  • Reset TextBox.Background to default in WPF so it still gets updated when system settings change

    I have a TextBox that I wish to reset its Background property to its default value after changing it to a different colour. I have tried setting it to SystemColors.WindowBrush, but then, if the Display Settings are updated to change this value, it doesn't get dynamically reflected in the TextBox (it does normally if TextBox.Background hasn't been touched). Any idea how to do this?

  • ListBoxItem height not getting updated

    Hi, I have a listbox inside another list box, in inner list box listboxitems height may grow or shrink. My problem is that when the inner items shrink the outer list box doesn't re-render its height. Thus - stays with the previous height before the inner list shrinked. I have tried so many things here, among Invalidate of all types, selection and de-selection of the list box item that should be updated and more - nothing helps.... Can anyone pls help me with this?   • Prevent ListBox scrolling to top when updated

    I'm trying to build a simple music player with a ListBox playlist. When adding audio files to the playlist, it first fills the ListBox with the filenames and then (on a separate thread) extracts the ID3 data and overwrites the filenames with the correct Artist - Title information (much like Winamp). But while the ListBox is being updated, it's unscrollable, as it always jumps to the top on every item overwrite. Any way to prevent this?

  • C# Winforms: PropertyGrid not updated when item added to Collection

    I've got a custom class which can be edited through the PropertyGrid. In that class I've got a custom Collection (with custom PropertyDescriptor and TypeConverter). Items can be added to or removed from the Collection with the default Collection Editor. This all works fine. But - after closing the Collection Editor, the PropertyGrid is not updated. When I manual make a call to Refresh() on the PropertyGrid, the changes are reflected in the PropertyGrid. How can I get the PropertyGrid to automatically refresh when the Collection Editor has been closed? I sought for a solution earlier where I should subclass CollectionEditor (which I can't seem to find). Please help.

    Hi Geeks, I've a stroe procedure to update a record and after running it I use LinqToSql to delete the record. I know it is weird but I just want to test how smart the datacontext it is and understand how it works. Since the datacontext caches the results so any change via it can be recorded but now I use a store procedure to update something, it would not know. So when I try to delete it, an exception comes out "Row not found or changed". How I can tell the datacontext what I have updated? If I can do so the problem will sovle.

    If i have file for eg: a log file created by any background process on unix, how do i view the data that getting updated each and every time. i know that i can use tail command to see the file.but let's say i have used tail -10 file.txt it will give the last 10 lines.but if lets say at one time 10 lines got added and at the next instance it has been added 2 lines. now from the tail command i can see previous 8 lines also.i don't want this.i want only those two lines which were added. In short i want to view only those lines which were appended.how can i do this?

  • GUI freezing after datagridviews have been updated using backgroundworkers

    I have made an application which runs three backgroundworkers simultaneously. It basically updates three datagridviews, which it is doing spot on. My problem is if I press maximizebox button or anywhere in any of the datagridview the program hangs for quite a long time. I am able to use the horizontal scroll but not vertical scrolls. I have tried Backgroundworker_runworkercompleted and it fires as required after threads have updated their respective datagridviews. Is it a normal behaviour or am i doing something wrong any suggestions would be helpful. P.S: I have run the whole program using step method and their is no infinite loop in the code.     I am applying NHibernate to an existing project, where tables and columns are already defined and fixed. The database is MS-SQL-2008. NHibernate 2.1.2 Many tables have a column of type timestamp named "ReplicationID", and also a column of type datetime named "UpdatedDT". I understand I might be able to use the element of the mapping file to describe the "ReplicationID" column which will allow NHibernate to manage that column. Is it possible to make NHibernate automatically update the UpdatedDT column when the row is updated? I suppose I could try mapping the UpdatedDT property to be of type timestamp, but that have other side effects.

    I am converting GTT's to oracle types as explained in an excellent answer by APC. however, some GTT's are being updated based on a select query from another table. Or in these cases we are better off using the global temporary table?

    The version information, displayed when the mouse cursor hovers over the file in windows explorer, is set for a file built by visual studio in the VERSION resource. I would like to set the version in one place for all the files built by a solution, preferably when I change the version in the install properties. Is there a way to do this? The motivation for this is that if the version is not updated for a file, then the installer will leave previous versions of files instead of replacing them with new files. This happens even when the 'RemovePreviousVersions' property is set. In order to save the tedious and error prone task of updating the version in every file built and installed, I remove the version resource from all files - which is not elegant.
