  • DataGridView's top left cell value is not displayed.

    I have a DataGridView, without visible row or column headers, and bound to a BindingList. No matter what I try the top left cell (Rows[0].Cells[0]) is always empty. The cell's Visible property is true, but it never displays its contents. If I make some rows and columns invisible, it's still the top left of the visible cells that isn't displayed.

    What I need is such a simple, easy query, it blows me away how much work I've done just trying to do it in LINQ. Okay, so it's ugly and inefficient when run against SQL Server, but we're not supposed to care, since it's supposed to be quicker to write, and the performance difference shouldn't be that large. But it just doesn't work against SQL CE, which apparently doesn't support subqueries within the SELECT list. In fact, I've tried several different left join queries in LINQ, and they all seem to have the same problem.   • Using subselect to accomplish LEFT JOIN

    Is is possible to accomplish the equivalent of a LEFT JOIN with subselect where multiple columns are required. Here's what I mean. SELECT m.*, (SELECT * FROM model WHERE id = m.id LIMIT 1) AS models FROM make m As it stands now doing this gives me a 'Operand should contain 1 column(s)' error. Yes I know this is possible with LEFT JOIN, but I was told it was possible with subselect to I'm curious as to how it's done.

    Hi all, I am just trying to count the number of white spaces to the LEFT of a line from a text file. I have been using count( line.begin(), line.end(), ' ' ); but obviously that includes ALL white spaces to the left, in between words and to the right. So basically what I'm wanting it to do is once it hits a non-space character stop it from counting the white spaces. Thanks everyone.

What its currently doing when i press left is moving the square to the left, and if I press left again, it resets from the center and goes left. I want it so that when I press left, from where ever it is currently to go left and right. I know the principle is something like get current objects position and add the canvas coordinates respectively but how do I do this?

    I have a LEFT OUTER OUTER join in LINQ that is combining with the outer join condition and not providing the desired results. It is basically limiting my LEFT side result with this combination.     I have the following SQL which I am trying to translate to LINQ: SELECT f.value FROM period as p LEFT OUTER JOIN facts AS f ON p.id = f.periodid AND f.otherid = 17 WHERE p.companyid = 100 I have seen the typical implementation of the left outer join (ie. into x from y in x.DefaultIfEmpty() etc.) but am unsure how to introduce the other join condition ('AND f.otherid = 17') EDIT Why is the 'AND f.otherid = 17' condition part of the JOIN instead of in the WHERE clause? Because f may not exist for some rows and I still want these rows to be included. If the condition is applied in the WHERE clause, after the JOIN - then I don't get the behaviour I want. Unfortunately this: from p in context.Periods join f in context.Facts on p.id equals f.periodid into fg from fgi in fg.DefaultIfEmpty() where p.companyid == 100 && fgi.otherid == 17 select f.value seems to be equivalent to this: SELECT f.value FROM period as p LEFT OUTER JOIN facts AS f ON p.id = f.periodid WHERE p.companyid = 100 && AND f.otherid = 17 which is not quite what I'm after.

    Hi all, I'm building an horizontal menu in html+css. The current result is fine, except I want to have some items on the left, and others on the right. I couldn't find usefull result on Google with such common keywords so I'm asking on SO. Here's my code so far: #menu { background-color: #383838; height: 65px; margin-bottom: 20px; } #menu ul li { float: left; } <div id="menu"> <ul> <li>Link 1</li> <li>Link 2</li> <li>Link 3</li> </ul> </div> I'd like to have Link 3 on the right, so the space between link 2 and 3 should be filled at maximum. I don't want a filler <li> tag, but instead apply a class to the last <li> on the left, or the first <li> on the right. Don't want to adjust the width as I've a :hover background color changing effet on the links. I suppose margin or padding should do the trick but I can't manage to find how. Any clue? How do I get the top and left style property values (or X and Y coordinates) of each link in the array with Javascript when those values aren't given? Also, what would the code above look like in jquery? Not that it's needed - I just want to reduce the code a little and dabble in the jquery framework (I'm a Javascript newbie). The subselect is including votes for posts that have is_hidden = 1, so when I left join it to posts, if a hidden post is in the top 10 (ranked by votes), I can end up with records with NULL on the yes_count field. Performance: I have ~50k posts and ~500k votes. On my dev machine, the above query is running in .4sec. I'd like to stay at or below this execution time.   • WM_NCHITTEST and secondary monitor to left of primary monitor

    The described setup with 2nd monitor to left of primary causes WM_NCHITTEST to send negative values which is apparently not supported according to this post. I have a custom control written in win32 that is like a Group control. It has a small clickable area. No MOUSE events are coming to my control when the window containing the custom control lies on a second monitor to the left of the primary monitor. SPY++ shows WM_NCHITTEST messages but no Mouse messages. When window is moved to primary monitor or secondary monitor is positioned to right of primary (all points are positive) then everything works fine. Below is how the WM_NCHITTEST is handled in my custom control. In general I need it to return HTTRANSPARENT so as not to obscure other controls placed inside of it.
