  • How would I migrate a front page form based site to an IIS7 server? [on hold]

    I have an large html website on a very old server and I'm attempting to move it to a brand new server running IIS7. I've tried moving the entire site to the WWW directory, but then all my forms return "The HTTP verb POST used to access path is not allowed". Additionally, all the solutions I've found online only work on a page by page basis. Is there a simpler/faster way to migrate a large website containing many forms to IIS7? Here is the specific error message: The HTTP verb POST used to access path '/FormServer/Mig/_vti_bin/shtml.dll/admissions/askseaaggie.htm' is not allowed.

  • Is there a data structure for this type of list/map?

    Perhaps there's a name for what I want, but I'm not aware of it. I need something similar to a LinkedHashMap in Java, but where it returns the 'previous' value if there's no value at the specified key. That is, I have a list of objects stored by an integer key (which is in units of time in my case): ; key->value 10->A 15->B 20->C So, if I were to query for a value for key 0-9, it would return null. The special part is if I queried for something 10 <= i <= 14 it would return A. Or, for i = 20, it would return C. Is there a data structure for this?

  • How can I make my generic comparer (IComparer) handle nulls? [closed]

    Hi, I'm trying to write a generic object comparer for sorting, but I have noticed it does not handle the instance where one of the values it's comparing is null. When an object is null, I want it to treat it the same as the empty string. I've tried setting the null values to String.Empty but then I get an error of "Object must be of type String" when calling CompareTo() on it. public int Compare(T x, T y) { PropertyInfo propertyInfo = typeof(T).GetProperty(sortExpression); IComparable obj1 = (IComparable)propertyInfo.GetValue(x, null); IComparable obj2 = (IComparable)propertyInfo.GetValue(y, null); if (obj1 == null) obj1 = String.Empty; // This doesn't work! if (obj2 == null) obj2 = String.Empty; // This doesn't work! if (SortDirection == SortDirection.Ascending) return obj1.CompareTo(obj2); else return obj2.CompareTo(obj1); } I'm pretty stuck with this now!     I want to test deployment of a Windows application and a virtual PC seems the easiest method (I could be wrong, feel free to comment, but the question still stands). Courtesy my Windows 7 I have Virtual PC, and I seem to recall way back in XP I could download a pre-made image for Virtual PC 200x(7?) and use that without having to install from media. Are there any similar images for developers for Virtual PC?

  • How do you make a bootable usb stick on OSX with a corrupted harddrive`?

    I cant access the desktop because my harddrive is corrupted. Therefore I want to make a bootable USB stick so i can transfer all of my important files to my External HD. Problem is that Im stuck on Step 3 --- http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-mac-osx . Im not sure of what i should change this to: hdiutil convert -format UDRW -o ~/path/to/target.img ~/path/to/ubuntu.iso It says convert failed - No such file or directory. Obviously the problem is that i dont know the path to the USB, maybe you know how to find out? Please help me. Thanks. ps. Ive downloaded the ubuntu desktop amd64+mac.

    Is it true what I read that Intel and Motorola are moving from CISC to a programming model more like RISC/MIPS? Why? From the famous book "Computer Architecture" by Hennessay which usually is recommended around here: Recent implementations of the x86 architecture actually translate x86 instruction into simple operation that look like MIPS instuctions.... Page 335. What does this mean specifically? Can you show me an example?

  • Build failing - VS2010 solution on TFS2008

    I have migrated a VS2008 ASP.NET MVC solution to VS2010/MVC2/.NET 4.0 The solution builds locally and all unit tests pass. Our TFS server is still TFS2008 and I am having problems getting the CI build to pass. The projects all build successfully, the unit tests all run and pass but the Running Tests item fails. I followed this blog post on how to get the build working and I'm almost there. Combing the log file for failures I have found the following: Test Run Completed.     I'm fairly new to using JSON objects and I'm kinda stuck. I've got an JSON object that was converted from this array: Array ( [status] => success [id] => 1 [name] => Zone 1 [description] => Awesome zone deze.. [tiles] => Array ( // Column for the tile grid [0] => Array ( // Row for the tile grid [0] => Array ( [tileID] => 1 [rotation] => 0 ) [1] => Array ( [tileID] => 1 [rotation] => 0 ) // Etc.. ) [1] => Array // etc.. etc.. ) ) I use this object to render out an isometric grid for my HTML5 Canvas game. I'm building a map editor and to put more tiles on the map, i'll have to add values to this json object. This is how I would do it in PHP: mapData[column][row] = array( 'tileID' => 1, 'rotation' => 0 ); So my question is, how do I achieve this with a JSON object in javascript? Thanks in advance!   • Implementing rounded corners on slide down navigation menu

    I am working on the slide down menu you can see here. I have rounded corners on both ul#navigation and ul.subnavigation. When the submenu slides down it is possible to see the border at the bottom of ul.subnavigation overlap with the content of ul#navigation, when I would like it to slide down smoothly, without the 'flicker'. I am aware that this issue is caused by the rounded corners. I need ul.subnavigation to cover the rounded corners at the bottom of ul#navigation when the menu drops down, without seeing the double border-bottom issue. I hope this is clear! Code is below.     There are for ex. 10 rows in one worksheet. When user clicks on one row it should be presented on another worksheet. Is it possible? Any help to do it?   • Why does my mail get marked as spam?

    I Have the server "afspraakmanager.be". It matches everything not to be a spam server.(it isn't by the way): it has reverse dns, spf,dkim,... . But hotmail marks it as spam.   • C++ Linked List - Reading data from a file with a sentinel

    So I've done quite a bit of research on this and can't get my output to work correctly. I need to read in data from a file and have it stored into a Linked List. The while loop used should stop once it hits the $$$$$ sentinel. Then I am to display the data (by searching by ID Number[user input]) I am not that far yet I just want to properly display the data and get it read in for right now. My problem is when it displays the data is isn't stopping at the $$$$$ (even if I do "inFile.peek() != EOF and omit the $$$$$) I am still getting an extra garbage record. I know it has something to do with my while loop and how I am creating a new Node but I can't get it to work any other way.   • Cakephp doesn't write a cookie

    Hello! I have a problem with writing cookies in cakephp and even don't know how to debug it or where too look for a clue. I've inherited a project where cookie were only created using the Session component, of course i added 'Cookie' to $components array in app_controller and put this in beforeFilter: $this->Cookie->name = 'foo'; $this->Cookie->path = '/home/~nick'; $this->Cookie->domain = 'hostname'; $this->Cookie->secure = false; //i.e. only sent if using secure HTTPS $this->Cookie->key = 'some key'; and in some action i use: $this->Cookie->write('key', 'value'); I access page by http://hostname/home/~nick/foo and actually try to put even something so silly. I doesn't work. I would be really gratefully for any clue where to search problem. Thanks!

  • Hekaton – SQL Server’s in-memory database engine

    Microsoft have just gone public at the PASS Summit in Seattle about a new SQL Server engine that they’re working on which is optimized for high-memory servers – an in-memory OLTP database engine which is built-in to SQL Server rather than a separate entity.  This means that you can move just the performance critical parts of your database to Hekaton. The new engine really pushes the performance boundaries by eliminating as many instructions as possible: Main memory optimized tables which are decoupled from on-disk structures; Everything is lock and latch free; More work is pushed to compile time so your T-SQL code is compiled natively into low-level code.   • Welcoming Karl Grambow to Coeo

    After a massive search for our next ‘Mission Critical SQL Server DBA’, I’m very pleased to announce that we welcomed Karl Grambow into our team this week! Karl joins us from Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) in the UK and started his career as a SQL Server 6.5 Developer before moving quickly into the operational DBA space where he’s been ever since. He also dabbles in .NET and SSMS-Addin development and has created a versioning tool called SQLDBControl. Outside of work he enjoys photography and Formula 1 and has recently become a Dad for the second time (congratulations!). Welcome Karl, we’re all looking forward to working with you!   • Welcoming Gavin Payne to Coeo

    I’m very pleased to announce that Gavin Payne starts with us today as a Senior Consultant! We’ve known Gavin for a while now through his work in the UK SQL Server Community and when a role came up in our consulting practice I took the opportunity to talk to him about it. Gavin brings a broad range of experience from his recent background as a Solution Architect and has a particular interest in virtualization which is very prominent in the work that we do so we’re thrilled to have him on board. He’s also presenting a couple of sessions at the upcoming SQLBits conference in Brighton where Coeo is once again sponsoring and exhibiting so be sure to congratulate him in person if you’re going to be there!   • Congratulations to Gavin Payne–Microsoft Certified Architect

    Huge congratulations to Gavin who became the 6th person in the WORLD outside Microsoft to qualify as a Microsoft Certified Architect in SQL Server today. Gavin’s worked so hard for this since the start of the year and all that work culminated in a grilling 4 hour review board during the PASS summit in Seattle less than 2 weeks ago -- he received his official results last night. To put things into perspective, there are only 25 people on the planet that are qualified to this level in SQL Server; only 6 of those don’t work for Microsoft; and 2 of those work for Coeo. Coeo is the only partner in the UK to have an MCA in SQL Server, and now we have 2!
