  My w3wp's are recycling every 60 seconds after using too much virtual memory. I ran the IIS Debug Diagnostic Tool to capture a memory dump before the worker process recycled; the most interesting part seems to be this: Virtual Allocation Summary Reserved memory 4.88 GBytes Committed memory 328.27 MBytes Mapped memory 17.36 MBytes Reserved block count 524 blocks Committed block count 1082 blocks Mapped block count 43 blocks So that 4.88 GBytes of reserved memory seems really big. But neither the DotNetMemoryAnalysis or the regular Memory Pressure Analyzer seems to tell me where that 4.88 GB went. How can I find out?

  I am curious, say for example: Facebook is the client of Akamai CDN. So, now when I login to my FaceBook page, I see all the content (vid, image, text etc) and I click on a video to view it. Now, Facebook is the client to Akami to get the content. So, when a request is made from Facebook to Akami, does Akamai dump the vid/image from their data centers to Facebook's data centers where they reside for a while (depending on their heuristics) and flushed after some time? Or, I see that video (stream it) directly from Akamai's server? UPDATE Data resides in CDN permanently (agreed), but is a copy of the content sent to Facebook's data centers too

  I have a Windows 2008 R2 server that is being backed up to an external ISCSI drive nightly. The problem is, we'd like to use our Tape Drive (VXA 320) that Windows sees just fine to take those backups in the "WindowsImageBackup" folder and dump them to tape once a month so that we can at least have something offsite. I really don't want to go through the hassle of licensing BackupExec or similar if possible. All I'm really after is some kind of copy utility that can copy the "WindowsImageBackup" folder over to the tape drive. Ideas? P.S. If by doing this it wouldn't matter for a restore regardless, then let me know, but I would assume I could copy the folder back over to the server and then have Windows Backup find it again.

• ruby regex, parsing html

  Hello all, I'm trying to parse some returned html to look for currently playing movies. The pattern I'm trying to match looks like: <span dir=ltr>Clash of the Titans</span> Of which there are several in the returned html. (the html is huge, I've posted a sample at the bottom) I'm trying get an array of the movie titles with the following command: titles = listings_html.split(/(<span dir=ltr>).*(<\/span>)/) But I'm not getting the results I'm expecting. Can anyone see a problem with my approach or regex?   I have a SQL problem that I've come up against routinely, and normally just solved w/ a nested query. I'm hoping someone can suggest a more elegant solution. It often happens that I need to select a result set for a user, conditioned upon it being the most recent, or the most sizeable or whatever. For example: Their complete list of pages created, but I only want the most recent name they applied to a page. It so happens that the database contains many entries for each page, and only the most recent one is desired. • Refetching a previously visited page

  All, I am having a field day with page refetching. Any help or pointer will be greatly appreciated!! The behavior is a bit specific to mobile browser. Problem: I have two pages and created a shortcut link to pg#1 in the home page. Through a form submit button, user is taken from pg#1 to pg#2. All that is working fine. Now once I am on pg#2. I will leave the browser and click the shortcut later. The browser will stay on pg#2 and won't go to pg#1 even though the path in URLS is different between the two views. It is almost like Django decides that since I have already visited view#1, it doesn't need to fetch it again. This problem or behavior doesn't happen if I move the same code that handle the two views and the templates to a bare bone test project. Setup: I am using django-registration, context session. I am not using any HTML caching tag. I already have DEBUG turned on in my settings.py. Are there other ways that I can tell what the server is doing. • How do I get callgrind to dump source line information?

  I'm trying to profile a shared library on GNU/Linux which does real-time audio processing, so performance is important. I run another program which hooks it up to the audio input and output of my system, and profile that with callgrind. Looking at the results in KCacheGrind, I get great information about what functions are taking up most of my time. However, it won't let me look at the line by line information, and instead says I need to compile it with debugging symbols and run the profiling again. The program which I am profiling is not compiled with debug symbols, but the library is. And I know this, because interestingly, source code annotations for cachegrind work fine. When I run callgrind, it says the default is to dump source line information, but it just isn't doing that. Is there some way I could force it to, or figure out what's stopping it?

  I am new to PostgreSQL. I have to recover a database which was running in widows XP machine. I have the zip folder of postgres. I have extracted postgres installation in a different PC and started a using initDB and created a new database, I was able to login, but I am not able to see any old tables. Would you please post the steps you have used to start server in another windows XP machine and how to recover tables and data in the old data folder?
