• Oops, no RSA or DSA server certificate found for 'server.host.name:0'?

  I'm setting up a new web server that hosts a dozen virtual hosts on Ubuntu 12.4 using Apache 2.2.22 with one config file per site. I created all the configuration files all at once and ran a2ensite * to enable them all at once. When I reloaded the configuration it failed and after restarting apache I found the following error message in my error.log: Oops, no RSA or DSA server certificate found for 'server.host.name:0'?! Most of the results for this error message are years old that don't fix the problem or are bugs that have been fixed https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=31709

• Using wildcard SSL certs (chain certificate) with mod_gnutls

  I have a wildcard SSL certificate from GoDaddy that has three files: wildcard.crt gd_bundle.crt wildcard.key In setting up mod_gnutls to be used with Apache, I can get the site to come up, but it throws a warning that the SSL certificate has not been validated by a CA. When I use mod_ssl, I can stipulate a SSLCertificateChainFile directive and point it at the bd_bundle.crt file. I do not see how to do this with mod_gnutls. Any help is appreciated. I also know that mod_ssl supports SNI, so if there is not an easy answer, I will just try that. Thanks, QWade

• Restore deleted default folders

  I was tinkering with my new laptop and, on purpose, deleted those default folders in my "home" directory: "My Music", "Links", "Favorites". This, because, i decided i wanted all my data on another partition, leaving C: only for applications and configs files. But now, some of the explorer functionalities are gone: i cannot use the Favorites tree in the left side pane, also discovered that "My Documents" stores some PowerShell config file. I feel like i misunderstood this folders' purpose and by deleting them, provoked some Explorer instability. Is there any way to restore them? I do not seem to find it. • Windows 7 KSOD On Login

  For those that are unaware, KSOD means blacK Screen of Death. Essentially, when windows starts my computer shows only the cursor and a black screen. It seems like any and all shell elements are disabled (or perhaps not started). I have seen a number of these questions asked, none of which have matched my situation. CTRL + ALT + ... does not respond Restarting in safe mode, results in the same KSOD sfc /scannow seems to have no effect when typed at the command prompt that is accessed using the recovery tools via the install disk Update to item 3: sfc /scannow reports: There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again. However, Windows does not restart past KSOD. Update to item 3 as per Soandos comment re: /offbootdir sfc /scannow /offbotdir=e:\ /windir=e:\windows "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. • Does SOLARIS have similar file to Linux's /etc/security/limits.conf?

  I'm doing compliance check on SOLARIS 10 OS. I need to verify the following parameter settings: core file size (blocks, -c) unlimited data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited file size (blocks, -f) unlimited open files (-n) 65536 stack size (kbytes, -s) unlimited cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited Sure I could use ulimit -cH to get display above. But I also need to find where those settings are. I'm from Linux, in Linux we have /etc/security/limts.conf file to hold alike information. Do we have such file in Solaris? TIA!

• Setting php values in php-fpm confs instead of php.ini

  I'd like to set values in php-fpm conf files what are normally set in php.ini. I'm using nginx. I've created the following setting, but I'm not sure if this would work. php_value[memory_limit] = 96M php_value[max_execution_time] = 120 php_value[max_input_time] = 300 php_value[php_post_max_size] = 25M php_value[upload_max_filesize] = 25M Do you think if this is OK like this? What happens when a value is both set in php.ini and in php-fpm conf files? The php-fpm overrides the ini one? Finally, isn't it a problem that this way I can set different values for all virtual hosts? I mean php.ini seems like a global setting, while this is host dependent. Can different hosts run with different memory-limits, etc?

• Serving static content from cookie less domain and mod_deflate

  I have two domain. One domain with my main website and the other with js/css/etc.. files, static content. mod_deflate is enabled for both domains, but when i run ySlow in FireFox it says none of my static content is compressed. When i bring back the js or css file to my normal domain it gets compressed right. Only when its served from the other domain is it not compressed. Do i have to do some more configuration for this to work? I am using this line in my .htaccess file AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/x-javascript text/css text/html text/xml text/plain application/x-httpd-php I tried to but the line in my httpd.conf file but it gives me the same results. PS. If this is more of a serverfault question i am sorry for this. But i see a lot of questions here concerning mod_deflate and ySlow

• Unlock file on Windows Server 2003 without rebooting

  We've several Windows Server 2003 machines running, each with its own purposes. There are scheduled jobs which synchronizes some files over SFTP using WinSCP. Very sometimes a newly copied file is left locked in the "inbox" folder without any reason. The machine's own background task (programmed in Java) can't move it to the "processed" folder anymore after processing it. Manually moving it only yields the well known error message Cannot move [filename]: it is being used by another person or program. The only resort is to reboot the machine, but we would of course like to avoid that. Any suggestions? I tried Unlocker which works fine locally at WinXP, but doesn't work at those Win2K3 machines by remote desktop (unlock option doesn't show up in rightclick context menu).

  We've been having a lot of funky issues with some of our web based applications that allow clients to submit lot of image files to our servers. Lots of ports are used in the process. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS09-048.mspx - released in Sept-2009. support.microsoft.com/kb/974288 - Memory Pressure Protection description. Evidently, after applying KB967723, our clients receive funky error messages as if connections cannot be made to the server or connections have been closed. There doesn't appear to be a pattern and sometimes it works and other times is doesn't. Typically we've noticed it when server is under load. I'm curious what others think about this MPP and any issues that you may have experienced from it. I understand its purpose, but I think it may have broken a lot of apps in the process. It doesn't look like Microsoft made this "feature" public to everyone.

• Windows XP update not working

  I have a problem with XP updating. It hangs when I try to search for updates on the website. But the automatic updates still work. And it's running IE6, so I'm trying to update to IE8, hoping that will fix the problems with the website. But when installing IE8 it just hangs at Installing Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP And if I try to install it manually, it hangs when installing the updates for IE8. So looking at these logs, is there anything going wrong with the update process?   Problem Got java.io.IOException: Too many open files in solr indexing through jenkins. Did some googling and found we have to set the ulimit for the box in where we are running the job. So set the ulimit in a linux box with spec Linux x86_64 GNU/Linux in both of the following fashions ulimit -n 1000000 /etc/security/limits.conf userx soft nofile 1000000 userx hard nofile 1000000 Given userx is the user through which the jenkins job is being executed. when doing ssh to the box as userx manually through terminal and check ulimit -n am getting 10000000 Question But when executing the same ulimit -n through a jenkins job, only getting 1024 which is the default. Any advice would be much helpful?

  When i create a website/virtual directory pointing to UNC path, its make our file copy extremely slow on the UNC path. 6 seconds for file copy (~13 M) on the UNC path without any virtual directory/website pointing to it. over 1 mins. for file copy (same files ~13M) on the same UNC path with virtual directory/website pointing to it. All file copy operation run on web server side. Our setting as below: Web server - Windows Server standard R2 2008 / IIS 7.5 File server - Windows Server standard 2003 I have tested this case on 3 servers (Windows Server standard R2 2008 / IIS 7.5) and got same result. I also tested this case on 2 windows 2003 / IIS 6, it won't slow down the file copy. Is it IIS 7.5 bug? any patch/hotfix to solve this case? Thank you. Gordon

  I know Windows XP and previous had an rsm.exe file in the <root>\windows\system32 folder that could be used to manage media. I used this command in batch files and from the command line to eject external disks (iPod, CF cardreader, etc.). This utility appears not to be included in Windows 7, and I wonder if there is some replacement utility that will allow the same thing. I've been unable to find any such thing. I'm aware of the 3rd party utilities; this question is only about what is included with Windows 7.

• growing EBS RAID volume

  I've created a RAID0 configuration with two 1GB EBS volumes, mounted at /dev/md0 using mdadm and formatted with XFS Next, I copied some files over to fill the volume to around 30% of its capacity (of 2GB) I then created snapshots of the volumes using ec2-consistent-snapshot and created volumes of the said snapshots but specified the volume size to be 2GB (effective doubling the capacity on each disk) I then spun up a new instance, assembled the RAID0 configuration on /dev/md0 from the 2 volumes mentioned above and mount it to /vol df -hT showed /vol as 2GB (as expected) Now I ran sudo xfs_growfs -d /vol. The command completed normally but reported blocks changed from 523776 to 524160 (only!) and df -hT still showed /vol as 2GB (instead of the expected 4GB) I rebooted, remounted, reassembled the RAID but it still reports the old size. Any clue as to what went wrong?

  I have this problem on my home network where when I try to copy files via wireless connection, at some point the copy fails and the machine doing the copy loses connection to the network. I'm pretty much lost as to figuring out the source for the problem... Some more details that might help: It's not OS related. I have Windows 7 machines and Leopard machines and this occurs on both I'm using a 3com OfficeConnect router Wired transfer works fine Other programs that require heavy wireless traffic work just fine:streaming large HD movies, Xbox Live! ... I tried to copy a folder to a remote share with robocopy c:\source "\\server\share\path" /s /r:2 /w:2` As a result I get permission denied. Using explorer I can copy files to this share. • nginx tmp file folder runing out of diskspace

I checked the file permission, it becomes: drwxr-xr-x but after I unmounted the it then becomes drwxrwxrwx and I can read and write to it. very strange. I don't know where I've down wrong. Cheers.

  After searching in my start menu and clicking to "see more results", I got an error dialog: It "seems" that it should be search-ms:query=document an not search:query=document but where can I fix this? Additional info: New user account don't have the problem. • Uninstall Apache using make

  I installed httpd using make. But i cant find any remove/uninstall method in README or INSTALL files. Also, i searched the http://apache.org docs. There also there is no mention of uninstalling using make. Actually, i didnt pass the PREFIX value, and it got installed into /usr/local/apache/. Is it fine? • lsyncd + csync2 : cluster of 3 or more nodes

  I've got 3 (and potentially more) web servers hosting the same content (fronted by a load balancer). Thus, I need to make sure that files on these web servers are the same. It appears that csync2 in combination with lsyncd is able to do synchronize a cluster of nodes, but according to this article there's a problem with cyclic events in such a setup. In other words, the author writes that a file change on one machine would trigger a replication event to other machines, which again would trigger a replication event back to the original machine. It appears that this is a consequence of the setup which uses lsyncd (and inotify) to catch file modification events and from there trigger csync2 to replicate the file tree. Does anyone have experience with lsyncd in combination with csync2. Have you had trouble with cyclic events?
