    All the examples of accessing google's CDN use https:// in the URL (including on Google itself) - but this has caused a problem when testing in Safari (certificate problem and also different domain). <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> I have switched to calling it over http instead, but just wondering if this is a mistake or security issue?

    Note: I always forget this stuff, so I'm putting it my blog to help me remember it.Calling a JSON REST based service with some params isn't that hard.  I have an endpoint that has this interface:        [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "/Login",             Method="POST",             BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Wrapped,            RequestFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json,            ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json )]        [OperationContract]        bool Login(LoginData ld); The LoginData class is defined like this:    [DataContract]    public class LoginData    {        [DataMember]        public string UserName { get; set; }        [DataMember]        public string PassWord { get; set; }        [DataMember]        public string AppKey { get; set; }    } Now that you see my method to call to login as well as the class that is passed for the login, the body of the login request looks like this:{ "ld" : {  "UserName":"testuser", "PassWord":"ackkkk", "AppKey":"blah" } } The header (in Fiddler), looks like this:User-Agent: FiddlerHost: hostnameContent-Length: 76Content-Type: application/json And finally, my url to POST against is:http://www.something.com/...../someservice.svc/LoginAnd there you have it, calling a WCF JSON Endpoint thru REST (and HTTP POST)

    For the Java EE track at JavaOne 2014 we are highlighting some key sessions and speakers to better inform you of what you can expect, right up until the start of the conference. To this end we recently interviewed Ed Burns. Ed is a veteran of Sun and now Oracle. He has been and is instrumental in pushing the JSF ecosystem forward as specification lead. Besides his specification lead work Ed is well regarded as an author and speaker on his own right. In addition to carrying the JSF torch Ed will be co-leading the key Servlet 4 specification for Java EE 8, along with Servlet specification guru Shing Wai Chan. The primary goal of Servlet 4 is to enable the fundamentally important changes in HTTP 2 for the entire server-side Java ecosystem.   • Naming methods that perform HTTP GET/POST calls?

    In the application I am currently working on, there are generally 3 types of HTTP calls: pure GETs pure POSTs (updating the model with new data) "GET" POSTs (posting down an object to get some data back, no updates to the model) In the integration service, generally we name methods that post "postSomething()", and methods that get, "getSomething()". So my question is, if we have a "GET" POST, should the method be called: getSomething - seeing as the purpose is to obtain data postSomething - since we are technically using POST performSomeAction - arbitrary name that's more relevant to the action What are everyone's thoughts?

    This is the first time I've set up squid. It's running a redirect script that does some text search/replace on html pages, and then saves them to a location on the same machine on the nginx path - then issues the redirect to that URL (it's an art project :D). The relevant lines in squid.conf are http_port 3128 transparent redirect_program /etc/squid/jefferson_redirect.py The jefferson_redirect.py script is based on this script: http://gofedora.com/how-to-write-custom-redirector-rewritor-plugin-squid-python/ The issue: I'm getting strange http redirect behavior. The only thing I have found that will correct this issue is changing proxy_redirect to the following: proxy_redirect http:// https://; That works wonderfully for requests coming from HTTPS, but if a redirect is issued over HTTP it also redirects that to HTTPS, which is a problem. Out of desperation, I tried: if ($scheme = 'https') { proxy_redirect http:// https://; } But nginx complains that proxy_redirect isn't allowed here. The only other option I can think of is to define the two servers separately and set proxy_redirect only on the SSL one, but then I would have duplicate the rest of the conf (there's a lot in the server directive that I omitted for simplicity sake). I know I could also use an include directive to factor out the redundancy, but I really want to keep just one conf file without any dependencies. So, first, is there something I'm missing that will negate the problem entirely? Or, second, if not, is there any other way (besides including an external file) to factor out the redundant config information so that I can separate out the HTTP and HTTPS versions of the server config?

    Following ruslany's suggestion on the URL Rewrite Tips page here, I'm trying to use URL Rewrite to redirect http:// requests for my site to https://. I've written and tested the rule using a test site I set up, and so now the final piece is to create a second site (http) to redirect to my https site. (I need to use a second site because I don't want to uncheck the "Require SSL encryption" checkbox on my existing site.) I'm an IIS newbie so my question is: how do I do this? Should I create a site with the same name and host header, only it will be bound to http? Will IIS let me create a site with the same name? I don't want to screw anything up with my existing site (which is a SharePoint site, currently used by external users). That site currently has http and https bound to it. So my assumption is that, using ISS (not SharePoint), I will create a new site (http only) with the same name and host header as my existing site, and add the URL Rewrite rule to the http site. And then I guess I should remove the http binding from my existing site? Does that seem correct? Any advice, gotchas, etc., would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Computer freezes after watching Youtube videos

    I had Windows 7 installed all september. But I installed Windows XP Professional back because my computer couldn't handle the new OS. After first boot I tried to install newest flash player (from Adobe website), but it failed. I had my old setup on USB drive and it worked. I don't know is it important or not. I am watching Youtube videos in my free time (almost every hour). After few days the computer started to freeze when I open a page with the video or close the page with video, not while I watch a video. No BSODs. Nothing in Event viewer. I use Firefox only. When computer freezes the sound wont. If iTunes is playing a radio station or is it another video playing in background, the sound wont freeze. Last few days the mouse wont freeze. Its a strange symptom. If I click few times then the cursor will actually freeze. I just want to know where does this problem come from (hardware - graphics card, old motherboard or it's just some glitch in setups). If it's not graphics card then I will be happy. The graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 4650 - brand new. Catalyst 11.8 installed. Things I have tried: Installed newest flash player after a week (the setup didn't fail this time) Installed latest video drivers Deleting cookies Defragmenting hard drive Using TuneUp utilities for computer cleenup Installed latest Mozilla Firefox Cleaned the PC Changed CPU Fan speed almost to max (just to be sure) Things I haven't tried yet: Didn't try playing videos on other browsers What can I do now?

I would prefer NON-com.sun.* as per java conventions, but still my dependencies ( e.g. Spring ) are using implementations from com.sun.* OR I can't find an implementation package in javax.xml Does anyone have any experience on this?

  • Refreshing Visual Studio's COM references tab

    I right-clicked on the bin folder of my web app to add a COM Reference. I did not find the desired Com reference in the list. I went back to the Command Line to register by desired Com dll using resvr32. However, the COM references tab does not shows it (looks like the information is cached somewhere). Even restarting VS did not help. Is their any easy way to refresh the COM references tab without rebooting the machine itself??
