and then snap into place. <StackPanel x:Name="LeftDock" Margin="0" VerticalAlignment="Top" MinHeight="480" Width="650" > <GroupBox x:Name="g_grpBx" Margin="8,8,0,0" Padding="0,10,0,0" MaxWidth="635" MinWidth="612" VerticalAlignment="Top"> <StackPanel x:Name="g_dp" VerticalAlignment="Top"> <local:TextboxControl x:Name="m_txbx" Margin="0" VerticalAlignment="Top" MinWidth="592"/> <local:GoalDataGrid x:Name="goalDataGrid" Height="Auto" MinHeight="25" MinWidth="592" Margin="0" Padding="0" VerticalAlignment="Top"/> </StackPanel> </GroupBox> </StackPanel>

  • Binding ListBox to List (Collection) in XAML

    - by david2tm
Hello, I'm learning WPF, so I'm kind of n00b in this. I saw some examples about how to do what I want to do, but nothing exactly... The question: I want to bind List to ListBox. I want to do it in XAML, w/o coding in code behind. How can I achieve that? Right now I do it that way: <!-- XAML --> <ListBox x:Name="FileList"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Label Content="{Binding Path=.}"/> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> // Code behind public MainWindow() { // ... files = new List<string>(); FileList.ItemsSource = files; } private void FolderBrowser_TextChanged(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { string folder = FolderBrowser.Text; files.Clear(); files.AddRange(Directory.GetFiles(folder, "*.txt", SearchOption.AllDirectories)); FileList.Items.Refresh(); } But I want to get rid of FileList.ItemsSource = files; and FileList.Items.Refresh(); in C# code. Thanks

  • VB.Net Validate an xml against a schema (strange problem)

    - by Apeksha
I have written a small XML validator, that takes in an XML file and an XML schema and validates the XML files against that schema. It works well, except for an XML file, with this content: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xc:program xmlns:xc="http:\\www.something.com\Schema\XC10" xc:version="4.0.22.0" > <xc:namespaceDecls> <xc:namespaceDecl xc:namespaceDeclURI="urn:swift:xsd:abc"> <xc:namespaceDeclPrefix>n</xc:namespaceDeclPrefix> </xc:namespaceDecl> </xc:namespaceDecls> </xc:program> I tried to validate this XML file against a bunch of different schemas. No matter which schema I select, this XML file comes out as valid. What is it that I am missing? Here is the relevant piece of code: 'Create a schema cache and add the given schema to it. Dim schemaCache As New Schema.XmlSchemaSet schemaCache.Add(targetNamespace, schemaFilename) 'Create an XML DOMDocument object. Dim xmlDom As New XmlDocument 'Assign the schema cache to the DOM document. 'schemas collection. xmlDom.Schemas = schemaCache 'Load selected file as the DOM document. xmlDom.Load(xmlFilename) xmlDom.Validate(AddressOf ValidationCallBack)

  • WPF WebBrowser: How to set element click event?

    - by Ralph
I've figured out how to make everything red as soon as the page is finished loading: private void webBrowser1_LoadCompleted(object sender, NavigationEventArgs e) { var doc = (IHTMLDocument2)webBrowser1.Document; foreach (IHTMLElement elem in doc.all) { elem.style.backgroundColor = "#ff0000"; } } Now what if I want to make the element only change color when it's clicked? I see that elem has an onclick property, but it's type is dynamic so I don't know what to do with it. The documentation is pretty useless.

  • WPF, animate over container boundaries

    - by ImIan
Hi, I'm learning WPF and have a specific goal. Imagine you have a grid (3 rows by 3 columns), and a control, say a simple blue rectangle fills the middle cell. When I click on the cell I want the square to rotate smoothly through 180 degrees. The specific issue I have at the moment is; as the rectangle rotates, it won't change its dimensions, so it will extend beyond the boundary of the cell. I don't want it to clip, i want it to appear on top, partially obscuring surrounding cells. The second part of this is, if there is one cell that fills the entire window, and I click on the blue rectangle in that cell, can I make the rectangle rotate and extend beyond the sides of the form? If that doesn't make sense, please ask. I'm finding it hard to google because I don't know the exact terms I should be using. Thank you

  • Can a custom WPF control implement the IsDefault property

    - by jpierson
I have a custom button control that does not derive from Button. Is it possible for me to implement the equivalent of IsDefault so that the command associated with my control will be invoked. I was hoping that this was an attached property that I could add to any control but as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be. Am I out of luck if my control does not derive from Button or is there at least a reasonable workaround?

  • Python - help on custom wx.Python (pyDev) class

    - by Wallter
I have been hitting a dead end with this program. I am trying to build a class that will let me control the BIP's of a button when it is in use. so far this is what i have (see following.) It keeps running this weird error TypeError: 'module' object is not callable - I, coming from C++ and C# (for some reason the #include... is so much easier) , have no idea what that means, Google is of no help so... I know I need some real help with sintax and such - anything woudl be helpful. • WPF - Only want one expander open at a time

    - by Portsmouth
    I have a UserControl with a templated grouped listbox with expanders and only want one expander open at any time. I have browsed through the site but haven't found anything except binding the IsExpanded to IsSelected which isn't quite what I want. I am trying to put some code in the Expanded event that would loop through Expanders and close all the ones that aren't the expander passed in the Expanded event. I can't seem to figure out how to get at them. I've tried ListBox.Items.Groups but didn't see how to get at them and tried ListBox.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem (or Index) but nothing came back. Thanks <ListBox Name="ListBox"> <ListBox.GroupStyle > <GroupStyle> <GroupStyle.ContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type GroupItem}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type GroupItem}"> <Border BorderBrush="CadetBlue" BorderThickness="1"> <Expander BorderThickness="0,0,0,1" Expanded="Expander_Expanded" Focusable="False" IsExpanded="{Binding IsSelected, RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType= {x:Type ListBoxItem}}}" > <Expander.Header> <Grid> <StackPanel Height="30" Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Foreground="Navy" FontWeight="Bold" Text="{Binding Path=Name}" Margin="5,0,0,0" MinWidth="200" Padding="3" VerticalAlignment="Center" /> <TextBlock Foreground="Navy" FontWeight="Bold" Text=" Setups: " VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Right"/> <TextBlock Foreground="Navy" FontWeight="Bold" Text="{Binding Path=ItemCount}" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Right" /> </StackPanel> </Grid> </Expander.Header> <Expander.Content> <Grid Background="white" > <ItemsPresenter /> </Grid> </Expander.Content> <Expander.Style > <Style TargetType="{x:Type Expander}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="true"> <Setter Property="Background"> <Setter.Value> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1"> <GradientStop Color="WhiteSmoke" Offset="0.0" /> <GradientStop Color="Orange" Offset="1.0" /> </LinearGradientBrush> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="false" <Setter Property="Background"> <Setter.Value> </code>

  • How can I handle events within my custom control?

    - by highone
I am not looking to create new events. I need to create a canvas control that optionally fades in or out depending on whether or not the mouse is over it. The code below probably explains what I want to do better than I can. private Storyboard fadeInStoryboard; private Storyboard fadeOutStoryboard; public FadingOptionPanel() { InitializeComponent(); } public static readonly DependencyProperty FadeEnabledProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("IsFadeEnabled", typeof(bool), typeof(FadingOptionPanel), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata(true, OnFadeEnabledPropertyChanged, OnCoerceFadeEnabledProperty)); public bool IsFadeEnabled { get { return (bool)GetValue(FadeEnabledProperty); } set { SetValue(FadeEnabledProperty, value); } } private static void OnFadeEnabledPropertyChanged(DependencyObject source, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs e) { } private static object OnCoerceFadeEnabledProperty(DependencyObject sender, object data) { if (data.GetType() != typeof(bool)) { data = true; } return data; } private void FadingOptionPanel_MouseEnter(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if (IsFadeEnabled) { fadeInStoryboard.Begin(this); } } private void FadingOptionPanel_MouseLeave(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if (IsFadeEnabled) { fadeOutStoryboard.Begin(this); } } private void FadingOptionsPanel_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { //Initialize Fade In Animation DoubleAnimation fadeInDoubleAnimation = new DoubleAnimation(); fadeInDoubleAnimation. From = 0; fadeInDoubleAnimation. To = 1; fadeInDoubleAnimation.Duration = new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(.5)); fadeInStoryboard = new Storyboard(); fadeInStoryboard.Children.Add(fadeInDoubleAnimation); Storyboard.SetTargetName(fadeInDoubleAnimation, this.Name); Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(fadeInDoubleAnimation, new PropertyPath(Canvas.OpacityProperty)); //Initialize Fade Out Animation DoubleAnimation fadeOutDoubleAnimation = new DoubleAnimation(); fadeOutDoubleAnimation. From = 1; fadeOutDoubleAnimation. To = 0; fadeOutDoubleAnimation.Duration = new Duration(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(.2)); fadeOutStoryboard = new Storyboard(); fadeOutStoryboard.Children.Add(fadeOutDoubleAnimation); Storyboard.SetTargetName(fadeOutDoubleAnimation, this.Name); Storyboard.SetTargetProperty(fadeOutDoubleAnimation, new PropertyPath(Canvas.OpacityProperty)); } I originally was using this code inside a usercontrol instead of a custom control before I found out that usercontrols don't support content.
