• How can I prevent row selection in the WPF Toolkit DataGrid?

  I see a few options available for row selection, but 'No Selection' is not one of them. I've tried handling the SelectionChanged event by setting SelectedItem to null, but the row still seems selected. If there is no easy support for preventing this, would it be easy to just style the selected row the same as an unselected one? That way it could be selected, but the user has no visual indicator.

However, when a user signs up, they're not just creating a User model, but also need to create a related Account model that represents the company.   I want to make 10 asynchronous http requests at once and only process the results when all have completed and in a single callback function. I also do not want to block any threads using WaitAll (it is my understanding that WaitAll blocks until all are complete). I think I want to make a custom IAsyncResult which will handle multiple calls. Am I on the right track? Are there any good resources or examples out there that describe handling this?

  I found at this Adobe tutorial a nice "RemoteService" class that creates a RemoteObject and contains the functions for handling the result and fault events. If I wanted to use this approach, how could I pass the data from the result handler to interfaces that modules from the main application could use? I could put the RemoteService/RemoteObject in the modules, but (in my opinion- and I could be wrong) the best design seems to be using the remote calls in the main app and passing the data along to the modules.

  When a user uploads an image to my site, the image goes through this process; user uploads pic store pic metadata in db, giving the image a unique id async image processing (thumbnail creation, cropping, etc) all images are stored in the same uploads folder So far the site is pretty small, and there are only ~200,000 images in the uploads directory. I realise I'm nowhere near the physical limit of files within a directory, but this approach clearly won't scale, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on upload / storage strategies for handling large volumes of image uploads.

  Should I validate input parameters on all functions I create? Input isn't passed from a user, but from other routines as part of an automatic process. I use error handling. The Oracle stored procedure does have some 3 more parameters, but I believe I am handling this in my code.
