• Openfire and LDAP issues

  Thanks in advance for the help. Has anyone see this issue with openfire? Currently I use Openfire Fedora with Auth using windows 2003 and also use mysql for the database. When I bring up two clients and talk to each other the time is slow between messages. Sometimes it can take between 5-15 minutes for something sent to get to the person (this is with only two people on the openfire server). I ran a tcp dump using port 389 and see that the machine is running thousands of queries against ldap. When i plug it into wireshark I notice that it is transferring the entire contact list or checking on the status of the entire contact list ? I tweaked the settings as recommend by the pages and still get the same issues. I doesnt seem to cache the contact list or this might be a feature never fixed or implemented. Has anyone gone through this before ? I have searched online and I see others have great experience with openfire with no issues like I have, or is it because noone checked the queries ? For the time being I created a new Domain Controller and moved openfire to that computer so it can run local queries. This seems to help reduce the speed alot, but when I run the server performance manager tool I see that with two people only using that openfire server I run 593.7 request per second.   I have a populated gridview that consist of template fields. I would like to find/check a certain number of cells using values of rows and columns. • How to fill an HTML form with CSS ?

Since I want user to fill everything in my form, none of the radio buttons and check boxes are checked and the text fields are empty. I would like to write a CSS file that will fill the form with answers (I don't want to change my HTML file). Is this possible ? I would appreciate an example or any other idea ? Thanks !

  I'm using Django with google app engine. I'm using the google furnished django app engine helper project. I'm attempting to create a Django modelformset like this: #MyModel inherits from BaseModel MyFormSet = modelformset_factory(models.MyModel) However, it's failing with this error: 'ModelOptions' object has no attribute 'fields' Apparently modelformset_factory() is expecting MyModel to implement a 'fields' accessor. Anybody successfully used a modelformset with GAE datastore? Or is this a fundamental incompatibility between Django and GAE?

• Ruby: Is there a way to split a string only with the first x occurrencies?

  For example, suppose I have this: 001, "john doe", "male", 37, "programmer", "likes dogs, women, and is lazy" The problem is that the line is only supposed to have 6 fields. But if I separate it with split I get more, due to the comma being used improperly to separate the fields. Right now I'm splitting everything, then when I get to the 5-th index onward I concatenate all the strings. But I was wondering if there was a split(",",6) or something along these lines.

  I have scripted my SQL server 2000 database and created it on a 2008 server. I update the database using a ADO .Net Dataset designed in VS 2003. My problem is certain tables that have identity fields don't have these fields as auto increment in the dataset? I could set these to auto increment in code, but this seams like a work around. Has anyone encountered this problem?

• Difficulty adding widgets to django form.

  I have a django app that tracks activities that can benefit a classroom. Using the django examples, I was able to build a form to enter this data. But when I try to add widgets to that form, things get tricky. What I want is a calendar widget that lets the user enter the 'activity_date' field using a widget. If I use Admin interface. The AdminDateWidget works fine. however. This particular user isn't allowed access to the admin interface so I need a different way to present this widget. Also I couldn't figure out how to make the bring the admin widget over into non-admin pages. So I tried a custom widget. This is the first custom widget I've built, so I'm not quite sure what is supposed to be going on here. Any Expert Advice? • Selecting all but one field?

  instead of SELECT * FROM mytable, i would like to select all fields EXCEPT one (namely, the 'serialized' field, which stores a serialized object). this is because i think that losing that field will speed up my query by a lot. however, i have so many fields and am quite the lazy guy. is there a way to say... `SELECT ALL_ROWS_EXCEPT(serialized) FROM mytable` ? thanks!

• Generating custom-form documents from base-form plus XML?

  Hi all, this is my first stack overflow, and it's a complex one. Sorry. My task is to generate custom documents from a basic template plus some XML without having a custom form design element for each case. Here's the whole picture: We are building a Lotus Notes (client, not web) application for world-wide application access control; the scope is something like 400.000 users being able to request access to any of 1000+ applications. Each application needs its own request form -- different number of approvers, various info required, that sort of thing. We simply can't have a thousand forms in a database (one per application), and anyway their maintenance really needs to be pushed from the developers to the application owners. So instead of custom forms, we'd like to create a generic "template" form that stores a block of basic fields, but then allows application owners to define another block of fields dynamically -- "I want a mandatory plain-text field named 'Name' here, and then a date field named 'Due' here that must be later than today's date, and then ...". I hope this makes sense (if not, think of it as a generic questionnaire application). I pretty much have the structure in place for designing the dynamic fields (form builder GUI - XML-encoded data - pre-rendered DXL for injecting into a form), including mark-up for field types, value options, and rudimentary field validation instructions. My problem is generating a document with this dynamic content injected at the proper location (without needing a custom form design element for each case). Doing the dynamic content via HTML is out. The Notes client web rendering is simply way too poor, and it would be quite a challenge to implement things like field validation instructions, date selectors, and name look-ups. DXL, on the other hand, would allow us to use native Notes fields and code. As a tech demo, I've managed to implement a custom form generator that injects the pre-rendered DXL for the dynamic content into a base form; but as I said, we don't want a ton of custom form design elements. I've tried to implement a way to create a document with the "store form in document" flag set, but once I've created the document from the base form, I can't get DXL access to the stored form design, and so I can't inject my dynamic content. I know this is not something Notes was ever intended to do. Has anyone ever tried something like it (and gotten away with it)? Thanks for reading this far. • Continuous Form, how to add/update records with external connection

  EDIT After some more research I found that I cannot use a continuous form with an unbound form since it can only reference a single record at a time. Given that I've altered my question... I have a sample form that pulls out data to enter into a table as an intermediary. Initially the form is unbound and I open connections to two main recordsets. I set the listbox's recordset equal to one of them and the forms recordset equal to the other. The problem is that I cannot add records or update existing ones. Attempting to key into the fields does nothing almost as if the field was locked (Which it is not). Settings of the recordsets are OpenKeyset and LockPessimistic. Tables are not linked, they come from an outside access database seperate from this project and must remain that way. I am using an adodb connection to get the data. Could the separation of the data from the project be causing this? • what does it mean for MalwareBytes to find malicious registry keys but nothing else?

  I have a machine that is obviously infected, and when I ran MalwareBytes it told me that it found some "malicious" registry keys (surprisingly enough these contained file path to currently non-existent javascript files). But, that's it. Full scan did not uncover any malicious files, or malicious hidden processes in memory. Like, maybe the (hidden?) process that for whatever reason periodically injects keystrokes (hotkeys?) into whatever currently open window. Then on another, not obviously infected, machine it found a "malware.trace" registry key but again no files or processes etc. How does this jive with people's experience with MalwareBytes? Does it usually find registry key symptoms of an infection but nothing else? Or is it a common thing to have no infection but some malicious registry keys in place anyway?
