  I am going to create a network with one domain, e.g. example.com then going to manage my websites in folders. Look below for example: www.example.com/market www.example.com/freebies www.example.com/personalblog www.example.com/shop Consider that all four websites have different design and codes. From SEO perspective, is it recommended or I should use subdomains or buy four domains for each website?

• My events don't show up in the goal funnels or conversion funnels

  I have an event set up on a website and I'd like to track the effect this event has on conversion rate. The event seems to be working fine - I can see it on Top Events with all the labels, etc. But when going into Goal Flow and selecting 'Event Category' these events don't show up. I have this running for about a week. And I have made multiple checks to verify that I have events that triggered the conversion goal. Any clue about what I'm doing wrong?

  I have a node.js application running behind an Apache mod_rewrite proxy configured in a .htaccess file like this: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} =mydomain.com [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} =www.mydomain.com RewriteRule (.*) http://localhost:3000/$1 [QSA,P] When I now do a redirect (e.g. express' res.redirect()) inside my node.js application (which runs on port 3000), the user is always redirected to http://localhost:3000/ (which is in fact exactly what is defined above but not the desired behaviour). Is there any way around this?

• No date/time shown before my page in Google search results

  I know that by changing the meta description of my webpage, I can control the texts shown by Google in the search results. However I do not know how I can control the text shown just before the search results, for example the date when the page was last updated. Which meta tag to use to accomplish this? UPDATE: My webpage is automatically updated on a weekly basis on irregular intervals by a cronjob which makes changes to the MySQL database which holds the content of my webpages. So the question is what (meta) info to add to my page.

  On Google, if you search for "chana dal recipe," in the middle of the search results page you'll see one search result with an image of the meal, taken from the underlying web page. It's the only one. Did: A) Google someone magically isolate the one image on the web page which summarized the recipe, --or-- B) did the webmaster/page author somehow designate and promote that particular image so that Google would inline it in the search results?

• RewriteRule not working at server level?

  I wanted to forbid some robots from doing certain things to my websites and decided to add a RewriteRule for that purpose. The rule works when put in one of my <VirtualHost *:80> tag and looks like this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} libwww-perl RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} POST RewriteRule . - [F,L] However, I wanted to apply that to all my websites instead of just one of them. So with the newest version of Apache2 settings, I decided to put that code in the security.conf file. This file is defined under /etc/apache2/conf-available/... (and yes, I have a softlink from the /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/... directory.) However, if the definition is only in the conf-available/security.conf files, it somehow gets ignored. From the documentation, it says that these Rewrite* commands all work at server level! Any idea of what I would be missing?

  I want to implement a system where customers can buy physical products as subscription with recurring billing. Customers will come to my site, visit product page and buy stuff. They need to register an account before purchasing. After registration they will be forwarded to payment processor for payment and after successful payment they will be returned back to my site. Requirement: I dont want to use Paypal as a payment processor. It will be recurring payment on monthly, quarterly, bi-annual or annual basis. Customers can login to my site in order to view their Order History, Profile Management and can edit their Billing and/or Shipping details. Customers can cancel their Subscription any time after login to their account on my site. Plan: Currently I am using wordpress with WooCommerce plugin for eCommerce functionality. I am planning to use Amazon as a payment processor. I have searched WooCommerce Extension Drectory and found WC Subscription extension that can be used for my site. But I just confirmed from the Support WC Subscription only support recurring payment with Paypal and Stripe, no other payment processor is supported at the moment. Questions: According to my need, what will be the best solution? I am open to switch the platform from Wordpress to something else that can fulfill my requirement.

  We have a global site, all hosted on one .com domain (www.website.com/en www.website.com/es www.website.com/pt www.website.com/ru etc) each language sub directory is identical to one another (apart from being in different languages) My question is, should I translate each meta keyword for each page or just use the english versions? e.g. English page about private jets : keyword "private jet" French version of exactly the same page : keyword "private jet" or "jet privé" If anyone knows whether language specific keywords carry any weight in search engines when the actual website is a .com and not a country specific domain, that would be really helpful! • Spam link text when searching for company directors' name

  It was brought to my attention that if you search for the name of one of our directors (with the intent to find there profile page on our site) They come up as the first link in most search engines as you would expect but the link text is just pure spam. the three search string I have tested on Google, Bing, Ask, and Yahoo have all returned similar results.   Our website is set up to direct all traffic for www.example.com to example.com with a line in the htaccess file. With google analytics new in page analytics feature we are thinking of removing the line and allowing people to visit www.example.com as well to play with the new features. My question is this. How will this change affect our analytics data. -will nothing change and we can start using the new feature with our existing data -Are the two domains tracked separately and we will have to start over with www.example .com Any help would be great, as I can find nothing on googles help site covering this. It seems that my title tag which holds extremely valuable and describes contents on my simple design page is currently compeltely denied by search engines and not indexed at all!! Those descriptions should however be indexed as the describe valuable portions to an otherwise empty page with clean glossary (thats neat and organised to the eye of the viewer. So putting all that descriptive data into visible space would ruin the designish less is more fundamental... So, which alternatives to the title tag do I have, in order to put important contents that are relevant for both user as well as search engines? A <a name="">......</> B <p name="">......</> C <a alt="">.......</> D <p alt="">.......</> From the above list, arose my question: Which of the above is advisable alternative in order to get the valuable actual content indexed? Should it be in a a tag or p tag? Or are there even better tags for this which still keep layout clean? You suggestions are Much appreciated!

  We have a website which we want to show adverts in - However, these are custom adverts uploaded by the webmaster, not the Google adverts, or any adverts the network chooses. Ideally, there would be both options. We were considering developing our own advert-management system, but looking at the big picture, it might be better to consider other alternatives. Website is currently developed in C# / ASP.Net (Web Forms) Are there any recommendations to some open-source delivery networks and/or external hosted advert delivery networks? Personally I've used Google's DFP, however sometimes it is not so easy to get a Google AdSense account approved, especially while developing a new website and it not yet being launched. Not sure if this is the best place to ask this kind of question!

• How long does it take for Google to re-index pages or update the link titles?

  On one of our classified sites, when doing site:[mysite.com] in Google, the link text is simply [product name] - [mysite.com], where as it should read [product name] classifieds for sale in... I suspect that the site map may have been submitted when we just had [product name], and updated the page titles later. However, it has been a couple of weeks that I have confirmed the longer page titles, and still they appear shortened in organic results. How can I get this looking right in Google's organic results?

  I have a survey with the following form fields: Country Age Male/Female Undergraduate/Graduate Question? Yes No If No, what about this and that? Yes No Google Forms and SurveyMonkey don't seem to allow things like the above. For question one I could ask, "What country are you from?" with a textbox as an answer section and work around it. But how do I go about creating questions five and six? I am not able to figure out how to do it except for having one more question that says "If your answer to the previous question was No, then blah blah (else skip this question)".   We do a lot of mass emailing of our contacts to promote events, send out newsletters, etc. Some people read and react, some people unsubscribe, but I fear that some might actually mark the email as spam. Is there any way to figure out whether my domain has been added to email blacklists or spam registries? Also, if I use a service like MailChimp to send the emails, how would this work? If one unscrupulous customer was using MailChimp for evil, wouldn't it affect all of their customers?

• Why does PHP create these log entries on every page access?

  My server's error log (in cPanel) has an entry for every single time a PHP page is loaded that looks like this (where 'username' has been substituted for my actual username): [2012-06-09 09:02:07]: info: [usr/grp]: username/username cmd: /home/username/public_html/error.php php: /usr/local/php53/bin/php I know it's only an 'info' message but it's filling up my error log. It can't be related to the content of my PHP files because it even happens when I load a page with this as its content: <?php phpinfo(); ?> Any ideas on what it means or if I can get rid of it?

I want to block certain bots via robots.txt and I am confused as to which part of the User-Agent string to use, especially for more obscure bots.
