    I have just requested that Google Scholar collect the papers from my personal web site: http://cs.uic.edu/~asmirnov/publications.html I was wondering if I did everything right: I submitted a request on the form provided on scholar web site I published the papers in PDF on my web site Is there anything else needed for Google to index my web site? Other questions are: The first paper (that is linked) is not to just a paper, but a whole issue. Are there any tags to be added on my web site? If so, which, and how do I add them? What are the exporting options available on Google scholar web site and how do they work?

    Our site has subscription-only pages - non-subscribed visitors see a snippet preview. As per Google's FCF requirements, your first 5 hits to a subscriber-only pages with .google. as the referrer, you see the full page. In addition to this, should we whitelist search engine bots so that they can index the full content? I assume this is not required for Google, which can use FCF to index our content, but what about other search engines? Is this considered cloaking? My gut says that whitelisting bots past the paywall is bad practice., but I wanted to confirm - any evidence or references would be amazing.

They have rigid business requirements that it will be a unique domain... e.g. foowidgetsnews.net instead of foodwidgets.com/contact-form-page.php What is the most reliable method of building redirected url to a landing page so it will be tracked in google analytics as a direct hit from the newspaper? Finally, we would like to track the foowidgetsnews.net as the main url in google analytics because 301 redirect isn't tracked in google analytics like the way we would like it to.

    I work for a company that writes several webapps that deal with a lot of sensitive information, such as full name, date of birth, address, and SSNs. Currently we don't have anything to measure site usage, but I would like to use Google Analytics to track usage and statistics about our users. What data is sent to Google when you use Analytics? If I put this on a page that contains any of the above information, will that data be sent to Google? Or are they just getting the necessary information like user agent and IP address?

    This question already has an answer here: How did Google find my unlinked newly created pages? 3 answers I am working on a web project that has nearly 100 thousand instant users and there is a webpage that we are using for test cases. There are no links pointing to it from other pages. It shouldn't be indexed by Google or any other search engines. "noindex" can be used in this situation, I know but I wonder if Google (or any others) indexes this page, if I don't do anything to prevent it.

    Why would urls submitted in google webmaster tools drop to 0? It's a small site, only like 20 pages, I submitted the xml sitemap and for about a week it said 20 urls submitted. A day or so ago it indexed about 17 of the pages, but today when looking it not only says that 0 are indexed but also 0 have been submitted. I did a site search on google and found clearly that pages are indexed, is this just an error on google webmaster tools? Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

    I have a web page where people will be able to enter multiple destinations. When they state they want to enter a new destination, the current field values are stored in arrays. If they choose to go back to a previous destination, the relevant values are reinserted into the form fields. I am using the search field linked to autocomplete as the visible display of the destination. When I attempt to put a value into the linked search field, the value is presented as if it is a placeholder instead of a value. Enter the field and the value is removed by the onFocus() event of the Google Places autocomplete add-in.     Hello I want to change default post search order to order: sample cat 1 sample post from cat 1 sample post from cat 1 sample cat 2 sample post from cat 2 sample post from cat 3 sample cat 3 etc.. So... I want to define category order and in search results will be sorted for this order and in category order will be date DESC. Only posts (no categories) will be visible. Anybody have any idea?

And we have an agreement with the clients that all files on the cloud must be encrypted. However, the generated index files on dt search can be read as plain text. Any ideas?

    I found this command line search and replace example: find . -type f -print0 | xargs -0 sed -i 's/find/replace/g' It worked fine except it changed the date and file ownership on EVERY file it searched through, even those that did not contain the search text. I've set up a FULLTEXT Index and tried the next query SELECT * FROM Customer where CONTAINS(*,'*ann*') The query does return all the customers named Ann, but it doesn't return all the customers name Anne. Is there a way to create prefix search on SQL SERVER 2008 using FTS? Thanks.
