  • Calculate broadcast address given IP address and subnet in PowerShell

    My goal is to calculate the broadcast address when given the IP and subnet mask of a host node. I know, sounds like homework. Once I reasoned through my task and boiled it down to this, I was amused with myself. Anyway, the solution will look something like the one in this question I suppose, but I'm not a math major and my C sucks. I could do with a PowerShell (preferred) or C# example to get me going. thanks!

    I need help with this batch file I'm working on, Basically everytime it does a task it should plus the variable %number% by one which works fine and all and then repeat over again doing a different task until its completed. This is the code which it uses to repeat I need a way of settings basically: set svn=%svn%%number% set svnlink=%svnlink%%number% set svnfolder=%svnfolder%%number% Instead I am using: if %number%==1 ( set svn=%svn1% set svnlink=%svnlink1% set svnfolder=%svnfolder1%) if %number%==2 ( set svn=%svn2% set svnlink=%svnlink2% set svnfolder=%svnfolder2%) if %number%==3 ( set svn=%svn3% set svnlink=%svnlink3% set svnfolder=%svnfolder3%) Which i really need to shorten as this goes up to number 20+ Is this possible?   • Help Window using StatET in Eclipse

    Hi All, I have been getting into R recently and have been using the StatET plugin for Eclipse. When I search for help, it prints the 'contents' of the help to the console. I am hoping to have the help open up in a new window, similar to what happens when in R itself. I am hoping this is just a setting. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Brock

EDIT: setting verbosity to level 12, I can see that the BufDelete event is indeed occurring. We have tought of using a table with ip and old session id or a query string with the old session id in order to reassing it in the uploaded event...   • Need a helpful/managed VPS to help transition from shared hosting

    I am looking for a VPS that can help me transition out of a shared hosting environment. My main OS is Ubuntu, although I am still new to the linux world. I spend most of my day programming PHP applications using a git over SSH workflow. I want PHP, SSH, git, MySQL/PostgreSQL and Apache to work well. Someday after I figure out server management I'll move on to http://nginx.org/ or something. I don't really understand 1) linux firewalls, 2) mail servers, or 3) proper daily package/lib update flow. I need a host that can help with these so I don't get hit with a security hole. (I monitor apache access logs so I think I can take it from there.) I want to know if there is a sub $50/m VPS that can help me learn (or do for me) these three main things I need to run a server. I can't leave my shared hosts (plural shows my need!) until I am sure my sites will be safe despite my incompetence. To clarify again, I need the most helpful, supportive, walk-me-through, check-up-on-me, be-there-when-I-need you VPS I can get. Learning isn't a problem when there is someone to turn too. ;)

    Hi there I made the mistake of using == for comparing IP addresses instead of using the equals() method of the IPAddress class in C#, which will result in the comparison of references instead of values. Since the solution I am currently working on is very large for a one-man project ( 100.000 lines of source code), I am very sure that I still have some of these wrong statements in my code. Is there any possibility to tell Visual Studio to find all occurrences of == operations on a specific class for me, so that I can find and clean up the bugged comparisons? with best regards, emi

Therefore I only want my app to be able to access it. Can I just list a series of IP addresses for my app and allow them? Is there a better way to stop requests from anyone else to my API?

What is supposed to happen here? Does it have to do with the fact that I'm behind a wireless router on a dynamic IP address (although I can access localhost no problem so...)? As you can see I'm on windows (Vista)
