  • Updating records with their subordinates via CTE or subquery

    - by Mike Jolley
Let's say I have a table with the following columns: Employees Table employeeID int employeeName varchar(50) managerID int totalOrganization int managerID is referential to employeeID. totalOrganization is currently 0 for all records. I'd like to update totalOrganization on each row to the total number of employees under them. So with the following records: employeeID employeeName managerID totalOrganization 1 John Cruz NULL 0 2 Mark Russell 1 0 3 Alice Johnson 1 0 4 Juan Valdez 3 0 The query should update the totalOrganizations to: employeeID employeeName managerID totalOrganization 1 John Cruz NULL 3 2 Mark Russell 1 0 3 Alice Johnson 1 1 4 Juan Valdez 3 0 I know I can get somewhat of an org. chart using the following CTE: WITH OrgChart (employeeID, employeeName, managerID,level) AS ( SELECT employeeID,employeeName,0 as managerID,0 AS Level FROM Employees WHERE managerID IS NULL UNION ALL SELECT Employees.employeeID,Employees.employeeName,Employees.managerID,Level + 1 FROM Employees INNER JOIN OrgChart ON Employees.managerID = OrgChart.employeeID ) SELECT employeeID,employeeName, managerID, level FROM OrgChart; Is there any way to update the Employees table using a stored procedure rather than building some routine outside of SQL to parse through the data?

  • Consuming an .ics in YQL

    - by Josh
How would one consume an ICS file in YQL? Given an .ics such as: http://www.hebcal.com/export/ba/8a35a5efbb27548bc0272b94b8de96.ics?subscribe=1&v=1&year=2010&month=x&nh=on&tag=fp.ql&c=off How would I go about using YQL to select certain events based on fields, etc. I've tried the standard formats, and the only format that seems to even parse the file is HTML - which puts it all in a <p>, and removes the line returns that give the file meaning. I've had some success with using Yahoo Pipe's Fetch Feed Source, but was wondering if it's possible to do this entirely in YQL. Any ideas?

  • Parsing C#, finding methods and putting try/catch to all methods

    - by erdogany
I know it sounds weird but I am required to put a wrapping try catch block to every method to catch all exceptions. We have thousands of methods and I need to do it in an automated way. What do you suggest? I am planning to parse all cs files and detect methods and insert a try catch block with an application. Can you suggest me any parser that I can easily use? or anything that will help me... every method has its unique number like 5006 public static LogEntry Authenticate(....) { LogEntry logEntry = null; try { .... return logEntry; } catch (CompanyException) { throw; } catch (Exception ex) { logEntry = new LogEntry( "5006", RC.GetString("5006"), EventLogEntryType.Error, LogEntryCategory.Foo); throw new CompanyException(logEntry, ex); } } I created this for this; http://thinkoutofthenet.com/index.php/2009/01/12/batch-code-method-manipulation/

  • [SOLVED] Iphone NSXMLParser NSCFString memory leak

    - by atticusalien
I am building an app that parses an rss feed. In the app there are two different types of feeds with different names for the elements in the feed, so I have created an NSXMLParser NSObject that takes the name of the elements of each feed before parsing. Here is my code: NewsFeedParser.h #import @interface NewsFeedParser : NSObject { NSInteger NewsSelectedCategory; NSXMLParser *NSXMLNewsParser; NSMutableArray *newsCategories; NSMutableDictionary *NewsItem; NSMutableString *NewsCurrentElement, *NewsCurrentElement1, *NewsCurrentElement2, *NewsCurrentElement3; NSString *NewsItemType, *NewsElement1, *NewsElement2, *NewsElement3; NSInteger NewsNumElements; } - (void) parseXMLFileAtURL:(NSString *)URL; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsItemType; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsElement1; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsElement2; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *NewsElement3; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *newsCategories; @property(assign, nonatomic) NSInteger NewsNumElements; @end NewsFeedParser.m #import "NewsFeedParser.h" @implementation NewsFeedParser @synthesize NewsItemType; @synthesize NewsElement1; @synthesize NewsElement2; @synthesize NewsElement3; @synthesize newsCategories; @synthesize NewsNumElements; - (void)parserDidStartDocument:(NSXMLParser *)parser{ } - (void)parseXMLFileAtURL:(NSString *)URL { newsCategories = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; URL = [URL stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@""]; URL = [URL stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"\n" withString:@""]; URL = [URL stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@""]; //you must then convert the path to a proper NSURL or it won't work NSURL *xmlURL = [NSURL URLWithString:URL]; // here, for some reason you have to use NSClassFromString when trying to alloc NSXMLParser, otherwise you will get an object not found error // this may be necessary only for the toolchain [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] setMemoryCapacity:0]; [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] setDiskCapacity:0]; NSXMLNewsParser = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:xmlURL]; // Set self as the delegate of the parser so that it will receive the parser delegate methods callbacks. [NSXMLNewsParser setDelegate:self]; // Depending on the XML document you're parsing, you may want to enable these features of NSXMLParser. [NSXMLNewsParser setShouldProcessNamespaces:NO]; [NSXMLNewsParser setShouldReportNamespacePrefixes:NO]; [NSXMLNewsParser setShouldResolveExternalEntities:NO]; [NSXMLNewsParser parse]; [NSXMLNewsParser release]; } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser parseErrorOccurred:(NSError *)parseError { NSString * errorString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Unable to download story feed from web site (Error code %i )", [parseError code]]; NSLog(@"error parsing XML: %@", errorString); UIAlertView * errorAlert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"Error loading content" message:errorString delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [errorAlert show]; [errorAlert release]; [errorString release]; } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser didStartElement:(NSString *)elementName namespaceURI:(NSString *)namespaceURI qualifiedName:(NSString *)qName attributes:(NSDictionary *)attributeDict{ NewsCurrentElement = [elementName copy]; if ([elementName isEqualToString:NewsItemType]) { // clear out our story item caches... NewsItem = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; NewsCurrentElement1 = [[NSMutableString alloc] init]; NewsCurrentElement2 = [[NSMutableString alloc] init]; if(NewsNumElements == 3) { NewsCurrentElement3 = [[NSMutableString alloc] init]; } } } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser didEndElement:(NSString *)elementName namespaceURI:(NSString *)namespaceURI qualifiedName:(NSString *)qName{ if ([elementName isEqualToString:NewsItemType]) { // save values to an item, then store that item into the array... [NewsItem setObject:NewsCurrentElement1 forKey:NewsElement1]; [NewsItem setObject:NewsCurrentElement2 forKey:NewsElement2]; if(NewsNumElements == 3) { [NewsItem setObject:NewsCurrentElement3 forKey:NewsElement3]; } [newsCategories addObject:[[NewsItem copy] autorelease]]; [NewsCurrentElement release]; [NewsCurrentElement1 release]; [NewsCurrentElement2 release]; if(NewsNumElements == 3) { [NewsCurrentElement3 release]; } [NewsItem release]; } } - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser foundCharacters:(NSString *)string { //NSLog(@"found characters: %@", string); // save the characters for the current item... if ([NewsCurrentElement isEqualToString:NewsElement1]) { [NewsCurrentElement1 appendString:string]; } else if ([NewsCurrentElement isEqualToString:NewsElement2]) { [NewsCurrentElement2 appendString:string]; } else if (NewsNumElements == 3 && [NewsCurrentElement isEqualToString:NewsElement3]) { [NewsCurrentElement3 appendString:string]; } } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; [newsCategories release]; [NewsItemType release]; [NewsElement1 release]; [NewsElement2 release]; [NewsElement3 release]; } When I create an instance of the class I do like so: NewsFeedParser *categoriesParser = [[NewsFeedParser alloc] init]; if(newsCat == 0) { categoriesParser.NewsItemType = @"article"; categoriesParser.NewsElement1 = @"category"; categoriesParser.NewsElement2 = @"catid"; } else { categoriesParser.NewsItemType = @"article"; categoriesParser.NewsElement1 = @"category"; categoriesParser.NewsElement2 = @"feedUrl"; } [categoriesParser parseXMLFileAtURL:feedUrl]; newsCategories = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray:categoriesParser.newsCategories copyItems:YES]; [self.tableView reloadData]; [categoriesParser release]; If I run the app with the leaks instrument, the leaks point to the [NSXMLNewsParser parse] call in the NewsFeedParser.m. Here is a screen shot of the Leaks instrument with the NSCFStrings leaking: http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/3997/leaks.png For the life of me I can't figure out where these leaks are coming from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Permission denial to read from emailprovider in android

    - by Ambika
Hello Everyone, I've the problem when I want to read "com.android.email.provider" to get email accounts. Here is my code to retrieve the account : Cursor c = null; Uri CONTENT_URI = Uri.parse("content://com.android.email.provider/account"); String RECORD_ID = "_id"; String[] ID_PROJECTION = new String[] {RECORD_ID }; c = getContentResolver().query(CONTENT_URI,ID_PROJECTION,null, null, null); I get a security exception: java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial: reading com.android.email.provider.EmailProvider uri content://com.android.email.provider/account from pid=278, uid=10003 requires com.android.email.permission.ACCESS_PROVIDER I want to know the account is created or not in some other app. Is there any other way to resolve this so that I can read from the provider. I have also tried by adding the permission in manifest: That dint not help. Any solution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

  • Get seconds since epoch in any POSIX compliant shell

    - by mattbh
I'd like to know if there's a way to get the number of seconds since the UNIX epoch in any POSIX compliant shell, without resorting to non-POSIX languages like perl, or using non-POSIX extensions like GNU awk's strftime function. Here are some solutions I've already ruled out... date +%s // Doesn't work on Solaris I've seen some shell scripts suggested before, which parse the output of date then derive seconds from the formatted gregorian calendar date, but they don't seem to take details like leap seconds into account. GNU awk has the strftime function, but this isn't available in standard awk. I could write a small C program which calls the time function, but the binary would be specific to a particular architecture. Is there a cross platform way to do this using only POSIX compliant tools? I'm tempted to give up and accept a dependency on perl, which is at least widely deployed. perl -e 'print time' // Cheating (non-POSIX), but should work on most platforms

  • Best practices for fixed-width processing in .NET

    - by jmgant
I'm working a .NET web service that will be processing a text file with a relatively long, multilevel record format. Each record in the file represents a different entity; the record contains multiple sub-types. (The same record format is currently being processed by a COBOL job, if that gives you a better picture of what we're looking at). I've created a class structure (a DATA DIVISION if you will) to hold the input data. My question is, what best practices have you found for processing large, complex fixed-width files in .NET? My general approach will be to read the entire line into a string and then parse the data from the string into the classes I've created. But I'm not sure whether I'll get better results working with the characters in the string as an array, or with the string itself. I guess that's the specific question, string vs. char[], but I would appreciate any other pointers anyone has. Thanks.

  • What's the best way to explain parsing to a new programmer?

    - by Daisetsu
I am a college student getting my Computer Science degree. A lot of my fellow students really haven't done a lot of programming. They've done their class assignments, but let's be honest here those questions don't really teach you how to program. I have had several other students ask me questions about how to parse things, and I'm never quite sure how to explain it to them. Is it best to start just going line by line looking for substrings, or just give them the more complicated lecture about using proper lexical analysis, etc. to create tokens, use BNF, and all of that other stuff? They never quite understand it when I try to explain it. What's the best approach to explain this without confusing them or discouraging them from actually trying.

  • How would you pass objects with MVC and jQuery AJAX?

    - by Ken
I am finally experimenting and trying to learn MVC after years of asp.net. I am used to using asp.net AJAX PageMethods where you can pass an object that automagically gets parsed to whatever type the parameter is in that method. Javascript: PageMethods.AddPerson({First:"John",Last:"Doe"}); Code-Behind: [WebMethod] public static Result AddPerson(Person objPerson) { return Person.Save(); } How would do this using MVC and jQuery? Did just have to send strings and parse the json to object?

  • Design pattern for parsing data that will be grouped to two different ways and flipped

    - by lewisblackfan
I'm looking for an easily maintainable and extendable design model for a script to parse an excel workbook into two separate workbooks after pulling data from other locations like the command line, and a database. The high level details are as follows. I need to parse an excel workbook containing a sheet that lists unique question names, the only reliable information that can be parsed from the question name is the book code that identifies the title and edition of the textbook the question is associated with, the rest of the question name is not standardized well enough to be reliably parsed by computer. The general form of the question name is best described by the following regular expression. '^(\w+)\s(\w{1,2})\.(\w{1,2})\.(\w{1,3})\.(\w{1,3}\.)*$' The first sub-pattern is the book code, the second sub-pattern is 90% of the time the chapter, and the rest of the sub-patterns could be section, problem type, problem number, or question type information. There is no simple logic, at least not one I can find. There will be a minimum of three other columns in this spreadsheet; one column will be the chapter the question is associated with, the second will be the section within the chapter the question is associated with, and the third will be some kind of asset indicated by a uniform resource locator. 1 | 1 | qname1 | url | description | url | description ... 1 | 1 | qname2 | url | description 1 | 1 | qname3 | url | description | url | description | url | The asset can be indicated by a full or partial uniform resource locator, the partial url will need to be completed before it can be fed into the application. There theoretically could be no limit to the number of asset columns, the assets will be grouped in columns by type. Some times additional data will have to be retrieved from a database or combined with the book code before the asset url is complete and can be understood by the application that will be using the asset. The type is an abstraction, there are eight types right now, each with their own logic in how the uniform resource locator is handled and or completed, and I have to add a new type and its logic every three or four months. For each asset url there is the possibility of a description column, a character string for display in the application, but not always. (I've already worked out validating the description text, and squashing MSs obscure code page down to something 7-bit ascii can handle.) Now that all the details are filled-in I can get to the actual problem of parsing the file. I need to split the information in this excel workbook into two separate workbooks. The first workbook will group all the questions by section in rows. With the first cell being the section doublet and the rest of the cells in the row are the question names. 1.1 | qname1 | qname2 | qname3 | qname4 | 1.2 | qname1 | qname2 | qname3 | 1.3 | qname1 | qname2 | qname3 | qname4 | qname5 There is no set number of questions for each section as you can see from the above example. The second workbook is more complicated, there is one row per asset, and question names that have more than one asset will be duplicated. There will be four or five columns on this sheet. The first is the question name for the asset, the second is a media type used to select the correct icon for the asset in the application, the third is string representing the asset type, the four is the full and complete uniform resource locator for the asset, and the fifth columns is the optional text description for the asset. q1 | mtype1 | atype1 | url | description q1 | mtype2 | atype2 | url | description q1 | mtype2 | atype3 | url | description q2 | mtype1 | atype1 | url | description q2 | mtype2 | atype3 | url | description For the original six types I did have a script that parsed the source excel workbook into the other two excel workbooks, and I was able to add two more types until I ran aground on the implementation of the ninth type and tenth types. What broke my script was the fact that the ninth type is actually a sub-type of one of the original six, but with entirely different logic, and my mostly procedural script could not accommodate without duplicating a lot of code. I also had a lot of bugs in the script and will be writing the test first on this time around. I'm stuck with the format for the resulting two workbooks, this script is glue code, development went ahead with the project without bothering to get a complete spec from the sponsor. I work for the same company as the developers but in the editorial department, editorial is co-sponsor of the project, and am expected to fix pesky details like this (I'm foaming at the mouth as I type this). I've tried factories, I've tried different object models, but each resulting workbook is so different when I find a design that works for generating one workbook the code is not really usable for generating the other. What I would really like are ideas about a maintainable and extensible design for parsing the source workbook into both workbooks with maximum code reuse, and or sympathy.

  • Haskell Parsec Numeration

    - by Martin
    I'm using Text.ParserCombinators.Parsec and Text.XHtml to parse an input like this: - First type A\n -- First type B\n - Second type A\n -- First type B\n --Second type B\n And my output should be: <h11 First type A\n</h1 <h21.1 First type B\n</h2 <h12 Second type A\n</h2 <h22.1 First type B\n</h2 <h22.2 Second type B\n</h2 I have come to this part, but I cannot get any further: title1= do{ ;(count 1 (char '-')) ;s <- many1 anyChar newline ;return (h1 << s) } title2= do{ ;(count 2 (char '--')) ;s <- many1 anyChar newline ;return (h1 << s) } text=do { ;many (choice [try(title1),try(title2)]) } main :: IO () main = do t putStr "Error: " print err Right x - putStrLn $ prettyHtml x This is ok, but it does not include the numbering. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • date_create_from_format equivalent for PHP 5.2 (or lower)

    - by leekelleher
Hi all, I'm working with PHP 5.3 on my local machine and needed to parse a UK date format (dd/mm/yyyy). I found that strtotime didn't work with that date format, so I used date_create_from_format instead - which works great. Now, my problem is that my staging server is running PHP 5.2, and date_create_from_format doesn't work on that version. (It's a shared server, and wouldn't have a clue how to upgrade it to PHP 5.3) So is there a similar function to date_create_from_format that I can use? Bespoke or PHP native? Many thanks, - Lee

  • converting JSON to an object / dictionary / dynamic

    - by benpage
I'm currently using jqGrid to display data. Part of jqGrid's interface will give you search options, posting back the search details in a JSON string, for example: {"groupOp":"AND","rules":[{"field":"PersonID","op":"eq","data":"123"},{"field":"LastName","op":"eq","data":"Smith"}]} (meaning i'm searching for personID = 123, and LastName = 'Smith') so what i'm hoping to do is somehow convert that back into something i can use server-side. Does anyone have a solution for this that may convert it back into an object of some kind? My current solution would be to convert into xml, parse with linq and create instances of my own 'search' class with a 'rules' collection.

  • Does Javascript/EcmaScript3 support ISO8601 date parsing?

    - by AlexanderN
How are you currently parsing ISO8601 dates e.g. 2010-02-23T23:04:48Z in JavaScript? Some browsers return NaN (including Chrome) when using the code below, FF3.6+ works though. <html> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> var d = Date.parse("2010-02-23T23:04:48Z"); document.write(d); </script> </body> </html> You can try this here http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/tryit.asp?filename=tryjsref_parse ps: DateJs doesn't seem to support ISO8601 parsing.

  • Parsing XML using xml.etree.cElementTree

    - by Andre
I have the following XML in a string named 'xml': <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <Book> <Page> <Text>Blah</Text> </Page> </Book> I'm trying to get the value Blah out of it but I'm having trouble with xml.etree.cElementTree. I've tried the find() and findtext() methods but nothing. Eventually I did this: import xml.etree.cElementTree as ET ... root = ET.fromstring(xml) element = root.getchildren()[0].getchildren()[0] Element now equals the element, which is what I want (for this solution anyway), but how do I get the inner text from it? element.text does not work. Any ideas? PS: I am using Python 2.5 atm. As an extra question: what is a better way to parse xml strings in python?

  • Need help modifying my Custom Replace code based on string passed to it

    - by fraXis
Hello, I have a C# program that will open a text file, parse it for certain criteria using a RegEx statement, and then write a new text file with the changed criteria. For example: I have a text file with a bunch of machine codes in it such as: X0.109Y0Z1.G0H2E1 My C# program will take this and turn it into: X0.109Y0G54G0T3 G43Z1.H2M08 (Note: the T3 value is really the H value (H2 in this case) + 1). T = H + 1 It works great, because the line usually always starts with X so the RegEx statement always matches. My RegEx that works with my first example is as follows: //Regex pattern for: //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value) //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value)M(value) //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value)A(value) //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value)M(value)A(value) //value can be positive or negative, integer or floating point number with multiple decimal places or without any private Regex regReal = new Regex("^(X([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(Y([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(Z([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(G([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(H([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(E([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(M([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*)?(A([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*)?$"); This RegEx works great because sometimes the line of code could also have an M or A at the end such as: X0.109Y0Z1.G0H2E1A2 My problem is now I have run into some lines of code that have this: G90G0X1.5Y-0.036E1Z3.H1 and I need to turn it into this: G90G0X1.5Y-0.036G54T2 G43Z3.H1M08 Can someone please modify my RegEx and code to turn this: G90G0X1.5Y-0.036E1Z3.H1 into: G90G0X1.5Y-0.036G54T2 G43Z3.H1M08 But sometimes the values could be a little different such as: G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)E(value)Z(value)H(value) G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)E(value)Z(value)H(value)A(value) G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)E(value)Z(value)H(value)A(value)(M)value G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)E(value)Z(value)H(value)M(value)(A)value But also (this is where Z is moved to a different spot) G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)Z(value)E(value)H(value) G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)Z(value)E(value)H(value)A(value) G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)Z(value)E(value)H(value)A(value)(M)value G(value)G(value)X(value)Y(value)Z(value)E(value)H(value)M(value)(A)value Here is my code that needs to be changed (I did not include the open and saving of the text file since that is pretty standard stuff). //Regex pattern for: //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value) //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value)M(value) //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value)A(value) //- X(value)Y(value)Z(value)G(value)H(value)E(value)M(value)A(value) //value can be pozitive or negative, integer or floating point number with multiple decimal places or without any private Regex regReal = new Regex("^(X([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(Y([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(Z([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(G([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(H([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(E([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*){1}(M([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*)?(A([-]|[.]|[-.]|[0-9])[0-9]*[.]*[0-9]*)?$"); private string CheckAndModifyLine(string line) { if (regReal.IsMatch(line)) //Check the first Regex with line string { return CustomReplace(line); } else { return line; } } private string CustomReplace(string input) { string returnValue = String.Empty; int zPos = input.IndexOf("Z"); int gPos = input.IndexOf("G"); int hPos = input.IndexOf("H"); int ePos = input.IndexOf("E"); int aPos = input.IndexOf("A"); int hValue = Int32.Parse(input.Substring(hPos + 1, ePos - hPos - 1)) + 1; //get H number //remove A value returnValue = ((aPos == -1) ? input : input.Substring(0, aPos)); //replace Z value returnValue = Regex.Replace(returnValue, "Z[-]?\\d*\\.*\\d*", "G54"); //replace H value returnValue = Regex.Replace(returnValue, "H\\d*\\.*\\d*", "T" + hValue.ToString() + ((aPos == -1) ? String.Empty : input.Substring(aPos, input.Length - aPos))); //replace E, or E and M value returnValue = Regex.Replace(returnValue, "E\\d*\\.*\\d(M\\d*\\.*\\d)?", Environment.NewLine + "G43" + input.Substring(zPos, gPos - zPos) + input.Substring(hPos, ePos - hPos) + "M08"); return returnValue; } I tried to modify the above code to match the new line of text I am encountering (and split into two lines like my first example) but I am failing miserably. Thanks so much.

  • Need help with Zend Framework dynamic Namespaces

    - by Marcus Sjölin
I want to make my system redirect unknown requests such as www.address.com/a_company to the adress www.address.com/companies/company/ and display the company a_company if it exists in the database, otherwise throw the user to a 404 not found page. So in detail, I want to make namespace that is as the first example dynamically, if the company exist in the database, I have no problem connecting to the database and retrieving information or finding a way to parse a company name, I just need help how to make my system check and run a function every time the address doesn't exist and show the second page (/companies/company/).. I am using an Acl as well, but I think it should be fine if the page is /companies/company and then possibly add /?c=a_company or similar. Thank you. /Marcus

  • Scrapy spider is not working

    - by Zeynel
Since nothing so far is working I started a new project with python scrapy-ctl.py startproject Nu I followed the tutorial exactly, and created the folders, and a new spider from scrapy.contrib.spiders import CrawlSpider, Rule from scrapy.contrib.linkextractors.sgml import SgmlLinkExtractor from scrapy.selector import HtmlXPathSelector from scrapy.item import Item from Nu.items import NuItem from urls import u class NuSpider(CrawlSpider): domain_name = "wcase" start_urls = ['http://www.whitecase.com/aabbas/'] names = hxs.select('//td[@class="altRow"][1]/a/@href').re('/.a\w+') u = names.pop() rules = (Rule(SgmlLinkExtractor(allow=(u, )), callback='parse_item'),) def parse(self, response): self.log('Hi, this is an item page! %s' % response.url) hxs = HtmlXPathSelector(response) item = Item() item['school'] = hxs.select('//td[@class="mainColumnTDa"]').re('(?<=(JD,\s))(.*?)(\d+)') return item SPIDER = NuSpider() and when I run C:\Python26\Scripts\Nu>python scrapy-ctl.py crawl wcase I get [Nu] ERROR: Could not find spider for domain: wcase The other spiders at least are recognized by Scrapy, this one is not. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help!

  • Associating Worksheets with their Names using OpenXML SDK 1.0

    - by John Price
I'm using version 1.0 of Microsoft's OpenXML SDK to do some basic parsing of .xlsx files. I can get and parse the worksheets, and I can get a list of worksheet names, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to link up what name goes with what worksheet. I understand that an element like <sheet name="My Sheet" sheetId="1" r:id="rId1"/> in the workbook is linked up to a specific worksheet via the relationships defined in xl/_rels.xml, but I can't see where any of the relationship info is exposed in the API. I'm using C#, but any VB.NET examples would be just as helpful. I feel like this should be dead simple, but I can't figure it out. It also looks like it may be more straightforward in v2.0 of the SDK, but upgrading isn't an option at the moment.

  • jQuery ajax() function is ignoring dataType parameter in Firefox

    - by ccleve
I'm trying to use jQuery.ajax() to fetch some html, but Firefox is giving me a "junk after document element" error message. As explained here and here the problem seems to be that Firefox is expecting XML from the server, and when it doesn't parse correctly it throws the error. Here's my ajax code: jQuery.ajax({ url: name, dataType: "html", success: function(result) { console.log(result); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { console.log(errorThrown); } }); The server returns the html with these response headers: Accept-Ranges bytes Content-Length 2957 Last-Modified Tue, 02 Jul 2013 16:16:59 GMT Note that there's no content-type header. I'm sure that adding one would solve the problem, but that's not an option. The real problem is that Firefox appears to be ignoring the dataType: parameter in the ajax call. I've also tried adding contentType: and accepts: parameters, but it doesn't help. What am I missing here? How do I force Firefox to process the response as plain text?

  • Java JEditorPane Format

    - by ikurtz
im trying to implement a Chat feature in my application. i have used 2 JEditorPane. one for holding chat history and the other for sending chat to the previous JEditorPane. the JEditorPane is text/html type. the problem i am having is when i put more than one space between characters it is automatically removed by the parser because it is HTML! how can i make it so, that the spaces are not stripped? example: hello world becomes: hello world. also i am having to parse the html tags so the new messages can be added to the history window. is there a better option than using JEditorPane? if i used JTextPane would it be easier to implement? i would like the chat boxes/panes to be able to handle bold, URL embedding for now. thank you and look forward to your guidance.

  • Unit Testing XML independent of physical XML file

    - by RAbraham
Hi, My question is: In JUnit, How do I setup xml data for my System Under Test(SUT) without making the SUT read from an XML file physically stored on the file system Background: I am given a XML file which contains rules for creation of an invoice. My job is to convert these rules from XMl to Java Objects e.g. If there is a tag as below in my XML file which indicates that after a period of 30 days, the transaction cannot be invoiced <ExpirationDay>30</ExpirationDay> this converts to a Java class , say ExpirationDateInvoicingRule I have a class InvoiceConfiguration which should take the XML file and create the *InvoicingRule objects. I am thinking of using StAX to parse the XML document within InvoiceConfiguration Problem: I want to unit test InvoiceConfiguration. But I dont want InvoiceConfiguration to read from an xml file physically on the file system . I want my unit test to be independent of any physical stored xml file. I want to create a xml representation in memory. But a StAX parser only takes FileReader( or I can play with the File Object)
