  • CakePHP with AJAX loaded pages

    Hi there. I am trying to create a website in which all interaction takes place on a single page which has its main content filled via AJAX. The site is effectively a template with a central interaction area. Users can click links which results in an AJAX request to fetch a new page to display in the interaction area. In this way, the page never refreshes, instead it has its content fetched and displayed via AJAX. I have found that the CakePHP framework has many useful features that could work with this project, however, I do not no if the Cake's MVC architecture would work with my single page architecture. So, what I really want to know is if I can use CakePHP features and functions on a website of this type, and also if anyone could give me any helpful tips on how I would go about implementing it. I am sorry if this is rambling or vague, english is not my mother tongue so I have trouble expressing what I have to say clearly. Thank you for your time.

  • Setting treeview background color in VB6 has a flaw - help?

    I have successfully implemented this method of using the Win32 API to set the background color of a treeview in VB 6: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/178491 However, one thing goes wrong: when you expand the tree nodes more than two levels deep, the area to the left of (and sometimes under) the inner plus [+] and minus [-] signs is still white. Does anyone know how to get this area to the correct background color, too? Note: I'm also setting the BackColor of each node, and also the BackColor of the treeview's imagelist.   • DIV overlap on top of submit order INPUT button not working right in IE7

    I created a test account at www.avaline.com: username: [email protected] pass:test02 I'll keep the account around so you can see what's going on with this submit button without going through the registration process (and needing to fill in a fake address, etc). If logging in doesn't work, you can create your own test account though. Make sure at least one item is in your shopping cart, hit "proceed to checkout", and check off "PayPal" as your payment method (this way the payment won't go through for testing purposes). Once you're on the "review and submit" page, in IE7 (at least), hover over the "pay with Paypal" button, and you'll see that the cursor is a hand when you hover over the text or the button border, but it's a regular arrow when you hover over the button part. If you try clicking on the arrow-cursor area, you'll get the error that you should see...but if you click on the hand-cursor area, you get redirected to the paypal page. In FF, the #hidSubm DIV covers the "Pay with Paypal" button. Why isn't it working in IE7?

  • Reading custom values in Ebay RSS feed (XML::RSS module)

    I've spent entirely way too long trying to figure this out. I'm using XML:RSS and Perl to read / parse an Ebay RSS feed. Within the area, I see these entries: 1395 1255 However, I can't figure out how to grab the details during the loop. I wrote a regex to grab them: @current_price = $item =~ m/\(\d+)\<\/rx\:CurrentPrice/g; which works if you place the above 'CurrentPrice' entry into a standalone string, but not while the script is reading through the RSS feed. I can grab most of the information I want out of the item-description area (# bids, auction end time, BIN price, thumbnail image, etc), but it would be nicer if I could grab the info from the feed without me having to deal with grabbing all that information manually. If anybody knows how to grab custom fields from an RSS feed (short of writing regexes to parse the entire feed w/o a module), any help / insight would be appreciated.

  • Programmatically retrieve disconnected network adapter information in .NET

    I have an application written in C# that needs to retrieve information like IP address, subnet mask from a disconnected network adapter. I've tried using various methods such as WMI and the .NET NetworkAdapter class but they don't return any useful data when the network adapter is disconnected. I'm pretty sure Windows keeps this information somewhere, since I can apply network settings using netsh and it appears correctly in the Control Panel. One thing that worked for me in XP was to parse the output of the netsh tool and it would return information even for a disconnected adapter. However, this doesn't seem to work on Windows 7. Win XP output: Configuration for interface "Local Area Connection 5" DHCP enabled: No IP Address: 169.254.0.128 SubnetMask: 255.255.255.0 InterfaceMetric: 0 Win7 output: Configuration for interface "Local Area Connection 2" DHCP enabled: No InterfaceMetric: 5 Any ideas?

  • OpenCL or OpenGL – which one to use?

    My Problem involves a black and white image with a black area in the middle. I never worked with OpenGL or OpenCL before so I do not know which one to chose. I want to put some white circles over the area and check at the end whether the whole image is white. I will try many combinations so I want to use the GPU because of its parallelism. Should I use OpenGL and create the circle as a texture and put it on top of the image or should I write some OpenCL kernels which work on the pixel/entries in the matrix?

  • Defaultifempty seems to work in linq to entities

    I'm new to linq and linq to entities so I might have gone wrong in my assumptions, but I've been unknowingly trying to use DefaultIfEmpty in L2E. For some reason if I turn the resultset into a List, the Defaultifempty() works I don't know if I've inadvertantly crossed over into Linq area. The code below works, can anyone tell me why?   • HTML table headers always visible at top of window when viewing a large table

    I would like to be able to "tweak" an HTML table's presentation to add a single feature: when scrolling down through the page so that the table is on the screen but the header rows are off-screen, I would like the headers to remain visible at the top of the viewing area. This would be conceptually like the "freeze panes" feature in Excel. However, an HTML page might contain several tables in it and I only would want it to happen for the table that is currently in-view, only while it is in-view. Note: I've seen one solution where the table data area is made scrollable while the headers do not scroll. That's not the solution I'm looking for.

  • Soft Shadows in Raytracing 3D to 2D

    Hello: I wish to implement soft shadows produced by area lights in my raytracer. I'm having trouble generating the random samples. So I have a scene in which I have an area light (represented as a circle) whose world (x,y,z) coordinates of the center are given, the radius is given, the normal of the plane on which the circle lies is given, as well as the color and attenuation factors. The sampling scheme I wish to use is the following: generate samples on the quadrilateral that encompasses the circle and discard points outside the circle until the required number of samples within the circle have been found. I'm having trouble understanding how I can transform the 3D coordinates of the center of the circle to its 2D representation (I don't think I can assume that the projection of the circle is on the x-y axis and thus just get rid of the z-component). I think the plane normal information should be used but I'm not sure how. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

    I am trying to trying to export a client certificate for use with a web browser. The goal is to restrict access using the <Location directive to the admin area. I have seen numerous tutorials on using self signed CAs. How would you do this using a third party? 1) Do I need to include the CA in the client pfx if it is a trusted root CA? I have seen both examples. Without CA: openssl pkcs12 -export -inkey KEYFILENAME -in CERTFILEFILENAME -out XXX.pfx With CA: openssl pkcs12 -export -in my.crt- inkey my.key -certfile my.bundle -out my.pfx 2) Do I need to still include SSLCACertificateFile for trusted CA in the httpd.conf setup?     I am developing a control that is a rectangle area and will draw an ellipse in the rectangle area when a trigger occurs. This control will be able to host other controls like, textbox's, buttons, etc. so the circle will be drawn around them when triggered. I want the circle being drawn as an animation like you were circling the inner controls with a pen. My question is whats the best way to accomplish this. I've been doing some research and I could use WPF animation or I could use GDI+ to accomplish the tasks. I am new to WPF animation so that is why I am asking the question.

  • CurvyCorners in Wordpress Theme only rounds some corners in IE - what am I doing wrong?

    Hi, I'm implementing the CurvyCorners script on a blog I'm developing. The script works in IE on some parts of the blog, but not others.   • ASP.NET MVC 2 Areas 404

    Hey, Has anyone been able to get the Areas in ASP.NET MVC 2 to work? I created a new Area called "Secure" and placed a new controller in it named HomeController. I then Created a new Home/Index.aspx view. However, when I browse to http://localhost/myapp/Secure/ it gives a 404 resource cannot be found. http://localhost/myapp/Secure/Home gives the same error. My area registration looks like this: public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Secure_default", "Secure/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } I also tried this: public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Secure_default", "Secure/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } Thanks, Justin

  • jList in Scrollpane, seeking and displaying value of selectedIndex

    I have a JList inside a Scrollpane. If you click on the list and move the arrow keys up and down it works like you expect, you can move your selection index and display around just fine. Now, what I want to do is basically have a text box and i'm typing in the text box like "comic" and want it to seek to the index of that value. This WORKS just fine. Where the problem is when the value of the list box is below, or above the viewable area. When it is, the selected index seeks, but does not change the position of the scrollable region. However, if I press the up or down arrows and requestFocus() to the list, and move up and down it seeks to the right viewable area. What am I missing to make this happen WITHOUT changing focus. I want to be able to just type in the list all I want and have it show me what is selected. I feel i'm missing something obvious here.

  • FLex MouseEvent doesn't fire when Mouse stays over element

    Hi, i'm trying to make a scrollable box, when a mouse enters and STAYS on "wrapper"'s area, "pubsBox" moves 10 pixels to the left. <mx:Canvas id="wrapper" height="80" width="750"> <mx:HBox id="pubsBox" horizontalGap="10" height="80" width="100%" /> </mx:Canvas> My problem is that I'm not sure how to make the MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER work, to recognize that the mouse is still ON the area and so pubsBox should continue to move 10 pixels to the left every second. I understand that i have to use a Timer, but what I'm concerned about is the fact that I can't get Flex to recognize that the mouse is still OVER "wrapper" and continue firing the event. Any ideas?

This compiles ok recordList = recordList.Where(r => r.Areas.Where(a => a.Area == "Z").Count() > 0); but this doesn't recordList = recordList.Where(r => r.Areas.Where(a => a.Area <= "Z").Count() > 0); giving these errors Cannot convert lambda expression to type 'string' because it is not a delegate type Delegate 'System.Func' does not take '1' arguments Operator '<=' cannot be applied to operands of type 'string' and 'string' != works ok, by any sort of less than or greater than operation fails.
