  • plot negative and positive values in same Y-axis in coreplot ios

    - by user3774439
    I have an issue in converting axis labels to int or float values. This is my Y-Axis. It contains temperature values contains -50, 33, 117, 200. CPTXYAxis *y = axisSet.yAxis; y.labelingPolicy = CPTAxisLabelingPolicyNone; y.orthogonalCoordinateDecimal = CPTDecimalFromUnsignedInteger(1); y.majorGridLineStyle = majorGridLineStyle; y.minorGridLineStyle = minorGridLineStyle; y.minorTicksPerInterval = 0.0; y.labelOffset = 0.0; y.title = @""; y.titleOffset = 0.0; NSMutableSet *yLabels = [NSMutableSet setWithCapacity:4]; NSMutableSet *yLocations = [NSMutableSet setWithCapacity:4]; NSArray *yAxisLabels = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"-50", @"33", @"117", @"200", nil]; NSNumberFormatter * nFormatter = [[NSNumberFormatter alloc] init]; [nFormatter setNumberStyle:NSNumberFormatterDecimalStyle]; for ( NSUInteger i = 0; i < [yAxisLabels count]; i++ ) { NSLog(@"%@",[yAxisLabels objectAtIndex:i]); CPTAxisLabel *label = [[CPTAxisLabel alloc] initWithText:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",[yAxisLabels objectAtIndex:i]] textStyle:axisTextStyle]; label.tickLocation = CPTDecimalFromUnsignedInteger(i); label.offset = y.majorTickLength; if (label) { [yLabels addObject:label]; [yLocations addObject:[NSDecimalNumber numberWithUnsignedInteger:i]]; } label = nil; } y.axisLabels = yLabels; y.majorTickLocations = yLocations; y.labelFormatter = nFormatter; Now, my issue is.. I am getting data from the BLE device as temperature values as strings like 50, 60.3, etc... Now I want plot these values from BLE device with the Y-axis values. i am unable convert these Y-axis labels to temperature values. Could you please help me guys...I have tried many time still no luck. Please help me UPDATE:: This is the way I am creating scatterplot: -(void)createScatterPlotsWithIdentifier:(NSString *)identifier color:(CPTColor *)color forGraph:(CPTGraph *)graph forXYPlotSpace:(CPTXYPlotSpace *)plotSpace{ CPTScatterPlot *scatterPlot = [[CPTScatterPlot alloc] init]; scatterPlot.dataSource = self; scatterPlot.identifier = identifier; //Plot a graph with in the plotspace [plotSpace scaleToFitPlots:[NSArray arrayWithObjects:scatterPlot, nil]]; plotSpace.xRange = [CPTPlotRange plotRangeWithLocation:CPTDecimalFromUnsignedInteger(0) length:CPTDecimalFromUnsignedInteger(30)]; plotSpace.yRange = [CPTPlotRange plotRangeWithLocation:CPTDecimalFromUnsignedInteger(-50) length:CPTDecimalFromUnsignedInteger(250)]; CPTMutablePlotRange *xRange = [[self getCoreplotSpace].xRange mutableCopy]; [xRange expandRangeByFactor:CPTDecimalFromCGFloat(-1)]; [self getCoreplotSpace].xRange = xRange; CPTMutableLineStyle *scatterLineStyle = [scatterPlot.dataLineStyle mutableCopy]; scatterLineStyle.lineWidth = 1; scatterLineStyle.lineColor = color; scatterPlot.dataLineStyle = scatterLineStyle; CPTMutableLineStyle *scatterSymbolLineStyle = [CPTMutableLineStyle lineStyle]; scatterSymbolLineStyle.lineColor = color; CPTPlotSymbol *scatterSymbol = [CPTPlotSymbol ellipsePlotSymbol]; scatterSymbol.fill = [CPTFill fillWithColor:color]; scatterSymbol.lineStyle = scatterSymbolLineStyle; scatterSymbol.size = CGSizeMake(2.0f, 2.0f); scatterPlot.plotSymbol = scatterSymbol; [graph addPlot:scatterPlot toPlotSpace:plotSpace]; } Configuring the Y-axis like this: NSMutableSet *yLabels = [NSMutableSet setWithCapacity:4]; NSMutableSet *yLocations = [NSMutableSet setWithCapacity:4]; NSArray *yAxisLabels = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"-50", @"33", @"117", @"200", nil]; NSArray *customTickLocations = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:[NSDecimalNumber numberWithUnsignedInt:-50], [NSDecimalNumber numberWithInt:33], [NSDecimalNumber numberWithInt:117], [NSDecimalNumber numberWithInt:200],nil]; for ( NSUInteger i = 0; i < [yAxisLabels count]; i++ ) { NSLog(@"%@",[yAxisLabels objectAtIndex:i]); CPTAxisLabel *label = [[CPTAxisLabel alloc] initWithText:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",[yAxisLabels objectAtIndex:i]] textStyle:axisTextStyle]; label.tickLocation = CPTDecimalFromInteger([[customTickLocations objectAtIndex:i] integerValue]); label.offset = y.majorTickLength; if (label) { [yLabels addObject:label]; [yLocations addObject:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d",[[customTickLocations objectAtIndex:i] integerValue]]]; } label = nil; } y.axisLabels = yLabels; y.majorTickLocations = [NSSet setWithArray:customTickLocations]; Eric, I set the range as you said in CreateSctterPlot method. But In horizontal line on graph are not coming. Could you please help me what I am wrong. Thanks

  • Odd values/movement with UITouch and CGPoint.

    - by Joshua
    I'm getting odd numbers from UITouch and CGPoint and one is different, I also think this maybe causing a flickering affect in my app when I try to move something by following a touch. This is the code I'm using: - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { NSLog(@"touchDown"); UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; firstTouch = [touch locationInView:self.view]; if (CGRectContainsPoint(but.frame, firstTouch)) { butContains = YES; NSLog(@"butContains = %d", butContains); } } - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; currentTouch = [touch locationInView:self.view]; NSInteger x = currentTouch.x; NSInteger y = currentTouch.y; CGFloat CGX = (CGFloat)x; CGFloat CGY = (CGFloat)y; if (butContains == YES) { NSLog(@"touch in subView/contentView"); sub.frame = CGRectMake(CGX, CGY, 130.0, 21.0); } NSLog(@"touch moved"); } - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; currentTouch = [touch locationInView:self.view]; NSLog(@"User tapped at %@", NSStringFromCGPoint(currentTouch)); NSLog(@"Point %a, %a", currentTouch.x, currentTouch.y); NSInteger x = currentTouch.x; NSInteger y = currentTouch.y; NSLog(@"Point %a, %a", y, x); CGFloat CGX = (CGFloat)x; CGFloat CGY = (CGFloat)y; NSLog(@"Point %g, %g", CGX, CGY); if (butContains == YES) { NSLog(@"touch in subView/contentView"); sub.frame = CGRectMake(CGX, CGY, 130.0, 21.0); } butContains = NO; NSLog(@"touch ended"); } - (IBAction)add:(id)sender{ InSightViewController *contentView = [[InSightViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SubView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [contentView loadView]; [self.view insertSubview:contentView.view atIndex:0]; } This is what I get from the touchesEnded method in the Debugger. 2010-04-20 20:06:13.045 InSight[25042:207] User tapped at {50, 78} 2010-04-20 20:06:13.047 InSight[25042:207] Point 0x1.9p+5, 0x1.38p+6 2010-04-20 20:06:13.048 InSight[25042:207] Point 0x1.900000027p-1037, 0x1.38p+6 2010-04-20 20:06:13.048 InSight[25042:207] Point 50, 78 And this is what's happening in the Simulator. fwdr.org/file:y8bd As this is a complicated problem this is the source code of my XCode Project aswell. http://cl.ly/Qjj

  • How do i rotate a CALayer around a diagonal axis?

    - by Mattias Wadman
    Hi, im trying to implement a flip animation to be used in board game like application. The animation is suppose to look like a game piece that rotate and change to the color of its back. I have managed to get a animation that flips around orthogonal axis, but when i try to flip around a diagonal axis by changing the rotation around the z-axis not surprisingly the actual image also gets rotated. Instead i would like to rotate the image as it is around a diagonal axis. I have tried to change layer.sublayerTransform but with no success. Here is the current implementation. It works by doing a trick to resolve the issue of getting a mirrored image at the end of the animation. The solution is to not actually rotate the layer 180 degrees, instead it rotates it 90 degrees, changes image and then rotates it back. + (void)flipLayer:(CALayer *)layer toImage:(CGImageRef)image withAngle:(double)angle { const float duration = 0.5f; CAKeyframeAnimation *diag = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.z"]; diag.duration = duration; diag.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:angle], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; diag.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:1.0f], nil]; diag.calculationMode = kCAAnimationDiscrete; CAKeyframeAnimation *flip = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.y"]; flip.duration = duration; flip.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:M_PI / 2], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; flip.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.5f], [NSNumber numberWithDouble:1.0f], nil]; flip.calculationMode = kCAAnimationLinear; CAKeyframeAnimation *replace = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"contents"]; replace.duration = duration / 2; replace.beginTime = duration / 2; replace.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:(id)image, nil]; replace.keyTimes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithDouble:0.0f], nil]; replace.calculationMode = kCAAnimationDiscrete; CAAnimationGroup *group = [CAAnimationGroup animation]; group.removedOnCompletion = NO; group.duration = duration; group.timingFunction = [CAMediaTimingFunction functionWithName:kCAMediaTimingFunctionLinear]; group.animations = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:diag, flip, replace, nil]; group.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; [layer addAnimation:group forKey:nil]; }

  • iPhone UISearchBar animated to top

    - by hurley scott
    There are lots of apps where the searchbar moves upwards if active and moves down when it is inactive. There is a sample code from apple available which works with IB, but how can I achieve this behavior programmatically? Mostly it is combined with a navigationbar which moves out of the screen in replace with the searchbar

  • CoreData many-to-many relationship NSPredicate Exceptions

    - by user307550
    I'm trying to model a Person/Team relationship. It's a many to many relationship since a person can belong to multiple teams and a team can have multiple people. As suggested by the doc I created an intermediate entity called TeamMember. I am now trying to run a query to see if I have a list of people, whether a pre-existing Team already exists for them so I'm not storing duplicate Teams in the database NSFetchRequest *request = [[[NSFetchRequest alloc] init] autorelease]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Team" inManagedObjectContext:[pm managedObjectContext]]; [request setEntity:entity]; NSPredicate *predicate = nil; predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ALL %K IN %@", @"teamMembers.person", players]; players is an NSSet of people that I'm trying to search I'm getting the following exception: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'Unsupported predicate ALL teamMembers.person IN { (entity: Person; id: 0x1334470 ; data: { Ideally I would like them to match exactly and not just do an IN as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • How to specify selector when CAKeyframeAnimation is finished?

    - by darenchow
    I'm using a CAKeyframeAnimation to animate a view along a CGPath. When the animation is done, I'd like to be able to call some other method to perform another action. Is there a good way to do this? I've looked at using UIView's setAnimationDidStopSelector:, however from the docs this looks like it only applies when used within a UIView animation block (beginAnimations and commitAnimations). I also gave it a try just in case, but it doesn't seem to work. Here's some sample code (this is within a custom UIView sub-class method): // These have no effect since they're not in a UIView Animation Block [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; [UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:@selector(animationDidStop:finished:context:)]; // Set up path movement CAKeyframeAnimation *pathAnimation = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"path"]; pathAnimation.calculationMode = kCAAnimationPaced; pathAnimation.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; pathAnimation.removedOnCompletion = NO; pathAnimation.duration = 1.0f; CGMutablePathRef path = CGPathCreateMutable(); CGPathMoveToPoint(path, NULL, self.center.x, self.center.y); // add all points to the path for (NSValue* value in myPoints) { CGPoint nextPoint = [value CGPointValue]; CGPathAddLineToPoint(path, NULL, nextPoint.x, nextPoint.y); } pathAnimation.path = path; CGPathRelease(path); [self.layer addAnimation:pathAnimation forKey:@"pathAnimation"]; A workaround I was considering that should work, but doesn't seem like the best way, is to use NSObject's performSelector:withObject:afterDelay:. As long as I set the delay equal to the duration of the animation, then it should be fine. Is there a better way? Thanks!

  • Treeset to order elements in descending order

    - by Gaurav Saini
    Here is the piece of code that I have used for Java 5.0 TreeSet<Integer> treeSetObj = new TreeSet<Integer>( Collections.reverseOrder() ) ; Collections.reverseOrder() is used to obtain a comparator in order to reverse the way the elements are stored and iterated. Is there a more optimized way of doing it?

  • UIView "suck" animation

    - by igul222
    I'd like to use the UIView "sucking" transition (view is "sucked" into a point) referenced here: http://iphonedevwiki.net/index.php/UIViewAnimationState#Using_suckEffect The method above, however, uses private APIs, which makes it next to useless for an App Store app. How can I recreate a similar effect without relying on private APIs? I'm guessing the answer has to do with OpenGL, although I have zero experience there.

  • Determining what frequencies correspond to the x axis in aurioTouch sample application

    - by eagle
    I'm looking at the aurioTouch sample application for the iPhone SDK. It has a basic spectrum analyzer implemented when you choose the "FFT" option. One of the things the app is lacking is X axis labels (i.e. the frequency labels). In the aurioTouchAppDelegate.mm file, in the function - (void)drawOscilloscope at line 652, it has the following code: if (displayMode == aurioTouchDisplayModeOscilloscopeFFT) { if (fftBufferManager->HasNewAudioData()) { if (fftBufferManager->ComputeFFT(l_fftData)) [self setFFTData:l_fftData length:fftBufferManager->GetNumberFrames() / 2]; else hasNewFFTData = NO; } if (hasNewFFTData) { int y, maxY; maxY = drawBufferLen; for (y=0; y<maxY; y++) { CGFloat yFract = (CGFloat)y / (CGFloat)(maxY - 1); CGFloat fftIdx = yFract * ((CGFloat)fftLength); double fftIdx_i, fftIdx_f; fftIdx_f = modf(fftIdx, &fftIdx_i); SInt8 fft_l, fft_r; CGFloat fft_l_fl, fft_r_fl; CGFloat interpVal; fft_l = (fftData[(int)fftIdx_i] & 0xFF000000) >> 24; fft_r = (fftData[(int)fftIdx_i + 1] & 0xFF000000) >> 24; fft_l_fl = (CGFloat)(fft_l + 80) / 64.; fft_r_fl = (CGFloat)(fft_r + 80) / 64.; interpVal = fft_l_fl * (1. - fftIdx_f) + fft_r_fl * fftIdx_f; interpVal = CLAMP(0., interpVal, 1.); drawBuffers[0][y] = (interpVal * 120); } cycleOscilloscopeLines(); } } From my understanding, this part of the code is what is used to decide which magnitude to draw for each frequency in the UI. My question is how can I determine what frequency each iteration (or y value) represents inside the for loop. For example, if I want to know what the magnitude is for 6kHz, I'm thinking of adding a line similar to the following: if (yValueRepresentskHz(y, 6)) NSLog(@"The magnitude for 6kHz is %f", (interpVal * 120)); Please note that although they chose to use the variable name y, from what I understand, it actually represents the x-axis in the visual graph of the spectrum analyzer, and the value of the drawBuffers[0][y] represents the y-axis.

  • Looping music with intro in XNA using SoundEffect

    - by Jordan Roher
    I have two sound files: Sound A is an 18 second intro designed to be played once Sound B is a 1 minute looping track I'd like to play Sound A once, then once Sound A is done, immediately play Sound B and keep looping Sound B until I tell it to stop. This is supposed to be looping town music in an RPG. I've tried doing this in code using just SoundEffect, but there's a tiny yet noticeable gap between the end of Sound A and the beginning of Sound B. Even if I put monitoring code watching Sound A's SoundEffectInstance.State in the Update() function, I haven't been able to start Sound B exactly when Sound A finishes so that it's seamless. I'd prefer to use SoundEffect because I can load WMA files rather than being stuck with WAVs in XACT.

  • Why CABasicAnimation will send the layer's view to back and front?

    - by ohho
    There are two UIViews of similar size. UIView one (A) is originally on top of UIView two (B). When I try to perform a CABasicAnimation transform.rotation.y on A's layer: CABasicAnimation *rotateAnimation = [CABasicAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.y"]; CGFloat startValue = 0.0; CGFloat endValue = M_PI; rotateAnimation.fromValue = [NSNumber numberWithDouble:startValue]; rotateAnimation.toValue = [NSNumber numberWithDouble:endValue]; rotateAnimation.duration = 5.0; [CATransaction begin]; [imageA.layer addAnimation:rotateAnimation forKey:@"rotate"]; [CATransaction commit]; During the animation, the animating layer's UIView (A) will be: sent back (A is suddenly behind B) rotating ... passed second half of the animation sent front (A is now on top of B again) Is there a way to keep A on top of B for the whole animation period? Thanks! UPDATE: project source is attached: FlipLayer.zip

  • Intermittent fillMode=kCAFillModeForwards bug using CAKeyframeAnimation with path

    - by Mark24x7
    I'm having an intermittent problem when I move a UIImageView around the screen using CAKeyframeAnimation. I want the position of the UIImageView to remain where the animation ends when it is done. This bug only happens for certain start and end points. When I use random points it works correctly most of the time, but about 5-15% of the time it fails and snaps back to the pre-animation position. The problem only appears when using CAKeyframeAnimation using the path property. If I use the values property the bug does not appear. I am setting removedOnCompletion = NO, and fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards. I have posted a link to a test Xcode below. Here is my code for setting up the animation. I have a property usePath. When this is YES, the bug appears. When I set usePath to NO, the snap back bug does not happen. In this case I am using a path that is a simple line, but once I resolve this bug with a simple path, I will use a more complex path with curves in it. // create the point CAKeyframeAnimation *moveAnimation = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"position"]; if (self.usePath) { CGMutablePathRef path = CGPathCreateMutable(); CGPathMoveToPoint(path, NULL, startPt.x, startPt.y); CGPathAddLineToPoint(path, NULL, endPt.x, endPt.y); moveAnimation.path = path; CGPathRelease(path); } else { moveAnimation.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSValue valueWithCGPoint:startPt], [NSValue valueWithCGPoint:endPt], nil]; } moveAnimation.calculationMode = kCAAnimationPaced; moveAnimation.duration = 0.5f; moveAnimation.removedOnCompletion = NO; // leaves presentation layer in final state; preventing snap-back to original state moveAnimation.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; moveAnimation.timingFunction = [CAMediaTimingFunction functionWithName:kCAMediaTimingFunctionEaseOut]; // moveAnimation.delegate = self; // start the animation [ball.layer addAnimation:moveAnimation forKey:@"moveAnimation"]; To dl and view my test project goto test project (http://www.24x7digital.com/downloads/PathFillModeBug.zip) Tap the 'Move Ball' button to start the animation of the ball. I have hard coded a start and end point which causes the bug to happen every time. Use the switch to change usePath to YES or NO. When usePath is YES, you will see the snap back bug. When usePath is NO, you will not see the snap back bug. I'm using SDK 3.1.3, but I have seen this bug using SDK 3.0 as well, and I have seen the bug on the Sim and on my iPhone. Any idea on how to fix this or if I am doing something wrong are appreciated. Thanks, Mark.

  • Issue with CAAnimation and CALayer Transforms

    - by Brian
    I have a CALayer that I want to animate across the screen. I have created two methods: one slide open the layer and one to slide close. These both work by assigning a property to the layer's transform property. Now I want to use a CAKeyFrameAnimation to slide open the layer. I got this working so the layer slides open, but now I can't slide the layer close using my old method. I am trying to figure out why this is. Any help would be great. Code: - (id)init { if( self = [super init] ) { bIsOpen = NO; closeTransform = self.transform; openTransform = CATransform3DMakeTranslation(-235.0, 0.0, 0.0); } return self; } - (void)closeMenu { if( bIsOpen ) { self.transform = closeTransform; bIsOpen = !bIsOpen; } } - (void)openMenu { if( !bIsOpen ) { CAKeyframeAnimation *closeAnimation = [CAKeyframeAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"transform"]; closeAnimation.duration = 1.0; closeAnimation.removedOnCompletion = NO; closeAnimation.fillMode = kCAFillModeForwards; closeAnimation.values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:[NSValue valueWithCATransform3D:closeTransform],[NSValue valueWithCATransform3D:openTransform],nil]; closeAnimation.timingFunctions = [NSArray arrayWithObject:[CAMediaTimingFunction functionWithName:kCAMediaTimingFunctionLinear]]; [self addAnimation:closeAnimation forKey:@"transform"]; bIsOpen = !bIsOpen; } }

  • Programmatical Creation of NSMappingModel

    - by enchilada
    I want to programmatically (without Lightweight Migration) create a mapping model between two models that are exactly the same, except one of the entities (there are a bunch of entities) has different attributes. Let's call this entity "Person". And let's say the destination model has 1) added a new attribute called "address" 2) deleted an attribute called "eyeColor" 3) kept (i.e. not done anything with) an attribute called "name" How would you create an NSMappingModel between these models programmatically? I happen to have some explicit questions that might help me do this by myself: Q1) Do I have to create NSEntityMapping objects for all of the entities other than "Person", even if they remain unchanged? Q2) How do I deal with the "address" attribute in "Person", which is a new one being created? Should I create an NSPropertyMapping for that somehow, that turns nothing into something ("address")? Q3) How do I deal with the "name" attribute in "Person"? Do I have to create an NSPropertyMapping for that, even though it simply stays the same? Q4) For the NSEntityMapping corresponding to "Person", is not creating any NSPropertyMapping for "eyeColor" a proper way to get it deleted? Or should I create an NSPropertyMapping for "eyeColor"? If yes, how would this object be created, i.e. what would determine that its purpose is to get rid of "eyeColor"? Thank you in advance, and I apologize not being able to answer these questions myself, as the documenation really has no good example of how to create NSMappingModels programmatically. Note again that I'm not allowed to use Lightweight Migration. I must do this manually.
