  • Pay online service

    - by Samuel
Hellow, I have a database where you can select articles etc, users have an account, it's all in mysql and php (i guess you don't need that code). What i was wondering was how to write a script that allows users to pay online for the articles they selected? It doesn't need to be any code, just ideas / hints / tips / ... (that are doable in PHP or something similar) Thanks in advance!! -Samuel

Hello, I'm a beginner 3-D Quartz thing but knows how to create application. I was looking over sample of GLGravity Source code given by apple today, I was wondering teapot.h file contains all contents of array file such as indices, vertices. Do you guys think this code has been provided by human or, program? if it so, any auto generate program exist written in c based? (cause teapot.h seemed to me obvious native c code) thanks.

  • ArcGis and GeoCortex

    - by Frank
Hi, we are tying to set-up GeoCortex with our ArcGis server but can't seem to get it right. We do see some of the requests that have been made to the application, but we don't have a lot of details about it, only the number of image requested, I was wondering if you guys had any problem with this (if you ever tried it) and if I could get a checklist of things to look for. Thanks p.s.: I know that this is a very precise subject, any help will be appreciated.

  • Eclipse vs Netbeans Web Service Tooling

    - by Zenzen
Some time ago (~4-5months ago) I attented a lecture about JEE and at some point the lecturer started talking about webservices and how hard it is to create a good one because all the IDEs make them in a bit different way (or something like that) and that in general it's better to use Netbeans to create them as Eclipse has some issues, the thing is he didn't really say why Eclipse is bad. Now I'm wondering is what he said true and why, is it really better to use Netbeans for webservices and why?

  • Find cosine similarity in R

    - by Derek
I'm wondering if there is a built in function in R that can find the cosine similarity (or cosine distance) between two arrays? Currently, I implemented my own function, but I can't help but think that R should already come with one :) Thanks, Derek

  • What can tables do that CSS positioning cannot?

    - by Jeremy Lew
I know there are various good arguments preferring css positioning over table-based layouts. What I'm wondering is whether the CSS model is complete (assuming a relatively modern browser) with respect to ALL of the capabilities of tables. Are there layouts that tables can achieve that are impossible or impractical with CSS?

  • General Purpose Language to build a compiler for

    - by Brownie
Inspired by Eric Sink's interview on the stackoverflow podcast I would like to build a full compiler in my spare time for the learning experience. My initial thought was to build a C compiler but I'm not sure whether it would take too much time. I am wondering if there is a smaller general purpose language that would be more appropriate to implement as a first compiler effort? Or is a C implementation doable on a reasonable timescale (200 hrs)? It is my intention to target the CLR.

  • Using one key for Encryption and HMAC

    - by Vladimir
Hello, I am wondering whether I can use a shared secret key established between two clients as the HMAC key too. I saw that there is a problem when it is used as a CBC-MAC but I haven't found any evidence it is bad practice for HMACs. Thanks, Vladimir

  • Mac font rendering on Windows

    - by Swap
Hi, I love the way Mac OS beautifully renders fonts (not just browsers). I was wondering if we could somehow get the same rendering in browsers running on Windows? Someone recommended sIFR but I guess that's useful when I need to use non-standard fonts? -- Swap

  • insert multiple rows via a php array into mysql

    - by toofarsideways
I'm passing a large dataset into a mysql table via php using insert commands and I'm wondering if its possible to insert approximately 1000 rows at a time via a query other than appending each value on the end of an mile long string and then executing it. I am using the codeigniter framework so its functions are also available to me.

  • iPhone HUD style progress bar

    - by Alexander
I've been wanting to create a HUD style loading bar like the SMS app on the iPhone used to have (http://www.jonokane.com/images/blog/iphoneFixProblem.jpg) but don't know how. I was wondering if anyone has done this before or if there is a tutorial somewhere for it? I just think it looks so nice and would like to use it rather than the built in loading progress bar. Thanks a bunch!

  • ie8 breaks with asp.net ajax

    - by Amadeo Torese
Hello, When using asp.net ajax (scriptmanager, timer, updatepanel) with ie8, after certain time (~3h) IE breaks with null object, constructor, or paramArray (depending on the asp.net code). Even with the simplest timer (no ajax, no updatepanel) ie8 still breaks. On every other browser it works fine, and if I code the ajax myself it works. Since google and msdn forums turned up nothing I'm wondering if anybody here has had similar problems with ie8 browser.
