How can I get the new Facebook Javascript SDK to work in IE8?

I've boiled down my page to the simplest possible thing, and it still doesn't work in IE8. When I click the Login button and log in, I get a second dialog with a session. If I am logged into Facebook, I get two dialogs with sessions: one from the getLoginStatus call, and another from the event. In IE8, I get no dialogs when I load the page. The getLoginStatus callback is not invoked. When I click the Login button, I get a dialog, but it has a very strange error in it: Invalid Argument The Facebook Connect cross-domain receiver URL (http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect/xd_proxy.php#?=&cb=f3e91da434653f2&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fsword.sqprod.com%2Ff210cba91f2a6d4&relation=opener&transport=flash&frame=f27aa957225164&result=xxRESULTTOKENxx) must have the application's Connect URL (http://mysiteurl.com/) as a prefix. You can configure the Connect URL in the Application Settings Editor. I've sanitized the Connect URL above, but it is correct. The dialog does have username/password fields. If I log in, the dialog box gets redirected to my Connect URL, but there's no fb cookie, so of course nothing works. What am I doing wrong here?

Why is "wsdl" namespace interjected into action name when using savon for ruby soap communication?

I'm trying to access a SOAP service i don't control. One of the actions is called ProcessMessage. I follow example and generate a SOAP request, but I get an error back saying that the action doesn't exist. I traced the problem to the way the body of the envelope is generated. <env:Envelope ... "> <env:Header> <wsse:Security ... "> <wsse:UsernameToken ..."> <wsse:Username>USER</wsse:Username> <wsse:Nonce>658e702d5feff1777a6c741847239eb5d6d86e48</wsse:Nonce> <wsu:Created>2010-02-18T02:05:25Z</wsu:Created> <wsse:Password ... >password</wsse:Password> </wsse:UsernameToken> </wsse:Security> </env:Header> <env:Body> <wsdl:ProcessMessage> <payload> ...... </payload> </wsdl:ProcessMessage> </env:Body> </env:Envelope> That ProcessMessage tag should be : <ProcessMessage xmlns="http://www.starstandards.org/webservices/2005/10/transport"> That's what it is when it is generated by the sample java app, and it works. That tag is the only difference between what my ruby app generates and the sample java app. Is there any way to get rid of the "wsdl:" namesaplce in front of that one tag and add an attribute like that. Barring that, is there a way to make force the action to be not to be generated by just passed as a string like the rest of the body? WCF - Multiple schema HTTP and HTTPS in the same service

I am trying to set up WCF service in production. The service has two bindings with two different interfaces. One endpoint (basicHttpBinding) is set up at HTTP and the other endpoint (wsHttpBinding) is set up securely over SSL. I can't get this scenario to work. Everything works with no problem if both endpoints are set up over HTTP. Before I even get into the specifics of errors I get, is is possible to run secure and insecure endpoint over the same service ? JS onclick triggers wrong object

What I found out so far is that the wrong instance of obj is triggered from the click event, even though o1 and o2 maintain correct references to their corresponding DOM object. Getting no class def found error. Log4J -> Java

Hello, I created a simple web application and added log4J's jar in my lib folder and it seems to work fine. Config for WCF with multiple endpoints

Hi guys I'm new to WCF and am trying to get some ideas I have off the ground. How do you Send More that 20 Parameters to a Stored Procedure Using ODP.Net?

Switching from Microsofts Oracle Driver to ODP.NET version 10.2.0.100. After changing the data types to OracleDBTypes in a procedure, that worked perficetly using System.Data.OracleClient, the procedure fails if we try and pass in more that 20 parameters. The error returned is: ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'ADD_TARP_EVENT' ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignorede If we reduce the number of parameters to less than 20 it works. Is this a known issue? Salesforce/PHP - Bulk Outbound message (SOAP), Time out issue

Salesforce can send up to 100 requests inside 1 SOAP message. While sending this type of Bulk Ooutbound message request my PHP script finishes executing but SF fails to accept the ACK used to clear the message queue on the Salesforce side of things. Looking at the Outbound message log (monitoring) I see all the messages in a pending state with the Delivery Failure Reason "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out". If my script has finished execution, why do I get this error? I have tried these methods to increase the execution time on my server as I have no access on the Salesforce side: set_time_limit(0); // in the script max_execution_time = 360 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds max_input_time = 360 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data memory_limit = 32M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume I used the high settings just for testing. Any thoughts as to why this is failing the ACK delivery back to Salesforce? Could it be Apache? PHP? I have also tested just accepting the 100 request SOAP response and just accepting and sending the ACK the queue clears out, so I know it's on my side of things. Clickable widgets in android

The developer documentation has seemed to have failed me here. I can create a static widget without thinking, I can even create a widget like the analogue clock widget that will update itself, however, I can not for the life of me figure out how to create a widget that reacts to when a user clicks on it. So I made my sample activity class a simple activity that when created, would create a mediaplayer object, and start it (it wouldn't ever release the object, so it would eventually crash, here is it's code: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); MediaPlayer mp = MediaPlayer.create(getApplicationContext(), R.raw.sound); mp.start(); } However, when I added the widget to the home screen, and clicked on it, nothing played, in fact, nothing played when I set the update timer to just a few hundred milliseconds (in the appwidget provider xml file). Furthermore, I set break points and found out that not only was it never reaching the activity, but no break points I set would ever get triggered. (I still haven't figured out why that is), however, logcat seemed to indicate that the activity class file was being run. So, is there anything I can do to get an appwidget to respond to a click? As the onClickPendingIntent() method is the closest I have found to a onClick type of method. Thank you very much.

I would like the gridview to be shorter, so that the ad can fill the bottom portion of the screen, and not hide part of the gridview. The problem is most annoying when you scroll all the way to the bottom of the gridview, and you still cannot fully see the last row items in the grid due to the ad. I'm not sure if this is the standard way that AdMob ads work. If this is the case, adding some padding to the bottom of the grid (if that's possible) would due the trick. That way the user can scroll a bit further, and see the last row in addition to the ad. I just switched from using LinearLayout to RelativeLayout after reading some similar issues with ListViews. Now my ad is along the bottom instead of above the grid, so I'm getting closer. Thoughts? -Kevin

Entity Attribute Value Database vs. strict Relational Model Ecommerce question

It is safe to say that the EAV/CR database model is bad. That said, Question: What database model, technique, or pattern should be used to deal with "classes" of attributes describing e-commerce products which can be changed at run time? In a good E-commerce database, you will store classes of options (like TV resolution then have a resolution for each TV, but the next product may not be a TV and not have "TV resolution"). How do you store them, search efficiently, and allow your users to setup product types with variable fields describing their products? If the search engine finds that customers typically search for TVs based on console depth, you could add console depth to your fields, then add a single depth for each tv product type at run time. There is a nice common feature among good e-commerce apps where they show a set of products, then have "drill down" side menus where you can see "TV Resolution" as a header, and the top five most common TV Resolutions for the found set. You click one and it only shows TVs of that resolution, allowing you to further drill down by selecting other categories on the side menu. These options would be the dynamic product attributes added at run time. Further discussion: So long story short, are there any links out on the Internet or model descriptions that could "academically" fix the following setup? I thank Noel Kennedy for suggesting a category table, but the need may be greater than that. I describe it a different way below, trying to highlight the significance. I may need a viewpoint correction to solve the problem, or I may need to go deeper in to the EAV/CR. Love the positive response to the EAV/CR model. My fellow developers all say what Jeffrey Kemp touched on below: "new entities must be modeled and designed by a professional" (taken out of context, read his response below). The problem is: entities add and remove attributes weekly (search keywords dictate future attributes) new entities arrive weekly (products are assembled from parts) old entities go away weekly (archived, less popular, seasonal) The customer wants to add attributes to the products for two reasons: department / keyword search / comparison chart between like products consumer product configuration before checkout The attributes must have significance, not just a keyword search. If they want to compare all cakes that have a "whipped cream frosting", they can click cakes, click birthday theme, click whipped cream frosting, then check all cakes that are interesting knowing they all have whipped cream frosting. This is not specific to cakes, just an example.

Myfaces extensionfilter overriding renderkit? (Tree2 component)

I've pulled in the tree2 component (from Tomahawk 1.1.9). Had used the simpler Tree component on previous projects, and this one just looks a bit nicer. Running on websphere 6.1.x and set the server side flag that's needed (com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.invokefilterscompatibility=true) and set the extensionfilter accordingly. Everything's good, and works as expected. Here's the issue: - on a page being included on this one (just some typical footer type info with NO myfaces widgets), there's some embedded html that's getting flagged with warnings in the systemout console). These look like org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 475. Surroundings: 'span id="tile:footr:viewFragm'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 479. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 492. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. The problem isn't necessarily with the html (which should be cleaned up regardless :-). IF I don't include myfaces, I don't get these warning messages with the default ibm jsf renderer (using jsf 1.1 still). Obviously, IBM's implementation is a bit more lax than myFaces. The page has nothing to do with myfaces at all. The reason for needing the extension filter is that it needs (for the Tree2 anyways, I know it does more for file upload) to intercept requests and then stick some .js includes on the page. Investigated this a bit, and I've included this filter in my web.xml, but it is NO longer fronting the faces servlet. So, the filter is instantiated at startup, but is never executed. Since the filter isn't in place, I've had to hard code in the includes for the 2 .js files into my page Now, the tree2 gets rendered properly, AND I'm not getting the warnings from above, because with the extentionfilter not being called, its using the IBM renderkit ;-) I'm a bit concerned that when the extension filter is in place, everything is being rendered by myFaces, rather than IBM's renderkit (i.e. All I want is myfaces/tomahawk to render the tree2 only, and let the ri do everything else) Can anyone confirm this? When you use myfaces/tomahawk, is it doing all the rendering for the whole application, or just the page any tomahawk widget is on? Thanks for any thoughts on this mike

Now: I have installed less via npm and I had heard from another post that @imports should reference the .css not the .less. In any case, I have tried the combinations of switching .less for .css in the jade and less files with no success. If you can help or have the solution I'd greatly appreciate it. Note: The jade portion works fine if I enter any ol' .css. Note2: The less compiles if I use lessc via command line.

ffmpeg - How to determine if -movflags faststart is enabled? PHP

While I am able to encode an mp4 file which I can plan on my local windows machine, I am having trouble encoding files to mp4 which are readable when streaming by safari, etc. After a bit of reading, I believe my issue is that I must move the metadata from the end of the file to the beginning in order for the converted mp4 files to be streamable. To that end, I am trying to find out if the build of ffmpeg that I am currently using is able to use the -movflags faststart option through php - as my current outputted mp4 files are not working when streamed online. This is the way I am now echoing the -help, -formats, -codecs, but I am not seeing anything about -movflags faststart in any of the lists: exec($ffmpegPath." -help", $codecArr); for($ii=0;$ii<count($codecArr);$ii++){ echo $codecArr[$ii].'</br>'; } Is there a similar method of determining if -movflags fastart is available to my ffmpeg build? Managed (.net) library with html-tidy like functionality?

Does anybody know of an html cleaner for .NET that can parse html and (for instance) convert it to a more machine friendly format such as xhtml? I've tried the HTML Agility Pack, but that fails to correctly parse even fairly simple examples. To give an example of html that should be parsed correctly: <html><body> <ul><li>TestElem1 <li>TestElem2 <li>TestElem3 List: <ul><li>Nested1 <li>Nested2</li> <li>Nested3 </ul> <li>TestElem4 </ul> <p>paragraph 1 <p>paragraph 2 <p>paragraph 3 </body></html> li tags don't need to be closed (see spec), and neither do P tags. In other words, the above sample should be parsed as: <html><body> <ul><li>TestElem1</li> <li>TestElem2</li> <li>TestElem3 List: <ul><li>Nested1</li> <li>Nested2</li> <li>Nested3</li> </ul></li> <li>TestElem4</li> </ul> <p>paragraph 1</p> <p>paragraph 2</p> <p>paragraph 3</p> </body></html> Since the aim is to use the library on various machines, it's a big disadvantage to need to fall back to native code (such as a wrapper around html tidy) which would require extra deployment hassle and sacrifice platform independance. Any suggestions? To recap, I'm looking for: An html cleaner ala HTML tidy Must be able to deal with real world html, not just xhtml, at the very least correctly reading valid html 4 Must be able to convert to a more easily processable xml format Should be a purely managed app.

Crawling engine architecture - Java/ Perl integration

Hi all, I am looking to develop a management and administration solution around our webcrawling perl scripts. Basically, right now our scripts are saved in SVN and are manually kicked off by SysAdmin/devs etc. Everytime we need to retrieve data from new sources we have to create a ticket with business instructions and goals. As you can imagine, not an optimal solution. There are 3 consistent themes with this system: the retrieval of data has a "conceptual structure" for lack of a better phrase i.e. the retrieval of information follows a particular path we are only looking for very specific information so we dont have to really worry about extensive crawling for awhile (think thousands-tens of thousands of pages vs millions) crawls are url-based instead of site-based. As I enhance this alpha version to a more production-level beta I am looking to add automation and management of the retrieval of data. Additionally our other systems are Java (which I'm more proficient in) and I'd like to compartmentalize the perl aspects so we dont have to lean heavily on outside help. I've evaluated the usual suspects Nutch, Droid etc but the time spent on modifying those frameworks to suit our specific information retrieval cant be justified. So I'd like your thoughts regarding the following architecture. I want to create a solution which use Java as the interface for managing and execution of the perl scripts use Java for configuration and data access stick with perl for retrieval An example use case would be a data analyst delivers us a requirement for crawling perl developer creates the required script and uses this webapp to submit the script (which gets saved to the filesystem) the script gets kicked off from the webapp with specific parameters .... Webapp should be able to create multiple threads of the perl script to initiate multiple crawlers. So questions are what do you think how solid is integration between Java and Perl specifically from calling perl from java has someone used such a system which actually is part perl repository The goal really is to not have a whole bunch of unorganized perl scripts and put some management and organization on our information retrieval. Also, I know I can use perl do do the web part of what we want - but as I mentioned before - trying to keep perl focused. But it seems assbackwards I'm not adverse to making it an all perl solution. PHP5.3 is not working with MySQL5.1 IIS7 Times out

I have set up PHP5.3, MySQL5.1, and IIS7 on Window 7 but php doesn't want to work with MySQL. I'm assuming it is a configuration error or an incomplete install on my part. MySQL5.1 is working PHP5.3 is working, phpinfo() shows info and that i have enabled MySQL IIS is setup and using fastCgiModule to run PHP IIS registers php.ini updates port 3306 is firewall free and open to the world php.ini is configured correctly I have added c:\php to the Windows systems PATH In the past I remember moving a file, libmysql.dll, to System32 but I doesn't look like that come with php5.3.1, as the driver comes built in now http://us3.php.net/manual/en/mysqlnd.install.php. (This has been giving me so much trouble I have been documenting my findings on my blog as http://inteldesigner.com/2010/code/having-problems-getting-php5-3-to-work-with-mysql5-1 ) NEED: I need to install PHP manually, don't want to use the quick installer or an older version I need to get PHP5.3 to work with MySQL5.1 so i can install Wordpress2.9 and Drupal7a Any links or suggestion would be great, I have already done everything on the iis web site, nothing is working. I'm guessing they have not updated for new software. CruiseControl.Net Publisher email failing to send e-mail

So here's my problem: I cannot seem to be able to configure CruiseControl.NET to send out an e-mail to me when a build occurs. I've already looked at the relevant StackOverflow articles like this one and many more and tried my hand at googling the solution but I dont know what I could be doing wrong. The only other thing that I'd like to validate is that I can send/receive e-mails using my username/password with the SMTP server I received from IT (my mail works properly) but I just followed the steps on testing an SMTP server here and everything looks fine http://support.microsoft.com/kb/153119 Anyone have any ideas as to why I'm getting this problem, or how to troubleshoot it further?
