  • WPF reference style in resource dictionary and use triggers

    I have a style defined in a resource dictionary that applies to all ComboBox controls. Within the ComboBox control, I reference the style like so: Style="{DynamicResource MyComboBoxStyle}" This works ok. I want to be able to add some triggers to some of the ComboBox controls. What is a good way to use the style referenced as a dynamic resource yet still be able to add triggers to some of the ComboBox controls?

  • why do i see THROW in a C library

    When I do: less /usr/include/stdio.h (which is only a C library - nothing to do with C++) I see __THROW after quite a few function declarations. Also, comments above a few functions say that 'This function is a possible cancellation point and therefore not marked with __THROW' What is all this for? THROW is meant to be for exception handling.. but as far as I know, C doesn't provide any support for it... Plz explain.

    When I add a service reference to my Visual Studio 2010 C# project, a new class for one of the types defined in the WSDL will be generated. A de-facto equivalent definition of that type already exists in our solution in a different assembly. When adding the SoapTypeAttribute to the existing class and replacing the references to the generated class in the generated code, everything runs perfectly and as expected. How would I tell Visual Studio to use the existing class in the generated code?

    I have two C files and one header that are as follows: Header file header.h: char c = 0; file1.c: #include "header.h" file2.c: #include "header.h" I was warned about 'duplicate definition' when compiling. I understand the cause as the variable c is defined twice in both file1.c and file2.c; however, I do need to reference the header.h in both c files. How should I overcome this issue?

I've previously asked a question about a problem with manage.py syncdb returning an exception and the answer was that the app has a wrong import. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2734721/django-manage-py-syncdb-not-working I'd like to know the technique used to find the place where there is a wrong import. I tried ./manage.py syncdb --verbosity=2 but I didn't get any more information that way.

    Is there a way to use visual studio's "add assembly reference dialog" (or something similar) in my own application? I need it for dynamic code generation and compilation. This is not simply an OpenFileDialog, since it additionally looks into the GAC and so on, so it will be very complicated to do it on my own, I think. If this is not possible, how can I get a list of all assemblies from the GAC?

  • Write Null/Nothing value with Databinding

    I have extended a MaskedTextBox component to add some functionality. The text property of the extended MaskedTextBox is bound to a DateTime? property and the format of binding is set to a time format of "HH:mm:ss" (i.e. 24hr time). So that this masked text box will capture the display a time. The extra functionality I have added is to make the component readonly unless the component is double clicked or the enter button is pressed (the back color of the control helps to inform the users if the component is locked/readonly or not). When the enter button is pressed I also suspend the bindings so that bound data is updated the users input won't be lost. The information is then written back to the value and databindings resumed when the user presses the enter key again. This all works fine up to here, with values written and displayed as would be expected. However, I also want to write the null or nothing value to the DateTime? property if the user hasn't entered any text (or invalid text but let's just stick with no text) when enter key is pressed to submit the new value. Unlike with other valid entries in the MaskedTextBox, with no text entered when i execute: Me.DataBindings("Text").WriteValue() (when 'locking' the MaskedTextBox) it then branches to the bound properties Get method as I step into each line of code in the debugger (as opposed to the Set method with other valid entries) How can I write this null/nothing/"" value to the DateTime? property when no text "" is entered into the MaskedTextBox?     I get an Invalid Operation Exception when inserting records in a View that uses “Instead of” triggers in SQL Server with ADO.NET Entity Framework 4. The error message says: {"The changes to the database were committed successfully, but an error occurred while updating the object context. The ObjectContext might be in an inconsistent state. Inner exception message: The key-value pairs that define an EntityKey cannot be null or empty. Parameter name: record"} @ at System.Data.Objects.ObjectContext.SaveChanges(SaveOptions options) at System.Data.Objects.ObjectContext.SaveChanges() In this simplified example I created two tables, Contacts and Employers, and one view Contacts_x_Employers which allows me to insert or retrieve rows into/from these two tables at once.     Is it allowed to reference external field from nested select? E.g. SELECT FROM ext1 LEFT JOIN (SELECT * FROM int2 WHERE int2.id = ext1.some_id ) as x ON 1=1 in this case, this is referencing ext1.some_id in nested select. I am getting errors in this case that field ext1.some_id is unknow. Is it possible? Is there some other way?

    ive checked out some of the other questions and obviously the best solution is to prevent the behavior that causes this issue in the first place, but the problem is very intermittent, and very un-reproduceable. I basically have a main form, with sub forms. The sub forms are shown from menus and/or buttons from the main form like so: private void myToolStripMenuItem_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { xDataForm.Show(); xDataForm.Activate(); } catch (ObjectDisposedException) { MessageBox.Show("ERROR 10103"); ErrorLogging newLogger = new ErrorLogging("10103"); Thread errorThread = new Thread(ErrorLogging.writeErrorToLog); errorThread.Start(); } } and the sub forms are actually in the main form(for better or worse. i would actually like to change this but would be a considerable amount of time to do so): public partial class FormMainScreen : Form { Form xDataForm = new xData(); ...(lots more here) public FormMainScreen(int pCount, string pName) { InitializeComponent(); ... } ... } The Dispose function for the sub form is modified so that, the 'close' and 'X' buttons actually hide the form so we dont have to re-create it every time. When the main screen closes, it sets a "flag" to 2, so the other forms know that it is actually ok to close; protected override void Dispose(bool disposing) { if (FormMainScreen.isExiting == 2) { if (disposing && (components != null)) { components.Dispose(); } base.Dispose(disposing); } else { if (xData.ActiveForm != null) { xData.ActiveForm.Hide(); } } } So, the question is, why would this work over and over and over again flawlessly, but, literally, about every 1/1000 of the time, cause an exception, or rather, why is my form being disposed? I had a suspicion that the garbage collector was getting confused, because it occurs slightly more frequently after it has been running for many hours.

  • Web reference problem on WCF

    I have a WCF service which I am able to connect to from my web application and get data. I now added a web reference to this wcf project to a wsdl file that a shipping company provides. Intention is to get shipping quotes.. I am able to access the objects that are generated from this wsdl file but when I call service.Authenticate("DEMO"); method almost nothing happens. I debug and see the debugger continue to the next lines but there is no change on service parameters and service.isauthorized is null..
