No IO exception reported for socket operation when the interface is removed

The wifi network is connected, the application setup a socket connection and exchange data with the remote server. But when turn off the wifi, the inteface is removed, while socket operation read/write on this socket is still like normal, no any IO exception reported. The application has to do some extra checking to avoid waiting for the data forever. Is this the normal case for Android design? Is there any plan to fix it?

em.createQuery keeps returning null

I have this application which i use JSF 2.0 and EclipseLink, i have entities created for a database made in MySQL, Created these entities using netbeans 7.1.2, it gets created automaticly. model.matrix() with na.action=NULL?

I have a formula and a data frame, and I want to extract the model.matrix(). However, I need the resulting matrix to include the NAs that were found in the original dataset. If I were to use model.frame() to do this, I would simply pass it na.action=NULL. However, the output I need is of the model.matrix() format. Specifically, I need only the right-hand side variables, I need the output to be a matrix (not a data frame), and I need factors to be converted to a series of dummy variables. I'm sure I could hack something together using loops or something, but I was wondering if anyone could suggest a cleaner and more efficient workaround. Thanks a lot for your time! Query Parameter Value Is Null When Enum Item 0 is Cast to Int32

When I use the first item in a zero-based Enum cast to Int32 as a query parameter, the parameter value is null. I've worked around it by simply setting the first item to a value of 1, but I was wondering though what's really going on here? This one has me scratching my head. Hello Iam working in a global int in which a variable will be used later. I've made the global variable like this: class Foo { public static int stream = Bass.BASS_StreamCreateFile(path1.Text, 0, 0, BASSFlag.BASS_DEFAULT); } which will be later called like this: Foo.stream and it can also contain more then 1 stream for example stream20,30,etc... The problem here is that it returns me this error: "An object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property" where I call the text in path1.Text How do I fix this?

But this is giving me only the customers who have any orders with late_days0, but the customers who does not have any late orders are not showing up. so if one customer has 5 orders with late payments then it is showing 5 for that customer, but if a customer have 0 late orders,that customer is not selected in this query. Is there any way to select all the customers , and if he has any late orders, it will show the number and also if he does not have any late orders, it will show 0.

I am programming a simple 2d game engine. I've decided how I'd like the engine to function: it will be composed of objects containing "events" that my main game loop will trigger when appropriate. A little more about the structure: Every GameObject has an updateEvent method. objectList is a list of all the objects that will receive update events. Only objects on this list have their updateEvent method called by the game loop. I’m trying to implement this method in the GameObject class (This specification is what I’d like the method to achieve): /** * This method removes a GameObject from objectList. The GameObject * should immediately stop executing code, that is, absolutely no more * code inside update events will be executed for the removed game object. * If necessary, control should transfer to the game loop. * @param go The GameObject to be removed */ public void remove(GameObject go) So if an object tries to remove itself inside of an update event, control should transfer back to the game engine: public void updateEvent() { //object's update event remove(this); System.out.println("Should never reach here!"); } Here’s what I have so far. It works, but the more I read about using exceptions for flow control the less I like it, so I want to see if there are alternatives. For the removal from the list itself, it is possible for one object to remove one that is farther down on the list. Currently I’m checking a removed flag before executing any code, and at the end of each pass removing the objects to avoid concurrent modification. Is there a better, preferably instant/non-polling way to do this?

Large memory chunk not garbage collected

In a hunt for a memory-leak in my app I chased down a behaviour I can't understand. I allocate a large memory block, but it doesn't get garbage-collected resulting in a OOM, unless I explicit null the reference in onDestroy. In this example I have two almost identical activities that switch between each others. Both have a single button. On pressing the button MainActivity starts OOMActivity and OOMActivity returns by calling finish(). After pressing the buttons a few times, Android throws a OOMException. If i add the the onDestroy to OOMActivity and explicit null the reference to the memory chunk, I can see in the log that the memory is correctly freed. Why doesn't the memory get freed automatically without the nulling? GAC Assembly Reference in App.Config (Console Applications)

I have a dll installed in GAC. I have not issues reading that assembly from asp.net applications the assembly reference i have done in web.config is able to refer to that assembly. But in the console application, when i put the below in the app.config file, the solution gets compiled, but i am not able to access the dll from program.cs file. Below is my app.config to refer to the dll in GAC. Please point to me what i am doing wrong.
