  • Entity Framework query

    - by carter-boater
Hi all, I have a piece of code that I don't know how to improve it. I have two entities: EntityP and EntityC. EntityP is the parent of EntityC. It is 1 to many relationship. EntityP has a property depending on a property of all its attached EntityC. I need to load a list of EntityP with the property set correctly. So I wrote a piece of code to get the EntityP List first. It's called entityP_List. Then as I wrote below, I loop through the entityP_List and for each of them, I query the database with a "any" function which will eventually be translated to "NOT EXIST" sql query. The reason I use this is that I don't want to load all the attached entityC from database to memory, because I only need the aggregation value of their property. But the problem here is, the looping will query the databae many times, for each EntityP! So I am wondering if anybody can help me improve the code to query the database only once to get all the EntityP.IsAll_C_Complete set, without load EntityC to memory. foreach(EntityP p in entityP_List) { isAnyNotComoplete = entities.entityC.Any(c => c.IsComplete==false && c.parent.ID == p.ID); p.IsAll_C_Complete = !isAnyNotComoplete; } Thank you very much!

Now, all I can find is some mysql workbench which is only useful for designing data... Both programs I'm talking about allowed you to manage servers, create database, create tables, index, perform querys, edit data, etc... unfortunately I don't even recall there names... Any idea where I can find them? thanks a lot

  • A jscript variable in a Query

    - by lerac
    Maybe a very simple question. How can I put in this code <Query> <Where> <Eq> <FieldRef Name="Judge_x0020_1" /> <Value Type="Text">mr. R. Sanches</Value> </Eq> </Where> </script> </Query> A variable from jscript in the area of the code where mr. R. Sanches is written. So my jScript contains a dynamic text variable I want to replace mr. R. Sanches with. See where it says THE JAVESCRIPT VAR underneath here: <Query> <Where> <Eq> <FieldRef Name="Judge_x0020_1" /> <Value Type="Text">THE JAVASCRIPT VAR</Value> </Eq> </Where> </script> </Query>

  • Tuning MySQL to take advantage of a 4GB VPS

    - by alistair.mp
Hello, We're running a large site at the moment which has a dedicated VPS for it's database server which is running MySQL and nothing else. At the moment all four CPU cores are running at close to 100% all of the time but the memory usage sticks at around 268MB out of an available 4096MB. I'm wondering what we can do to better utilise the memory and reduce the CPU load by tweaking MySQL's settings? Here is what we currently have in my.cnf: http://pastie.org/private/hxeji9o8n3u9up9mvtinbq Thanks

  • Mysqli query only works on localhost, not webserver

    - by whamo
Hello. I have changed some of my old queries to the Mysqli framework to improve performance. Everything works fine on localhost but when i upload it to the webserver it outputs nothing. After connecting I check for errors and there are none. I also checked the php modules installed and mysqli is enabled. I am certain that it creates a connection to the database as no errors are displayed. (when i changed the database name string it gave the error) There is no output from the query on the webserver, which looks like this: $mysqli = new mysqli("server", "user", "password"); if (mysqli_connect_errno()) { printf("Can't connect Errorcode: %s\n", mysqli_connect_error()); exit; } // Query used $query = "SELECT name FROM users WHERE id = ?"; if ($stmt = $mysqli->prepare("$query")) { // Specify parameters to replace '?' $stmt->bind_param("d", $id); $stmt->execute(); // bind variables to prepared statement $stmt->bind_result($_userName); while ($stmt->fetch()) { echo $_userName; } $stmt-close(); } } //close connection $mysqli-close(); As I said this code works perfectly on my localserver just not online. Checked the error logs and there is nothing so everything points to a good connection. All the tables exists as well etc. Anyone any ideas because this one has me stuck! Also, if i get this working, will all my other queries still work? Or will i need to make them use the mysqli framework as well? Thanks in advance.

  • Is there any performance difference between Debug and Release?

    - by Lazlo
I'm using MySql Connector .NET to load an account and transfer it to the client. This operation is rather intensive, considering the child elements of the account to load. In Debug mode, it takes, at most, 1 second to load the account. The average would be 500ms. In Release mode, it takes from 1 to 4 seconds to load the account. The average would be 1500ms. Since there is no #if DEBUG directive or the like in my code, I'm wondering where the difference is coming from. Is there a project build option I could change? Or does it have to do with MySql Connector .NET that would have different behaviors depending on the build mode?

  • Upgrading mysql from 4.1.22 to 5.0

    - by Arsenal
Hi, I'm trying to upgrade our company's 4.1.22 version of MySQL to 5. I'm using sudo yum --enablerepo=centosplus upgrade mysql* but keep getting an error of conflicted files with the 4.1 version. Does that mean there really isn't any other way than uninstalling 4.1 and installing 5.0? I have read that using the yum upgrade command should work however... Thanks in advance!

  • MySQL InnoDB insertion is very slow

    - by dharmapurikar
We use MySQL server 5.1.43 64-bit edition. InnoDB is used as engine. We have a sql script which we execute every time we build the application. On ubuntu machine with MySQL server and InnoDB engine it takes about 55 seconds to complete the execution. If I run the same script on OSX, it takes close to 3 minutes! Any ideas why OSX is so slow while executing this script?

  • MySQL index building performance

    - by Christian
I tried to build an index over a two columns of a 30,000,000 entry database. I canceled the process after ~60hr as it didn't seem to work. For some reason MySQL takes only 22 mb ram instead of using the RAM fully. Is index building an operation that needs no Ram or is there some way to tell MySQL to use more RAM to be faster?

  • Partitioning mySQL tables that has foreign keys?

    - by Industrial
Hi! What would be an appropriate way to do this, since mySQL obviously doesnt enjoy this. To leave either partitioning or the foreign keys out from the database design would not seem like a good idea to me. I'll guess that there is a workaround for this? Update 03/24: http://opendba.blogspot.com/2008/10/mysql-partitioned-tables-with-trigger.html http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1537219/how-to-handle-foreign-key-while-partitioning Thanks!
