    I'm using Inno for an installer, and I want to associate a file type with my app: Root: HKCR; Subkey: ".rpl"; ValueType: string; ValueName: ""; ValueData: "MyReplay"; Flags: uninsdeletevalue; Root: HKCR; Subkey: "MyReplay"; ValueType: string; ValueName: ""; ValueData: "Replay File"; Flags: uninsdeletekey; Root: HKCR; Subkey: "MyReplay\DefaultIcon"; ValueType: string; ValueName: ""; ValueData: "{app}\bin\MyApp.ico,0"; Flags: uninsdeletekey; Root: HKCR; Subkey: "MyReplay\shell\open\command"; ValueType: string; ValueName: ""; ValueData: """{app}\bin\MyApp.exe"" ""%1"""; Flags: uninsdeletekey; Right now, double-clicking a .rpl file launches the app, but the working dir appears to be where the .rpl file is located, so the app crashes as it can't load any data. Is it posible to set the registry to control the start/working dir for file associations as well as the app that is launched? Or does my app itself need to be able to work around this?

  • Installer only installs to root on x64 systems

    My MSI installer created with Visual Studio 2008 refuses to install the app in the designated directory and instead will only install the app in the root directory. If I take the same MSI and install in on an x86 system the installer installs the app in the directory specified. I am developing the app and MSI on Server 2008 and Win7 RC x64 (Hyper-V). I see the same results on either development platform. Thanks in advance!

  • Routing table on Linux not respected

    I have a very specific problem, building a Linux VPN endpoint (with external VPN Gateway), which should route certain networks over the tunnel, others via default gateway. The Linux VPN should do a NAT on the outgoing connections for the VPN peers. Setup is as following: Internet gateway LAN 192.168.25.1/24 VPN Gateway LAN 10.45.99.2/24 (VPN tunnel 10.45.99.1 to net 87.115.17.40/29, separate connection to Internet) Linux VPN Router eth0 192.168.25.71/24 eth0:503 10.45.99.1/24 Default 192.168.25.1 route to 87.115.17.40/29 via 10.45.99.2 (send_redirects disabled, ip_forward enabled) Linux clients (multiple): eth0 192.168.25.x/24 Default 192.168.25.1 route to 87.115.17.40/29 via 192.168.25.71 Ping to the machines via tunnel from the VPN Router is working. Now I want to establish a routing from my clients over the VPN gateway and the client packet gets routed to 192.168.25.1 ! traceroute output shows the packets get routed to 192.168.25.71, but then to 192.168.25.1. So the route is not respected in forward ! I want to be able to allow other people to setup their own landing pages and make a percentage of the sale from their site. What are some good payment processors or payment gateways that make setting up an affiliate system easy and fast? Clarification - When someone purchases an item, I want (whatever the payment processor is) to automatically route a percentage of that payment to the affiliate and the rest to the original author.) Are there any payment frameworks that already do this? I've found a few sites that let you do this, but they seem to restrict you to digital purchases only. However, my sites is selling a ship-able product and the affiliate system needs to support this.

So far all tutorials, create the js file that is started from a console...and that's it. Anyone has created a real world web app that uses node js in the back end? Can you please describe how is it setup, and how reliable this infrastructure is ? I'm coming from the asp.net and php world that require heavy web servers...and can't have a clear idea about node stuff.

  • How to setup whole-disk encryption with dual boot on a MacBook Pro (generation 9,2 with 12.04)

    I can install Ubuntu 12.04 on the MacBook when using the "noapic" kernel boot option, using the alternate amd64+mac image (from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04/release/ ). But after installation the screen turn sblack after trying to boot "Windows" (as named in the boot menu that shows up when holding Option/Alt during startup). I want to use whole-disk encryption and given that only one free partition is available, I have setup LVM to do so: - vg0 contains bootlv and cryptlv - in cryptlv I have setup encryption with another LVM volume group (vg1, which holds swaplv, rootlv and homelv) I have not installed Grub during installation (because I was not sure about the partition) and when trying to install it later on /dev/sda4 (which contains the outer LVM) it complained that it could not determine the file system, and --force did not help either. The black screen / behavior looks similar to starting the installer without enabling the noapic option.

  • Is deserializing complex objects instead of creating them a good idea, in test setup?

    I'm writing tests for a component that takes very complex objects as input. These tests are mixes of tests against already existing components, and test-first tests for new features. Instead of re-creating my input objects (this would be a large chunk of code) or reading one from our data store, I had the thought to serialize a live instance of one of these objects, and just deserialize it into test setup. I can't decide if this is a reasonable idea that will save effort in long run, or whether it's the worst idea that I've ever had, causing those that will maintain this code will hunt me down as soon as they read it. Is deserialization of inputs a valid means of test setup in some cases? To give a sense of scale of what I'm dealing with, the size of serialization output for one of these input objects is 93KB.     I overwrote and lost some important scripts and would like to setup version control to protect my stuff. I've used git before, and am familiar with commands, but don't understand where I would put my "remote" repository on an install set up on my own machine---the place I push/pull to. I don't intend to share or access remotely, I just want a little source control for my files.   • OpenVPN Bridge on pfsense: once LAN pings clients, connectivity breaks

    So I'm using a pfsense openvpn to bridge my LAN segment so VPN users can access the servers. The problem I'm having now is that I can establish a connection, I can ping the LAN server from the VPN, but as soon as I ping the client from the LAN server, there is no connectivity anymore between both parties. So: connect from the VPN client to the LAN = works ping the LAN from the VPN client = works access server from the VPN (ssh, ftp,...) = works ping client from server = doesn't work ping LAN from the VPN client = doesn't work anymore My bridge has em1 and ovpns1 bridged. I noted with tcpdump that ICMP is reaching the bridge between LAN and the VPN segment. But it's not put onto the em1 interface for some reason. My pfsense is running on an ESXi host with th vSwitch port enabled in promiscious mode. Firewall rules allow in and outbound traffic regardless origin or destination.

    I have a Cisco ASA 5510 at head office, and Cisco ASA 5505 in remote offices. The remote offices are connected over a split tunnelled VPN - the ASA 5505s use "Easy VPN" Client type VPN in Network Extension Mode (NEM). I'd like to set firewall rules for the non-tunnelled traffic only. Traffic over the VPN to head office should not have any firewall rules applied. I might want to apply different firewall rules to different remote offices. All the documentation I have been able to find assumes the Client VPN is a software endpoint, and all the configuration is done at the 5510. When using a Cisco 5505 as the VPN client, is it possible to configure any firewalling at the Client end, or does it all have to come from the 5510? Are there any other issues to look out for when split-tunnelling a VPN by this method?

  • Setup dual screen with Catalyst Control Center on notebook so that nothing changes when closing lid (case) ?

    I have setup a dualscreen setup for my notebook with an ATI video card (ATI mobility radeon hd 5470) using Catalyst Control Center. The monitor extends the desktop of the notebook's screen. This works great. I am running on windows 7 and have set it up to not do anything when I close my laptop's lid (case) other than dim the notebook's display. However, when I do close the lid (notebook's display), the second monitor suddenly changes and I believe it starts behaving as the primary monitor.. I do not want this to happen. So, how do I setup my dualscreen setup so that it won't set the secondary monitor as the primary one when I close my laptop's lid?   • Help with IPTables - Masquerading + Forwarding, 1-to-1?

    I've got a clean Ubuntu Server 10.10 with OpenSSH, OpenVPN and vsFTPd installed. The server is running as a VM on the Hyper-V server (hypervisor), has two network interfaces mapped to physical adapters (eth0 and eth1), and a virtual interface with a direct connection to the hypervisor (eth2). The VPN will create a tun0 interface when a client connects. What I want is the remote user, connecting over VPN to be able to connect to the hypervisor (all ports, ping etc). The initial idea was to make the VPN create a tap0 interface, and bridge eth2 to tap0, but this didn't work, unfortunately, as it seems that the adapters don't want to go into promiscuous mode (partially confirmed by MS) At the same time, both the hypervisor and the remove client over VPN can successfully ping/connect to the ubuntu server with no problems. So my plan right now is to try doing some 1-1 masquerading, if possible. Basically, I want every request sent from the VPN client to the ubuntu server to be redurected to the hypervisor instead (with IP translation ofc), and every request from the hypervisor to the ubuntu machine sent to the VPN client (IP translated too). Only 1 client will be connected at a time to the VPN, so I can force limit it to a single IP at all times, if necessary. Is this the right way to go, and if true, how can this be achieved? It's almost like a special case of port-forwarding, except every single port on tun0 is forwarded to a machine in eth2, and every port on the eth2 side forwards to an ip on tun0 I guess it could be done with iptables, but I'm rather new in linux, so I can't do it myself... help? :(

  • PostSharp deployment to build machine- use Setup installation, not NuGet package.

    PostSharp has well documented different methods of installation. I've chosen installing NuGet packages, because according to  Deploying PostSharp into a Source Repository NuGet is the easiest way to add PostSharp to a project without installing the product on every machine. However it didn't work well for me. I've added PostSharp NuGet package to one project in the solution.  When I wanted to use PostSharp in other project, Visual Studio tab showed that PostSharp is not enabled for this project I've added the NuGet package to the new project, which installed a new version of the package in the new Packages subfolder. When I wanted to refer PostSharp from the third project, I've ended up with another version of PostSharp installed. Additionally multiple versions of Diagnostics were created. It definitely causes confusion and errors.   More problems we experienced on build server. According to Using PostSharp on a Build Server "If you chose to deploy PostSharp in the source repository, it does not need to be installed specifically on the build server. " It didn't work on our build server. I kept getting errors "The "AddIns" parameter is not supported by the "PostSharp21" task." and "The "DisableSystemBindingPolicies" parameter is not supported by the "PostSharp21" task."   From my experience the only way to have the latest version of PostSharp working on the build server is to install it using Setup as described in Deploying PostSharp with the Setup Program     Gael acknowledged the issues with possible version conflicts. see http://support.sharpcrafters.com/discussions/problems/388-the-postsharp21-task-failed-unexpectedly

  • Why will network manager not allow me save my VPN settings?

    I am trying to configure am OpenVPN client on my laptop. I am running Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit. When I open network manager and import the VPN settings from the premade config folder everything takes. The problem is when I try to save the settings, the save button at the bottom of the network manager applet is greyed out. Further more when I hover over the button it says Authenticate to save this connection for all users of this machine. The problem is I did not check the box Available to all users it was already checked and it is also greyed out and won't let me manipulate it. What is going on? Is this a bug or is there something I am missing? Any help would be wonderful.

    Over the past 5 years, I have been setting up Ubuntu servers using the Alternate installer. I need to provision a new server today, and I'm curious if the Alternate CD is still the only way to setup LVM/RAID at installation time. I'm my limited experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, I noticed it's single installer configures LVM automatically. Has Ubuntu's installer, at least the standard "Server" installer, added support for LVM/RAID, or is the Alternate installer still required for that kind of server setup? http://mirror.anl.gov/pub/ubuntu-iso/DVDs/ubuntu/12.04.1/release/ Alternate install CD The alternate install CD allows you to perform certain specialist installations of Ubuntu. LVM has always been fundamental for our server needs, so I'm surprised if it is still not considered a server-worthy feature.

  • Should I care about Junit redundancy when using setUp() with @Before annotation?

    Even though developers have switched from junit 3.x to 4.x I still see the following 99% of the time: @Before public void setUp(){/*some setup code*/} @After public void tearDown(){/*some clean up code*/} Just to clarify my point... in Junit 4.x, when the runners are set up correctly, the framework will pick up the @Before and @After annotations no matter the method name. So why do developers keep using the same conventional junit 3.x names? Is there any harm keeping the old names while also using the annotations (other than it makes me feel like devs do not know how this really works and just in case, use the same name AND annotate as well)? Is there any harm in changing the names to something maybe more meaningful, like eachTestMethod() (which looks great with @Before since it reads 'before each test method') or initializeEachTestMethod()? What do you do and why? I know this is a tiny thing (and may probably be even unimportant to some), but it is always in the back of my mind when I write a test and see this. I want to either follow this pattern or not but I want to know why I am doing it and not just because 99% of my fellow developers do it as well.

  • How can I get my setup.py to use a relative path to my files?

    I'm trying to build a Python distribution with distutils. Unfortunately, my directory structure looks like this: /code /mypackage __init__.py file1.py file2.py /subpackage __init__.py /build setup.py Here's my setup.py file: from distutils.core import setup setup( name = 'MyPackage', description = 'This is my package', packages = ['mypackage', 'mypackage.subpackage'], package_dir = { 'mypackage' : '../mypackage' }, version = '1', url = 'http://www.mypackage.org/', author = 'Me', author_email = '[email protected]', ) When I run python setup.py sdist it correctly generates the manifest file, but doesn't include my source files in the distribution. Apparently, it creates a directory to contain the source files (i.e. mypackage1) then copies each of the source files to mypackage1/../mypackage which puts them outside of the distribution. How can I correct this, without forcing my directory structure to conform to what distutils expects?
