    i want to do part of program which save and load some data from registry. Saving is succefuly working. I have function GrabPrivilage to grant some privilegies to my thread. i grant SE_RESTORE_NAME and SE_BACKUP_NAME to my thread and after that i call RegRestoreKey(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, TEXT("C:\reg.txt"), REG_FORCE_RESTORE ); and it always return ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED.

  • How do I check mysql user have privileges like root user

    I use mysql c++ wrapper in client side to connect to mysql server. When user establishes connection to mysql server I want to know whether the user have privileges like root (i.e. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'username'@'%' WITH GRANT OPTION).The 'SHOW GRANTS FOR CURRENT_USER' query gives grants for current user, but i need to parse the string and compare to know whether the current user have privileges like root.   • GameKit and GKPeerPicker on 1st Gen iPhone and iPod Touch

    This is my current set up for my multiplayer game: A view that gives connection tips and warns the user that multiplayer will not work on the 1st Gen iPhone or ipod Touch. There is a "connect" button that pushes the game view and starts the GKPeerPicker. Unfortunately, I don't have a 1st Gen iPhone or iPod Touch to test what happens if they press the connect button. The view will be pushed, but I don't know what will happen when the PeerPicker tries to show. So the Question(s): Is there anyway to tell if the user will not be able to use GameKit so that I can disable the "connect" button? What will happen if they do press the connect button and GameKit is not available?

    My project is structured as follows: DAL public IQueryable<Post> GetPosts() { var posts = from p in context.Post select p; return posts; } Service public IList<Post> GetPosts() { var posts = repository.GetPosts().ToList(); return posts; } //Returns a list of the latest feeds, restricted by the count. public IList<PostFeed> GetPostFeeds(int latestCount) { List<Post> post - GetPosts(); //CODE TO CREATE FEEDS HERE return feeds; } Lets say the GetPostFeeds(5) is supposed to return the 5 latest feeds. By going up the list, doesn't it pull down every single post from the database from GetPosts(), just to extract 5 from it? If each post is say 5kb from the database, and there is 1 million records. Wont that be 5GB of ram being used per call to GetPostFeeds()? Is this the way it happens? Should I go back to my DAL and write queries that return only what I need?

  • Due Date set via EWS is wrong in reminder popup

    I'm having some trouble using EWS with tasks and reminders, specifically, the due date. When I run my code, shown below, the task is added to my exchange account and I can see it fine in outlook. All the data in it looks fine too. However, if I specify to have a reminder for the task, the due date it shows is very wrong. It's usually 17 hours in the future, but the screenshot I've provided shows it being 19 hours in the future. I'm finding it very strange that if I open the task, the due date looks fine, but the reminder is saying it is due well into the future. Any ideas?     In silverlight, how do I create a usercontrol whose parent must be of a specific control? Eg. I create control Foo, Foo can only be a child of control FooParent. If in blend, they drag it to inside anything except for a FooParent control, it throws error. Foo should then be able to access properties and public methods of FooParent. Is there an official way to accomplish this?

  • LINQ to remove duplicated property

    I have a LINQ statement like this: var media = (from p in postService.GetMedia(postId) select new { PostId = postId, SynthId = p.SynthId }); There are many(possibly thousands) of records returned with the same SynthId. I want to select one one, any random one. So when I'm finished, media should contain records with distinct SynthId. SynthId can be null, I want all nulls to be in media (the distinct should not affect them). My DAL is EntityFramework, if that will help. How do I accomplish this in the most efficient way?

Is it possible to add mix both F# and C# files in that project (a library[.dll])? If not possible, whats the best way to use 2 separate service projects, one for C# and one for F# and how would I structure these projects?

    I want to copy values from one object to another object. Something similiar to pass by value but with assignment. Eg. PushPin newValPushPin = oldPushPin; //I want to break the reference here. I was told to write a copy constructor for this. But this class has alot of properties, it will probably take an hour to write a copy constructor by hand. Is there a better way to assign an object to another object by value? If not, is there a copy constructor generator?

  • Handling over-long UTF-8 sequences

    I've just been reworking my Encoding::FixLatin Perl module to handle over-long utf8 byte sequences and convert them to the shortest normal form. My question is quite simply "is this a bad idea"? A number of sources (including this RFC) suggest that any over-long utf8 should be treated as an error and rejected. They caution against "naive implementations" and leave me with the impression that these things are inherently unsafe. Since the whole purpose of my module is to clean up messy data files with mixed encodings and convert them to nice clean utf8, this seems like just one more thing I can clean up so the application layer doesn't have to deal with it. My code does not concern itself with any semantic meaning the resulting characters might have, it simply converts them into a normalised form. Am I missing something. Is there a hidden danger I haven't considered?

  • VS debugging and watching a variable for changes

    I have a property inside a class that is getting changed by something. The only place I change the value of this code is a line that looks like this: pushpin.Position.Altitude = -31; During visual studio debugging, is there a way to watch .Altitude for any changes made, preferably it breaks at the assignment statement that changes the value. If this is the correct way to track down this problem, could I have a step-by-step tutorial/instruction on how to do this? Thanks.

When that window is triggered to open, it does not display properly, it positions itself inside the container and most of it is hidden. The existing object is in the Unchanged state. An object can only be added to the ObjectStateManager again if it is in the added state. What do I do with this code? I'd like to be able to get Users without posts and users with posts using the strategy pattern.
