  • Disable some extra keys on keyboard in windows

    I have a keyboard with some types of extra keys, such as multimedia (play, pause, stop ,..), turn off, and etc. some times it's annoying with a "exit button" just right beside arrows that accidentally presses, and programs gonna close, and some other similar problems. I'm wondering is there any solution to disable, or change the functionality of these types of keyboard keys in Windows (win7)? Cheers

    Hello We have created to virtual machines and installed ISA 2006 Ent and enable NLB configuration, each machine has two NIC one connected to LAN and other connected to DMZ, we are not able to ping DMZ subnet IP of ISA from another machine which is on same DMZ subnet even though we have diable the all ISA services (including firewall). But we can ping LAN IP from all our internal subnets and this ping is working with ISA services are started or stop status Thank you

    I am experiencing issues with VMWare vSphere 5.1 and NFS storage on 2 different setups, which result in an "All Path Down" state for the NFS shares. This first happened once or twice a day, but lately it occurs much more frequent, as specially when Acronis Backup jobs are running. I searched the web extensively and asked in forums, but till now nobody was able to help me. Based on blog posts and VMWare KB articles I tried the following NFS settings: Net.TcpipHeapSize = 32 Net.TcpipHeapMax = 128 NFS.HartbeatFrequency = 12 NFS.HartbeatMaxFailures = 10 NFS.HartbeatTimeout = 5 NFS.MaxQueueDepth = 64 Instead of NFS.MaxQueueDepth = 64 I already tried other settings like NFS.MaxQueueDepth = 32 or even NFS.MaxQueueDepth = 1. Unfortunately without any luck. It would be great if someone could help me on this issue. It is really annoying. Thanks in advance for all the help. [UPDATE] As I explained in the comment below, here is the network setup: On the production setup the NFS traffic is bound to a separate VLAN with ID 20. I am using a HP 1810 24 Port Switch. The OpenFiler system is connected to the VLAN with 4 Intel GbE NICs with dynamic LACP. The ESXis both have 4 Intel GbE NICs using 2 static LACP trunks containing 2 NICs each. One pair is connected to the regular LAN and the other one to the VLAN 20. And here is a screenshot of the vSwitch: Switch configuration: Port configuration: On the lab setup its a single Intel NIC on each side without VLAN, but with different IP subnet.

    I swap my hard drive to a new computer with vista 32 I get 0x0000007b stop error on bootup I tried using the cd to do the repair but it fails. I think it is because I have the wrong hard drive driver install for vista or it is missing. How can I fix this from the command line

    Hi All of a sudden my window services app after installation does not start(Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do) uses custom user, if i change the logon setting to use local system account and click start works fine, then when i go back and change to use this account (local user- custom user under user group) and then click start it works fine, why didn't work in the first place????????????   • VPS IP redirects to website instead of the IP directory? CentOs 6

    So before I started putting websites on my VPS, I could access the IP directly and it would access the html folder in the /var/www/ area. But ever since I placed websites on the VPS, I can no longer access that HTML folder, it goes to the first domain I have listed on the httpd.conf file. Is there a way I can make the IP its self look like a website in the httpd conf file? I tried to construct it like the other websites but httpd would stop working.

  • Capturing multicast data with Wireshark with IGMP Snooping Enabled at the switch

    I am trying to capture multicast traffic via Wireshark (actually TShark), however the switch has IGMP snooping enabled and will only send Multicast traffic on the ports that have an active IGMP subscription. I am currently getting around this by having a separate application hold the groups open I wish to record, but I am trying to set up a system to start/stop recording data dynamically and this extra complexity is painful. Is there a way to force Wireshark to send out IGMP Subscriptions for multicast groups it is recording?

Like I am recording then all of a sudden a popup from windows says that all the memory for colors is being used and it will stop using areo. Then a few mins later my screen starts going nuts and it starts flashing green. So I am not sure what to record and I can't afford to buy Camtasia.

    I have two Bazaar (bzr) repositories that have very similar content. I'm trying to identify the differences and incrementally synchronize. My current strategy is to bzr add files to both repos and then use bzr merge to identify and resolve conflicts. The problem is that even if the file contents are identical it creates a conflict and a .moved file. What can I do to stop these conflicts or use a better workflow?

  • Synaptics Touchpad on Dell Inspiron Stops Responding Sometimes.

    Sometimes for no reason that I can observe my Synaptics touchpad will stop responding to scroll the scroll function (I swipe my finger down the right side). I then have to reboot to get it back. Does anyone know how to fix this? Preferably without upgrading the driver - I upgraded the driver before and it turned out to be crap. I don't want to do that again.   • Turning down the sound on a switched off user

    If one switches users (i.e. user one switches off, and then another users logs in) and there is sound playing on the first user, that sound will continue to play for the second user. If the second user has admin rights, they can guess what program is causing the sound and then kill it, but that is very clumsy, and far more than what "needs" to be done. When I open the mixer, it just shows that sound is playing. How can I stop it?

  • Linux: Dropbox alternative with sftp/rsync/... access

    Currently on my VPS I'm running couple of sites and Dropbox daemon to store backups. Problem is that VPS has 512M RAM and it was enough until new version of Wordpress (I don't know why, but now it consumes more memory) so I have a really bad choice: either stop Dropbox daemon and backups or to buy more memory (not that expensive but still). So I'm looking for some way to rsync data into Dropbox or similar service or figure out how to make Dropbox consume less memory. Any ideas?

    I have been advise by Commvault partner support to turn off the backup of the master database as the backup failed due to the log file being lock. The following is the advise given: "The message is caused by Commvault’s inability to backup the master database’s transaction log.     I've just found that my WSS 3.0 server had two OWSTIMER.EXE services running: SharePoint Timer Service v11 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\60\BIN\OWSTIMER.EXE" Windows SharePoint Services Timer v12 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\BIN\OWSTIMER.EXE" Since I'm running WSS v3, I was expecting to have only one SharePoint Timer instance, and that should be the one in th "12" folder. Should I just stop the other service and keep only the "Windows SharePoint Services Timer" (v12) running?

    The following are all Windows 7 64 bit Business edition computers. I have a PC (lets call it "PC1") that I remotely access now and again using Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) on my laptop downstairs. Sometimes when I physically go back to sit at PC1, the screen is black and there is no way for me to wake it into life, no login screen or anything - the PC is still on and I am always forced to do a hard reboot.     I'm writing a report on developing EJBs in Jdeveloper and every time i type "IDE" my laptop beeps twice in quick succesion. Actually, whilst typing this I've worked out that any combination of shift plus two adjacent keys, one from the row that starts qwerty and one from the row that starts asdfg will beep. It's really quite annoying. It's a hp laptop. Anyone know how I can make it stop?

  • internet connection occasionally stops, but can still ping .com sites

    hi, every half hour or so, for 1-2 minutes my browser will stop navigating to sites, "waiting for ... to respond.." within 2 minutes i will be able to connect to sites and browse like normal again. weird thing is, while i cannot connect to sites, i get ping replies from any .com i type in. this happens on my home wireless network, using FF and IE on a win7 desktop AND FF on an ubuntu laptop the network is wpa2 secured, these are the only connections.
