  • Mail.app does not show new mail when iPod touch is active

    I have synchronised the e-Mail settings of the iPod touch with the settings of my IMAP account in Mail.app. Now sometimes the iPod would show there are new mails with Mail.app totally ignoring their existence for hours. Only when Mail.app is restarted would these new mails show up. Is there anything I can do that Mail.app is up-to-date even though the iPod is running?

  • Thunderbird 3 "Reply to all", also replies to myself

    I have my job IMAP account set up in TB 3.0.3. It's becoming very annoying that in group emails where I'm in the CC or TO list I hit "Reply To All" and I find myself in the recipients list. So when I send the email I also get a copy of my own email. I haven't found where to disable or modify this. This doesn't happen with my Gmail account (also set up in TB)

  • Is there a way to remove duplicate emails from a remote account?

    I have a user who has multiple duplicated emails across multiple folders on his IMAP account. How he managed to create them is beyond me, but mine is not to reason why, just to fix it! Can anyone recommend an application that I may use to remove the duplicates. (we're talking mailboxes in excess of 9G, and it's a remote server) I don't mind what OS I have to use to clean up the mailbox, I'm just looking for some recommendations. Thanks

Is there any way to get the IMAP Exchange connector to rebuild its cache of messages since it doesn't seem to be pulling them directly from the MAPI store? 2.     The title pretty much says everything: I'm using server-side filtering so I need Thunderbird to watch all folders for new messages using IDLE. I've already tried enabling "When getting new messages for this account, always check this folder" but after restarting TB I did not have an IMAP IDLE connection open for every folder. I've also tried setting mail.check_all_imap_folders_for_new (which did not exist before) and mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new to true - nothing changed.

    Hey, I set up a new mailserver with postfix and Dovecot some days ago, everything is working except for Thunderbird not showing any folders. Evolution shows me all folders. I migrated from a Courier install using imapsync. In the filesystem the folders don't have a INBOX in their name, so the tho folders ar called .Folder 1 not .INBOX.Folder 1.     I have a brand new out of the box Dell PowerEdge T310 running SBS 2011. Our employees at our remote offices can't send emails to recipients outside of our own domain. The workstations at the same location as the server aren't having any problem. I would at this time like to say "Thanks a lot" to the super-minds at Microsoft for protecting our email server from rogue computers attempting to send fake emails. (Silly me I thought proper login and password conventions would handle that.) I know this is something dealing with relaying but thus far nothing from any posts I've read have changed anything. Honestly, if someone is crafty enough to guess one of our login/password combos, let them send emails through our server I don't care!

  • http, https and ftp is not working but smtp and imap is working

    hi all, yesterday on a computer of a friend a strange thing happened. after booting the ports fo http, https and ftp are closed but e-mail is still working. in the control panel the windows firewall seems active even if he tries to deactivate it. i have a suspision that it is the faul of norton internet security 2010, we have tried to uninstall it, but the uninstallation did not work. when using the removal tool from symantec it just goes to 23% and then it crashes. the process ccSvcHst.exe is still running. how can i safeley remove the rest of norton internet security? thanks in advance [edit] norton internet security 2010 is sucesfully removed, but still no connectivity

  • Which free IMAP-supporting webmail would you recommend?

    Considering a machine with IIS 7.5/PHP 5.2/asp.net and mysql/MSSQL available, which webmail would you pick? Don't think it's relevant but the mail server is installed on localhost, and is hmailserver. If it's one using asp.net it'd be a bonus, but PHP is ok as well and probably offers more choices. "Client side" look and feel definitely needed, flash/silverlight/ajax not a problem. I have also seen this question, but being asked almost 2years ago and being focused on php webmails, I thought that some better option could've been released in the meantime.

  • Thunderbird 16.0.1 with IMAP on Gmail on Windows 7

    My Thunderbird Trash folder is messed up and it does not get fixed by "Repair Folder". When I delete a message it goes into the Trash folder but if I try to access the message, I get a pop-up error message: The current operation on Trash did not succeed. The mail server for account for the XXX imail Gmail account responded: Some messages could not be FETCHed The message count in the Trash folder continues to increase. If I look in the Gmail trash folder I can read the deleted messages. Unlike other users that have reported this problem I cannot find a corrupted message in the Gmail Trash folder. In fact I do not find any corrupted messages in my any of Gmail labels.

    I've got a question about Trash/Drafts/Sent folders. By default when I created mailboxes via ISPManager panel, it wast Inbox.Sent, Inbox.Trash, Inbox.Drafts. which I didn't like because having sent and drafts as subfolder to inbox was kinda lame imo. I wanted those 3 to be as separate folders, not as subfolders. Creating them was no problem, just .Sent (for example) in maildir and clients can see it. The questions, how I "make" server to know that it should now send deleted mail to .Trash instead of .Inbox.trash, drafts and sent to their new fodlers respectively.

  • Migrating users and mailboxes from postfix / Maildir to Postfix with Mysql backend

    So I've got 60 or so users on a hand rolled postfix installation on openbsd and I'd like to move their mailboxes to our new mail server running iRedMail (postfix, vmail/mysql back end) Does anyone know of a good way to do this? Preferably a script I can run to keep syncing the users mailboxes as MX records get updated? I presume one way (though I don't have all their passwords!) would be to have a command line imap client that simulated the users copying their mail themselves but I'm sure there must be a shell / php script to migrate users? Anyone got any bright ideas? Chris.

  • Handling Junk Email with Apple Mail.app and Gmail

    I've just setup my Apple Mail client to work with Google Apps through IMAP. One lingering question is how to best handle SPAM (Junk Mail), however. In their Help section, Google recommends that we disable junk filtering on the client. http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78892 This leads me to wonder what we should do when a junk message makes it past Google's filter? Do I just delete the message? If I do, the Google spam filter will never improve and "learn" that the message was junk. Do I have to log in to the web interface at Google to mark the message as spam? That seems a bit arduous for every spam email I get. What's the best way to handle this? Thanks!

    I have a Dovecot mailserver running at home on a flaky cable connection. For the most part, the IMAP functionality works beautifully, but I'd like to add one feature if I can: I want Dovecot not to serve large messages to high-latency clients. That is to say, if someone decides that it's a good idea to send me a 9.3mb email to me, I don't want to get it unless I'm on my LAN at home. This can't be an uncommon request, but I'm having trouble finding the configuration option in their documentation. Any ideas and/or good keywords to use in Googling would be awesome.
