    Is it possible to get the currently logged in user's username with Silverlight? You can assume that user has Windows OS and the Silverlight application is hosted in Internet Explorer. Getting the identity from server side with ASP.NET is not an option, this SL application will be hosted on a static HTML file.

  • Spawning in Rails

    Hello, I was using the spawn plugin (http://rubyforge.org/projects/spawn/) which worked excellent. However, I then moved to Mongo (using mongo_mapper) and Spawn no longer worked. Modifying the plugin is beyond the scope of my abilities. Is there a simple way to do spawning in Rails that would work with Mongo? It's not an often-run process so it doesn't have to be the most elegant solution in the world. Thanks!

    I've followed the GAE docs on setting up one-to-many relationship in JDO but I'm still having trouble in retrieving the collection data back. I have no problem getting the other non-collection fields back. I have used the following to set the auth cookie, //set forms auth cookie FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(strUserName, true); But when i check HttpContext.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated, it returns false. How to set an auth cookie in OnAuthorization of custom attribute?

They are both wordpress 2.8.6 (so they have exactly the same source code, plugins apart) but they are located on two different hosting platform (hostmonster.com and aruba.it). Naturally there are different PHP and Apache versions on the servers... what can I check or set to diagnose and resolve the problem ? By the way I don't want the BOM. Many thanks in advance.

  • Accidental Complexity in OpenSSL HMAC functions

    SSL Documentation Analaysis This question is pertaining the usage of the HMAC routines in OpenSSL. Since Openssl documentation is a tad on the weak side in certain areas, profiling has revealed that using the: unsigned char *HMAC(const EVP_MD *evp_md, const void *key, int key_len, const unsigned char *d, int n, unsigned char *md, unsigned int *md_len); From here, shows 40% of my library runtime is devoted to creating and taking down **HMAC_CTX's behind the scenes. There are also two additional function to create and destroy a HMAC_CTX explicetly: HMAC_CTX_init() initialises a HMAC_CTX before first use. It must be called. HMAC_CTX_cleanup() erases the key and other data from the HMAC_CTX and releases any associated resources. It must be called when an HMAC_CTX is no longer required. These two function calls are prefixed with: The following functions may be used if the message is not completely stored in memory My data fits entirely in memory, so I choose the HMAC function -- the one whose signature is shown above. The context, as described by the man page, is made use of by using the following two functions: HMAC_Update() can be called repeatedly with chunks of the message to be authenticated (len bytes at data). HMAC_Final() places the message authentication code in md, which must have space for the hash function output. The Scope of the Application My application generates a authentic (HMAC, which is also used a nonce), CBC-BF encrypted protocol buffer string. The code will be interfaced with various web-servers and frameworks Windows / Linux as OS, nginx, Apache and IIS as webservers and Python / .NET and C++ web-server filters. The description above should clarify that the library needs to be thread safe, and potentially have resumeable processing state -- i.e., lightweight threads sharing a OS thread (which might leave thread local memory out of the picture). The Question How do I get rid of the 40% overhead on each invocation in a (1) thread-safe / (2) resume-able state way ? (2) is optional since I have all of the source-data present in one go, and can make sure a digest is created in place without relinquishing control of the thread mid-digest-creation. So, (1) can probably be done using thread local memory -- but how do I resuse the CTX's ? does the HMAC_final() call make the CTX reusable ?. (2) optional: in this case I would have to create a pool of CTX's. (3) how does the HMAC function do this ? does it create a CTX in the scope of the function call and destroy it ? Psuedocode and commentary will be useful.

    I'm trying to build an JEE6-application on Glassfish V3, using JSF 2.0, Weld, JPA2 and Maven. Now i'm having trouble getting a simple <a4j:support> running. This is the fragment of my little example. When typing something into the inputtext, the outputtext should automatically be updated. But nothing happens (not in Firefox, not in IE8). <ui:composition xmlns:a4j="https://ajax4jsf.dev.java.net/ajax" (...)> <h:inputText value="#{personHome.message}"> <a4j:support event="onkeyup" reRender="repeater"/> </h:inputText> <h:outputText id="repeater" value="#{personHome.message}"/> Beside that my example doesn't work, my problem is also that i don't really understand if i need a JSF implementation (MyFaces, Richfaces, Primefaces etc.) or not to use a4j elements. Is it "built-in" in glassfish?     As we can execute such executables in two ways, such as "sudo mono test.exe", and "mono test.exe". Now I want to know how to detect whether this application is running as root inside the application itself. I tried to check user name like below and see whether they equal to "root", Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity.Name Process.GetCurrentProcess().StartInfo.UserName AppDomain.CurrentDomain.ApplicationIdentity.FullName The first two are empty strings always, while the third throws NullReferenceException. Please advise if this is doable on Mono 2.6.

  • Disable auto-indent certain items in Visual Studio 2005?

    I don't mind most of the way that VS2005 auto-indents (or auto-formats) my C++ code, but certain items I don't want it to automatically indent. Like #define statements for example. It takes them and shoves them all the way to the left side of the screen, no matter how deep into my scope I type them. That's really really annoying. Is there someway to alter this behavior, besides completely disabling auto-indent/format?

    I have a WCF service that takes a stream: [ServiceContract] public class UploadService : BaseService { [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(BodyStyle=WebMessageBodyStyle.Bare, Method=WebRequestMethods.Http.Post)] public void Upload(Stream data) { // etc. } } This method is to allow my Silverlight application to upload large binary files, the easiest way being to craft the HTTP request by hand from the client.     How do I pass the identity of the logged on user in an a webapplication to a service beeing called by the webserver? My idea her is to set som kind of EndpointIdentity on the cahnnel. In my case this will be an GUID identifing the user's session on the webserver. Anyone got any exprience on this.. Maybe I have misunderstood the concept? Any idea's or links would be apriciated.

If the XML returned is 5 kb then it is working fine, but if the size is 450kb or above it is displaying the error. Below is my code as well as the config file that resides at the client system. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Update 11/20/2011 Thinking it might be something wrong with my RSA-SHA signing, I have since tried HMAC-SHA. It gives the same results. I thought it might be beneficial to include the Fiddler results (I added carriage returns to have it format better).     I have a UserControl in which a FlowLayoutPanel. This user control consist of a description and some controls: [descr.] 123456789, it should be able to be reversed 987654321 [descr.] So FlowLayoutPanel is used for this scope(RightToLeft - True/False). Is this a way that the label1 fill the rest of the control(to left or right respectively)?
