  So, with HTML5 giving us local SQL databases on the client side, if you want to write a select or insert, you no longer have the ability to sanitize third party input by saying $buddski = mysql_real_escape_string($tuddski) because the PHP parser and MySQL bridge are far away. It's a whole new world of SQLite where you compose your queries and parse your results with JavaScript. But while you may not have your whole site's database go down, the user who gets his/her database corrupted or wiped due to a malicious injection attack is going to be rather upset. So, what's the best way, in pure JavaScript, to escape/sanitize your inputs so they will not wreak havoc with your user's built-in database? Scriptlets? specifications? Anyone?

• Java JEditorPane Format

  im trying to implement a Chat feature in my application. i have used 2 JEditorPane. one for holding chat history and the other for sending chat to the previous JEditorPane. the JEditorPane is text/html type. the problem i am having is when i put more than one space between characters it is automatically removed by the parser because it is HTML! how can i make it so, that the spaces are not stripped? example: hello world becomes: hello world. also i am having to parse the html tags so the new messages can be added to the history window. is there a better option than using JEditorPane? if i used JTextPane would it be easier to implement? i would like the chat boxes/panes to be able to handle bold, URL embedding for now. thank you and look forward to your guidance.

  Hi, My question is: In JUnit, How do I setup xml data for my System Under Test(SUT) without making the SUT read from an XML file physically stored on the file system Background: I am given a XML file which contains rules for creation of an invoice. My job is to convert these rules from XMl to Java Objects e.g. If there is a tag as below in my XML file which indicates that after a period of 30 days, the transaction cannot be invoiced <ExpirationDay>30</ExpirationDay> this converts to a Java class , say ExpirationDateInvoicingRule I have a class InvoiceConfiguration which should take the XML file and create the *InvoicingRule objects. I am thinking of using StAX to parse the XML document within InvoiceConfiguration Problem: I want to unit test InvoiceConfiguration. But I dont want InvoiceConfiguration to read from an xml file physically on the file system . I want my unit test to be independent of any physical stored xml file. I want to create a xml representation in memory. But a StAX parser only takes FileReader( or I can play with the File Object)

• Finding new IP in a file

  Hello. I have a file of IP addresses called "IPs". When I parse a new IP from my logs, I'd like to see if the new IP is already in file IPs, before I add it. I know how to add the new IP to the file, but I'm having trouble seeing if the new IP is already in the file. !/usr/bin/python from IPy import IP IP = IP('192.168.1.2') f=open(IP('IPs', 'r')) #This line doesn't work f=open('IPs', 'r') # this one doesn't work for line in f: if IP == line: print "Found " +IP +" before" f.close() In the file "IPs", each IP address is on it's own line. • Autotools automatic invocation of lcov after 'make check'

  I have successfully set up an autotools project where the tests compiles with instrumentation so I can get a test coverage report. I can get the report by running lcov in the source dir after a successful 'make check'. I now face the problem that I want to automate this step. I would like to add this to 'make check' or to make it a separate goal 'make check-coverage'. Ideally I would like to parse the result and fail if the coverage falls below a certain percentage. Problem is that I cannot figure out how to add a custom target at all. The closest I got was finding this example autotools config, but I can't see where in that project the goal 'make lcov' is added. I can only see some configure flags in m4/auxdevel.m4. Any tips?

• Android Maps Back Button

  I'm developing an application that shows a path on a map, determined by a KML file. Specifically, in the MapActivity that is starting the map: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); MapView mapView = (MapView) findViewById(R.id.mapview); mapView.setBuiltInZoomControls(true); Uri uri = Uri.parse("geo:0,0?q=http://urltokml"); Intent mapIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, uri); mapIntent.setData(uri); startActivity(Intent.createChooser(mapIntent, kmlFile)); finish(); } The map loads fine and after a few seconds the path described by the KML shows up. The problem is, when I press the "Back" button, it does not return to the previous screen but instead just hides the KML overlay. If the "Back" button is pressed again, it will return to the previous screen. Any ideas of how to solve this?

  I'm using tagsoup to clean some HTML I'm scraping from the internet, and I'm getting the following error when parsing through pages with comments: The data "- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - " is not legal for a JDOM comment: Comment data cannot start with a hyphen. • How to filter rows in JTable based on boolean valued columns?

  Im trying to filter rows based on a column say c1 that contains boolean values. I want to show only rows that have 'true' in c1. I looked up the examples in http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/table.html#sorting. The example uses a regex filter. Is there any way I can use boolean values to filter rows? • Why my button can trigger the UI to scroll and my TimerTask inside the activity can't?

  Long Story Short: a method of my activity updates and scrolls the ListView through an ArrayAdapter like it should, but a method of an internal TimerTask for polling messages (which are displayed in the ListView) updates the ListView, but don't scroll it. Why?   I've read several articles that tell you how to add text to the output window in visual studio from within an Add-On (specifically, a visual studio 2008 integration package, via the visual studio 2008 SDK 1.1), but no examples of how to read text from the output window. My goal is to parse text from the debug output window while debugging a certain application (TRACE output and possibly stdin/stdout). The IVsOutputWindowPane interface has no methods for reading in text from the output window. The documentation seems to imply that it is possible, but it doesn't provide an example: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb166236(VS.80).aspx Quote: In addition, the OutputWindow and OutputWindowPane objects add some higher-level functionality to make it easier to enumerate the Output window panes and to retrieve text from the panes. • Which language/framework to use for this desktop internet application?

  I'd like to experiment with a new language/framework to work on some desktop tools for myself, which will do tasks related to internet services. I.e. i'd like to to monitor some of my servers for http or icmp response, also parse xml responses. I have experience with php, lua, mysql, and basic knowledge of java and c++. I'm also interested in exploring multithreading for this, background tasks and a responsive gui do need that as i have read. Being a private project, i certainly want to learn something new, but i don't have that much free time. The question for you would be which language and what framework to choose that could help me with this tasks: lightweight + fast gui (windows only would be ok, platform-independent even better) network/socket support, html module would be appreciated htmlview support xml "parsing" support (xpath or something like the phpish DOMDocument class) threading support Free software would be nice, but paying some bucks won't hurt me if it really helps the case.

• NSString to NSData Failing in Encoding

  I'm trying to use NSXmlParser to parse ISO-8859-1 data. Using Apple's own example for parsing ISO-8859-1, I have the following. NSString *xmlFilePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:sampleFileName ofType:@"xml"]; NSString *xmlFileContents = [NSString stringWithContentsOfFile:xmlFilePath encoding:NSISOLatin1StringEncoding error:nil]; NSLog(@"contents: %@", xmlFileContents); I see that in the console, the contents of the string is accurate. However when I try to convert it to an NSData object (for use with the parser), I do the following. NSData *xmlData = [xmlFileContents dataUsingEncoding:NSISOLatin1StringEncoding]; But then when my didStartElement delegate gets called, I see  showing up which I think is from an encoding discrepancy. Can NSXmlParser handle ISO-8859-1 and if so, what am I doing wrong?

• Android - Calling getJSONArray throwing JSONException with no stack trace

  Hi all, I'm currently working on an android app that pulls a list of forums from a JSON feed. I'm trying to parse the feed and immediately upon calling getJSONArray a JSON exception is being thrown with no stack trace. The JSON being returned is stored in an JSONObject jobj with the format as follows: { "Forum": [ {"ForumName":"CEC Employee Communications Forum","ForumId":"105"}, {"ForumName":"CEC External Stakeholder Relations Forum","ForumId":"109"}, {"ForumName":"See All...","ForumId":"0"} ] } However when running the following code, I get an immediate exception without a stack trace: JSONArray jarray = new JSONArray(); jarray = jobj.getJSONArray("Forum"); Running jobj.GetJSONArray("Forum").toString(); returns what looks to be a correct array of the format: [ {"ForumName":"CEC Employee Communications Forum","ForumId":"105"}, {"ForumName":"CEC External Stakeholder Relations Forum","ForumId":"109"}, {"ForumName":"See All...","ForumId":"0"} ] I also tried JSONArray jarray = new JSONArray(jobj.GetJSONArray("Forum").toString()); and had the exception thrown immediately.   Google will now parse certain microdata (for example reviews) on your web pages and display the info in search results. They call this Rich Snippets I am wondering is this page specific or domain specific? I keep all my reviews on a separate review page thats linked to from the home page. But my review page itself is very unlikely to be displayed in a search result, more likely to be displayed is my homepage or product landing page. But being that the review microdata is not on these pages (but is on the website). I am wondering if the rich snippets will be shown for these pages?

• Re-Apply currency formatting to a UITextField on a change event

  Howdy all, I'm working with a UITextField that holds a localized currency value. I've seen lots of posts on how to work with this, but my question is: how do I re-apply currency formatting to the UITextField after every key press? I know that I can set up and use a currency formatter with: NSNumberFormatter *currencyFormatter = [[NSNumberFormatter alloc] init]; [currencyFormatter setNumberStyle:NSNumberFormatterCurrencyStyle]; ... [currencyFormatter stringFromNumber:...]; but I don't know how to hook it up. For instance, if the value in the field reads "$12,345" and the user taps the "6" key, then the value should change to "$123,456". Which callback is the "correct" one to do this in (should I use textField:shouldChangeCharactersInRange:replacementString: or a custom target-action) and how do I use the NSNumberFormatter to parse and re-apply formatting to the UITextField's text property? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I tried net.sf.saxon.FeatureKeys whitout success. My question is: what's the correct way to do that?

• ColdFusion code parser?

  I'm trying to create an app to search my company's ColdFusion codebase. I'd like to be able to do intelligent searches, for example: find where a function is defined (and not hit everywhere the function is called). In order to do this, I'd need to parse the ColdFusion code to identify things like function declarations, function calls, database queries, etc. I've looked into using lex and yacc, but I've never used them before and the learning curve seems very steep. I'm hoping there is something already out there that I could use. My other option is a mess of difficult-to-maintain regex-spaghetti code, which I want to avoid.

• Does throwing an exception in an EvalFunc pig UDF skip just that line, or stop completely?

  I have a User Defined Function (UDF) written in Java to parse lines in a log file and return information back to pig, so it can do all the processing. It looks something like this: public abstract class Foo extends EvalFunc<Tuple> { public Foo() { super(); } public Tuple exec(Tuple input) throws IOException { try { // do stuff with input } catch (Exception e) { throw WrappedIOException.wrap("Error with line", e); } } } My question is: if it throws the IOException, will it stop completely, or will it return results for the rest of the lines that don't throw an exception? Example: I run this in pig REGISTER myjar.jar DEFINE Extractor com.namespace.Extractor(); logs = LOAD '$IN' USING TextLoader AS (line: chararray); events = FOREACH logs GENERATE FLATTEN(Extractor(line)); With this input: 1.5 7 "Valid Line" 1.3 gghyhtt Inv"alid line"" I throw an exceptioN!! 1.8 10 "Valid Line 2" Will it process the two lines and will 'logs' have 2 tuples, or will it just die in a fire?
