  • Get a list/tuple/dict of *all* the arguments passed to a function?

    Given the following function: def foo(a, b, c): pass How would one obtain a list/tuple/dict/etc of the arguments passed in? Specifically, I'm looking for Python's version of JavaScript's arguments keyword or PHP's func_get_args() method. What I'm not looking for is a solution using *args or **kwargs; I need to specify the argument names in the function definition (to ensure they're being passed in) but within the function I want to work with them in a list- or dict-style structure.

  • Force content generated by javascript to reveal itself.

    Hello, I'm generating some content through an API, accessed by javascript, and I cannot grab the source code of what is plainly displayed, post-load, on the browser. I can highlight the text and view the source of selected text (which is a firefox feature), but I will be using CURL to capture the data automatically with php... How can I capture the data? Is there a way to update the source(maybe through a DOM update) so it displays some how? Any help is appreciated.

    Hello all, I have a JavaScript variable that I echo out using PHP which is shown like this in the page source: var db_1 = 'C:\this\path'; When I set the value of a text field with that variable like so: $('#myinput').val(db_1); The slashes have disappeared and only the other characters are left! Why is this and how can I put the slashes back in?? Thanks all

  • Are classes in Python in different files?

    Much like Java (or php), I'm use to seperating the classes to files. Is it the same deal in Python? plus, how should I name the file? Lowercase like classname.py or the same like ClassName.py? Do I need to do something special if I want to create an object from this class or does the fact that it's in the same "project" (netbeans) makes it ok to create an object from it?

    I'm having a problem with a django website I host with lighttpd + fastcgi. It works great but it seems that the first request always takes up to 3seconds. Subsequent requests are much faster (<1s). I activated access logs in lighttpd in order to track the issue. But I'm kind of stuck.   • Reduce the number of additional Queries to 0 by overriding functions in the base model

    my basic database setup is: User:... Info: relations: User: { foreignType:one } When displaying information on the user it takes: 1 query to find info on the user, and 1 query to find additional info I want to reduce this to one query that finds both, I assume I need to override a function from BaseUser.class.php, or something along those lines but I'm not really sure what to do.     One of the downsides of web.config/app.config is that it's just Magic Strings everywhere, since it's just an XML file. Interpreted languages like PHP or Ruby have the advantage that the configuration is just code that is executed. In .net, doing stuff in code requires a redeployment, which defeats the purpose. Now, before I build my own web.config replacement based on Boo or PowerShell I wanted to know if there is an existing one?

    How do I get shortcodes to process properly in custom fields? I've tried using the code below, but I cannot figure out where to place it ("button" is the name of the field): <?php if ( get_post_meta($post->ID, 'button', true) ) echo do_shortcode(get_post_meta($post->ID, 'button', $single = true)); ?> As of now, the shortcode is working in the sense that the button is displaying, but the shortcode text is displaying where the "buy now" button is supposed to be.   • Prevent Apache from chunking gzipped content

    When using mod_deflate in Apache2, Apache will chunk gzipped content, setting the Transfer-encoding: chunked header. While this results in a faster download time, I cannot display a progress bar. If I handle the compression myself in PHP, I can gzip it completely first and set the Content-length header, so that I can display a progress bar to the user. Is there any way to change Apache's behavior, and have Apache set a Content-length header instead of chunking the response, so that I don't have to handle the compression myself?
