• PHP variable passed to JasperServer for reports

  Is it possible to pass a variable from php to a report in JasperServer? For example, in my php application I keep the department_id stored in a session variable. I would like to pass the department_id over to my reports running on JasperServer and display the information appropriate for that department. in the iReport I have a query like: "SELECT * FROM employees WHERE department_id = $P{dept_id_from_php}", but I have to build a dropdown select list to pass the dept_id parameter. The end result is I would like the user logged into my PHP application to view the employee information that is related to the department the logged-in-user belongs to. I don't want to pass this over using the querystring because the user could just change the id in the querystring and have access to other departments information. Ideally I would like to only pass that parameter once, then reuse it in all the reports, like a global variable. Is this possible?

  Update: Looks like the query does not throw any timeout. The connection is timing out. This is a sample code for executing a query. Sometimes, while executing time consuming queries, it throws a timeout exception. I cannot use any of these techniques: 1) Increase timeout. 2) Run it asynchronously with a callback. • I need to know what link is clicked, how do i get these variables with cherrypy?

  Lets say I display 3 links, I want to accomplish 2 things, know which link is clicked, and record this choice in a list/pickle or txt file but also capture this variable in cherrypy so I can perform another action. How do I do this? Its been suggested that I use a query string which makes sense but I can't get the querystring variable to cherrypy to use for further actions. So would anyone have a simple code of cherrypy with lets say 2 pages and have one page display 2 links with a querystring in each and the second page able to get that value?

• Silverlight Navigation - how to override Back button behavior

  I'm trying to override the default behavior of the browser's back button in Silverlight (v4). Each of my XAML pages has an ability to show options. I want these options to be hidden when the user presses the back button, or to move to the previous page if the options are not visible. The Silverlight Frame seems to set back and forward points whenever the user navigates to a page with a new QueryString. Is there any other way of implementing my scenario other than having to implement a querystring component for my ShowOptions property?

• Maintaining session across relay domain?

  I'm building a payment page in asp.net, however the page where you order your items is run in HTTP (non-secure) on my domain. When redirecting the user to the payment site, I have to go through a different domain (my payment provider, from whom I borrow the SSL certificate), so my payment url ends up like https://www.paymentprovider.com/somescript.cgi/www.mydomain.com/mypaymentpage.aspx Now the problem is my session is lost, but I store the order in session, so I desperately needs it. Can I somehow send the SessionID in querystring, and restore the session from it - or do I need to stuff the entire order into querystring ? (Not too certain it'll fit though, it's rather long) Any help will be highly appreciated :-)

  I am building an app using Web2py framework... I don't want to have to use the request object to get all of the querystring parameters, instead I'd like to build my controller with named parameters and have the router unpack the querystring (or form data) dictionary into the named parameters and call my controller. so instead of a controller method of create_user(): where I would use the global request() object and look through the vars list... I would prefer instead to have create_user(first_name, last_name, email): like I see in other MVC platforms. is this possible in Web2py already? or is there a plugin for it? or do I need to add that myself?

  When I'm making asmx web service calls from Silverlight, is there any way to have the (generated) SoapClient objects modify the address that they call the service on? Specifically, I'd like to tack on a QueryString value onto each call that the service makes. Within Master Page, I have created the following tag for Title: <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <title></title> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" /> </head> Within Content Page, following are set: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!Page.IsPostBack) { if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(Request.QueryString["PatientRegistrationKey"])) { // .... } else { this.Page.Title = "My New Title"; //.... } } Though I am also setting the Master Page at run time as bellow: protected void Page_PreInit(Object sender, EventArgs e) { if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(Request.QueryString["PatientRegistrationKey"])) this.MasterPageFile = "~/MasterPages/A.master"; else this.MasterPageFile = "~/MasterPages/B.master"; } While getting open this page in browser, I got following Title: http://localhost:3562/?PatientRegistrationKey=0 - My New Title Please advice for the changes, so that there should be only My New Title within title, nothing extra like query string etc. Any help would be appreciated.

• Url Rewriting with Querystrings

  In IIS 7.5, I'm trying to rewrite a Url such as /about to /content.asp?p=about, with support for QueryString-s, so if the orginal Url was /about?x=y, it should rewrite to /content.asp?p=about&x=y. The basic rewriting is now working, but when I'm trying to add a QueryString it doesn't work. Tried both /about?x=y and /about&x=y. My current rule: <rule name="RewriteUserFriendlyURL1" stopProcessing="false"> <match url="^([^/]+)/?$" /> <conditions> <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true" /> <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory" negate="true" /> </conditions> <action type="Rewrite" url="content.asp?p={R:1}" /> </rule> How can I fix this?
