    Hi, I just familiarise myself with the CLLocationManager and found several sample class definitions that contain the following init method: - (id) init { self = [super init]; if (self != nil) { self.locationManager = [[[CLLocationManager alloc] init] autorelease]; self.locationManager.delegate = self; } return self; } - (void)dealloc { [self.locationManager release]; [super dealloc]; } I don't understand why the iVar would be autoreleased. Does this not mean it is deallocated at the end of the init method? I am also puzzled to see the same sample codes have the iVar release in the dealloc method. Any thoughts? '

I would like an application which would use a reference list like this, and show me the carrier name and the area of origin along with the number on screen. Mobile make : Sony Ericsson Model : C902 Operating System: Propreitary J2ME: MIDP 2.0 Here are my questions: Is it possible to do something like this? I have installed a lot of java apps on my mobile, and all of them have to be launched seperately, can be run in the background, but they never seem to access anything native. If it is possible, which area of J2Me should I start with, for creating an application that achieves the above requirement? If it is not possbile, what are my alternatives?

(It Should Look Something Like "SELECT District FROM City WHERE Name='Simi Valley';") I already realize that in this simplistic case it would be very easy to simply reconstruct the query... but how can I access it in a general way that will work for very complicated prepared statements, and cases where I don't necessarily already understand the intended structure of the query, etc. Isn't there some function or method that can be called on the statement object that will return the actual text of the SQL query, after binding?

Right now when I click the "Finish" button, facebook permissions dialogue is initiated but before I am prompted for the actual permission submission window, the browser freezes. Just like I have pressed Esc during the process. In fact status bar of the browser says "Stopped". Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi, Background - I need a framework/approach to managed database updates for a .NET Winforms app being deployed on users PC's via clickonce deploy. The app uses a sqlite database. Q1. What mechanism does Subsonic use to run such migrations on the local PC? e.g. would it be MSBuild Q2. If it does need a tool like how can my application robustly kick off MsBuild? i.e. how can it be sure what path it is installed, what if it is not installed, should I be including the MSBuild.exe in the clickonce package so that I know it is there for sure myself? Q3. Any other suggestions on how to use Subsonic in this specific use case? Q4. Any comments on whether MigratorDotNet would be a better fit? (if someone has had experience with both) Q5. Could I use subsonic's bare migration framework and just have a set of SQL files to do the upgrade/downgrade? i.e. just use the framework to check database version and which scripts to run etc?

I read about the 'if' attribute but am unsure what expression to use with it, as ${file::exists('*.cs')} does not work. The build script is a template for Umbraco (a CMS) projects and may or may not ever have .cs source files in the project. Ideally I would like to not have developers need to remember to modify the NAnt script to include the compile task when .cs files are added to the project (or exclude it when all .cs files are removed).

The list is a dynamic array. And the Replace statements are also dynamic. I just simulated them as objects here for fitting them in the Regex Statement. Thanks in Advance.

    I know to never trust user input, since undesirable input could be compromise the application's integrity in some way, be it accidental or intentional; however, is there a case for calling Page.IsValid even when no validation controls are on the page (again, I know its bad practice to be trusting user input by omitting validation)? Does Page.IsValid perform any other kinds of validation? I looked at MSDN, and the docs seem to suggest that Page.IsValid is only effective if there are validation controls on the page, or the Page.Validate method has been called. A friend of mine suggested that I always check Page.IsValid in the button click handlers every time even if there are no validation controls or explicit Page.Validate calls. Thanks for any advice!

I use jquery's ajaxForm() function to re-direct the user to a different jsp after the Servlet logic is executed. But before this redirection happens I need to show a javascript notification showing whether the submission was successful or not. Can someone tell me how can I do this?

I am using the Flurry SDK for analytics and want to use the [FlurryAPI logEvent:@"EVENT_NAME"]; method to track events. Is there a way to do this in Javascript?     Hi, After writing deployment scripts from within the ISE, we need our CI server to be able to run them automatically, i.e. from the command line or via a batch file. I have notice some significant differences between the following calls: powershell.exe -File Script.ps1 powershell.exe -Command "& '.\Script.ps1'" powershell.exe .\Script.ps1 Some simple examples: When using -File, errors are handled in the exact same way as the ISE. The other two calls seem to ignore the $ErrorActionPreference variable, and do not catch Write-Error in try/catch blocks. When using pSake: The last 2 calls work perfectly Using the ISE or the -File parameter will fail with the following error: The variable '$script:context' cannot be retrieved because it has not been set Could someone help me understand the implications of each syntax, and why they are behaving differently? I would ideally like to find a syntax that works all the time and behaves like the ISE. Thanks, Romain

    I'm trying to validate my understanding of C++ destructors. I've read many times that C++ supplies a default destructor if I don't write one myself. But does this mean that if I DO write a destructor that the compiler WON'T still provide the default cleanup of stack-allocated class fields? My hunch is that the only sane behavior would be that all class fields are destroyed no matter what, whether I provide my own destructor or not. In which case the statement I've read so many times is actually a little misleading and could be better stated as: "Whether or not you write your own destructor, the C++ compiler always writes a default destructor-like sequence to deallocate the member variables of your class. You may then specify additional deallocations or other tasks as needed by defining your own destructor" Is this correct?
